Standard Bar, was in the area visiting the hospital close by. The bar took great care of me and the staff was friendly. Got the Buffalo wings and a Margarita

Local bar after work...drinks ok...food decent. At least it's open early so we can go after class at work. Service is great. Ambiance is equivalent to a dive bar.

I like this place!

We had a great time!I absolutely love the wall paper in the dining room and the bathroom was super clean. Our bartender D is so cool, suoer friendly and hospitable. The beers were cold and the shot was what it should be.We deff will be back and have a bite because the couple eating looked pleased! Will D do a shot of Jamo with me though???

Three stars here means decent bar experience. We were a little disappointed in the quality of the pub food, however. I love pub and tavern food. Murphy's Law wings were a little dry, not juicy. The Shepherd's Pie was also just ok, not the superblast cozy comfort food wow that you get at some other taverns when you order Shepherd's Pie. Bartender was extremely nice, however. Old Fashioned Cocktail was A plus. The Guinness from the tap was amazing. When you get a Guinness that has been properly managed, the taste and creaminess are unbeatable. That was the case here. Big TVs dominate the scene. So if you are looking to watch a game and have a perfect Guinness, this place fits that bill perfectly.

The perfect local. Great bar food, fair prices (rare in this area) and a no fuss attitude. Staff are so attentive. Always a mix of people which makes for excellent people watching. Lots of TVs for sports Sundays. Bonus for having trivia night on Saturdays when the weekday visitors clear out.

Perfect little pub. Reuben, Yum! Super comfortable bar with TVs to watch sports while having a beer and/or something to eat.

Was looking for a good burger this night and with a little search a place called Wolf's Lair popped…read moreup. It's a pretty nice sports bar with large TV screens throughout the place so will definitely be on my list of places to hit up to watch a few games! Overall food and service was on point, but also it was a random weeknight where there wasn't a crowd. Either way, recommend this bar if you're looking to grab a bite or watch a game! Classic Waygu Burger - 4/5 Great tasting and juicy burger, but one thing I wish was included was a side of fries at bare minimum. Cook of the meat was on point Disco Fries - 5/5 - Think of it as poutine but with mozzarella instead. Great side dish to a burger

What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.
