The Learning Center is also fulfilling on its mission of bringing golf and educational enrichment to the youth of Harlem. Brian Hwang (one of the golf instructors) caused my 4-year-old son to make more progress in 30 minutes than I was able to make with him in 3 years. Brian had my son sitting in rapt attention the entire time, having fun learning golf, and after my son left all he could talk about was going back for another lesson. After the golf lesson, the center provided an hour of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) training in which my son got to design, then 3D print, his own chess piece. The Center has also had a big, positive impact on my own golf game. After practicing in the simulators just once a week for a few weeks, I had one of the best ball striking rounds of my life in the Met Open (playing against top professionals and amateurs in the NYC region), hitting 14 greens on a PGA Tour course and making the cut. The simulators take a lot of the guesswork and uncertainty out of hitting golf shots, thereby dramatically accelerating the learning process. I now get why Tiger Woods identified TrackMan as the biggest change he has seen in golf since he began his professional career. The Bridge Golf Learning Center is the best thing to happen in Harlem for at least 5 years.

I am a completely new golfer -- started in mid-August 2022 and have played maybe 10 rounds total…read more I've taken a few lessons which have helped but spent way too much time hacking at the range, locking in bad habits and getting really bad elbow pain in the process. Within 5 minutes w/ Gabe, he was able to show me three concrete things that I could work on to improve my technique and reduce the risk of injury. My swing has literally never looked like it has in the picture -- now I know what to strive for each time I practice. After about 10 days of working on those things, I feel like I'm improving and, more importantly, I'm able to work on things without injury. I think the most helpful thing for me were Gabe's explanations about why those things (trail arm hinge, hip rotation, extension) were so important to building a solid foundation and avoiding further damage to my elbows. He also emphasized the importance of feeling uncomfortable when working on new things, which I think we all intuitively understand but don't make a priority in our regular practice. Looking forward to working with Gabe again when I'm back in the city -- in the meantime I plan on hitting him up for virtual lessons. For…read morestarters, I went from scoring in the 100-110 range before working with Gabe to shooting as low as 92 in less than a month. This is possible because Gabe has the teaching and playing experience to coach you in all aspects of your game, whether it's course management or building confidence around your shots. Gabe has elevated my awareness of my own swing and helped me stay committed to making long term swing changes. Like many golfers starting out, I still struggle with the basics like consistent contact, club face control, and release. No instructor can transform your swing overnight, but TRUST he will give you the right things to work on and many ways to work on them. As a result, I am making solid contact with the ball more frequently, have 15+ yards in distance per club, and am hitting straighter shots. Most importantly, Gabe will teach you how to be your own coach. Working with Gabe over time has given me the tools to diagnose and straighten out issues in my own swing even on a day when "I just can't seem to hit the ball." It has also taught me to consume the myriad golf content I encounter online with a critical eye. I know what I need to work on thanks to Gabe, and any of the bad rounds I shoot now and going forward would not be for a lack of excellent instruction. If this is helpful context, I picked up golf in 2020, have mediocre natural hand-eye coordination, and am not a particularly quick learner. All that is to say that if Gabe can help my game this much in six months, he can most certainly help anyone. There is no one I would rather trust with my swing.

My instructor was running a bit late due to traffic and she asked if it was ok to move my lesson to a little later time as he was running late. My instructor Chris was great dealing with a newbie to golf like myself. I gave it four stars and not 5 only due to the fact that the music that was playing in the waiting area as I said above plays in the back area and to me it was a little distracting to hear the music that was sorta on the loud side while trying to listen to the instructor. This would have injured my hips or knees. Evan was rude and lazy about teaching me proper technique for golf. Evan has no ability to teach a new golfer how to swing a club or how to play golf. He also has no skills in talking to new golfers. Lastly, a week after my lesson, Evan returned a prior call and asked if I was still interested in having a golf lesson with him. Very poor customer service, He didnt even remember that he met me a week earlier. For $190 Evan was a complete scam!

After a few swings Marc was able to diagnose the main issue with the swing and make the proper adjustment. They were able to work through irons, driver and sand wedge within the hour and he is excited to put the revamped swing to use on the course. He also particularly loved the screen that you hit into and the type of data you are able to derive from it (angle of contact, open vs closed club face, etc.). It was easy to see how the adjustment translated into better data and better contact. Now he is excited to put what he learned to use on the course.

I really wanted to improve my game and was getting frustrated with how inconsistently I was hitting the ball, even though I would work hard to hit the range on a weekly basis. Marc started me out with the basics, teaching me to improve minor things in my swing. He never stressed getting things right the first time, but rather getting me to a point where I could start playing consistent golf and start scoring. As the lessons wemt on, I could feel my swing start to gradually change and fill out more. It was a beautiful thing to experience. After four lessons and a good deal of practice on the concepts Marc has taught me, I am now scoring on the golf course better than I would have ever imagined (from 105s to 88s). My drives are straight and my irons are more accurate than they've ever been, with very consistent, pure contact. This was by far the best decision I could have ever made for my golf game, and I strongly recommend Marc to anyone that wants to learn the right mechanics of swinging a club and wants to finally iron out that nasty slice!
