We have just had a really excellent first lesson with Marc. I am an experienced golfer and was looking for a tune up, and my girlfriend who has never played wanted to start. We each had a 45 minute lesson. And in that time Marc had my girlfriend hitting some pretty decent shots - she had the biggest smile. Real joy. He also had me driving an extra 20 yards and I was getting more backspin with my irons. It was an impressive class and a lot of fun. The combination of Marc's teaching style and experience with his use of an advanced simulator to help us visualize how we were hitting the ball and it's effects on our shots was perfect for my girlfriend and I who are both analytical types. As my girlfriend said "I walked away feeling confident that golf was a sport I could get better at and enjoy." And I'm happy that we are already talking about adding a round or two of golf into our vacation plans :0) We've now signed up for a package, and his flexibility to work with us outside work hours is a real plus. Marc was absolutely brilliant! I came in with a drive that would either slice or hook and rarely go straight. Marc broke down my swing into the small things that were causing these issues. We did some drills to fix those things. Once those were ironed out he had me take my swing a bit further, what felt exaggerated to me looked great on video. We did some full swings with these things in mind and by the end of it I was hitting not only straighter, but also THIRTY yards longer. I am not hitting every drive dead straight yet, but by doing what Marc showed me, I am confident that I will be very soon. If you are looking to get swing instruction, do not go to anyone else. This is his business and he is obviously very passionate and dedicated to it. Not like a club pro that does lessons because it's part of "what they do". Go see Marc. Marc is a FANTASTIC instructor. I went to Marc after a significant number of frustrations of being unable to complete a round of 18 and fully understand my swing. Call me the Charles Barkley of golf. I'm in the process of taking the 5 lesson package, and feel like I have developed solid fundamentals of the game, understand my swing, and completely starting to feel comfortable in my own skin. He helps relate the game in simple terms to something you would understand. I'm confident I can go out and compete on the course after just a few short lessons. I went to Marc after having given up Golf for 2 years, so he as good as started from scratch with me. Extremely patient (even when i felt impatient with myself), I really liked the way he explained the theory, then the practical aspect of what i was doing wrong so the correction would stay in your mind. And he helps strategise your game for you, knowing your strengths and what will not be your strengths, which to my mind is very important. Marc has made me aware of multiple aspects that can impact my shots when i am playing - by dissecting my shots later and getting me to understand what went wrong and how i can address it better. Marc W is a true professional and amazing teacher of the game of golf! I gave Marc the impossible task of teaching 60 completely golf uneducated adults and he had these guys hitting irons well over the chipping and putting green into the adjacent dog park! Marc took time with each and every member over a 4 hour day at first teaching everyone the ins and outs of the game of golf with an etiquette talk. After a solid hour of entertaining the crowd he brought them to the chipping and putting green where he taught the members everything from how to hold a golf club to how to read a green! Marc showed me through visual and practical pictures what I should be doing to create the desired flight path of the ball without me worrying about compressing or angles. His example of clipping my business card rather than hitting down on the ball has me hitting every iron crisper and more solid. By tweaking my arm position on my backswing he increased my driver distance and I'm sure my club head speed too. When I go in the simulator at my club with him next week we will analyze all my new numbers! By the way I'm a 5 and took up the game as a boy 40 years ago. Hello: I was a good club player until I gave it all up when I was thirty. Now, 74, I have found Marc in NYC and he has been nothing short of wonderful. My body is different, as its its ability to move and stretch, but together we have solved many of the problems and I am hitting the ball fairly well. Marc is a great teaching professional. I am a novice in every sense of the word. My extent of golf knowledge is limited to Tiger Woods on Xbox. What is great about Marc is that he takes the other sports or activities that you have done in the past and helps you apply those same fundamentals to your golf game. Marc is a great instructor. I just thought I should lead off with that so that there's no guessing. I took three hours of lessons over two different sessions and had considerable improvement in every aspect of my game. The last time I had played golf prior to the lessons I was easily a 25-30 handicap. I played five rounds within three weeks of taking those quick lessons and was instantly down to a 13 handicap, and even had my first 80 . I have taken golf lessons once before, and was never able to get the hang of it. Marc is extremely patient, and he breaks it down for you in a manner that even the most un-athletic person can pick it up.
