It was 70 degrees out and I wanted to get one more affordable drink before calling it a night. Brady's had their outdoor tables set up with space for two, so we grabbed a table and a final round before heading home. The bartender here was working hard to get to everyone and got to me almost right away. She poured a strong drink for my friend and I which came out fast and correct. I was all over the place at this point and accidentally left my card in the bill but she flagged me down to give it back. Inside this place was vibing with lots of sportsball on the big screens plus some loud music. Outdoors was more my scene, it's situated on a corner so it's pretty great for people watching. Drinks were not bad either, around $15 each for a mixed drink. Looks like it'd be a great happy hour spot. I'd return. read more

Brady's is Family Owned and Operated since 1961. Brady's is a Upper East Side traditional sports bar in my neighborhood. If you enjoy hanging out in a pub atmosphere this is definitely the place and season to visit. They have Eight large screen HDTVs and keep the sports fans happy and the beer and drinks is always flowing. If you enjoy traditional bar activities they have a dart board and a pool table. Brady's sponsors 6 pool teams in the APA Pool League of New York. I have a very very good friend that enjoys playing pool. It fun for me to watch. Right now with basketball and hockey going on it's crazy busy in here. Be careful what team gear you're wearing because these patrons are die hard New York fans! Stop into Brady's on a Saturday night. It's definitely a divey neighborhood bar but it was packed and pretty loud. A bunch of TVs were on, playing college basketball and the UFC fight. They have board games in the corner right when you walk in. Bartenders were nice and refilled our drinks quickly. A good number of beers on tap. In the back, they have a dart board and pool table. Great location as it's one block away from the 83rd Street entrance to the Q subway (86th Street stop). They offer board games for patrons to use during their visit. Came here for a quick drink (alone as a 20-something female) while I waited for a friend. The drink was cheap so that was a plus and the saving grace for this review. While I sat at the end of the bar, a man came in a perched himself by me at the corner and got very much so in my personal space. Despite my closed-off body language and clear lack of interest, he continued to bother me. I tried to make eye contact with the bartender to see if he could help but he was not getting the message even though I was clearly uncomfortable. It became clear to me at one point the bartender knew this guy and had no problem with him being creepy and bothering me, so I decided to leave since I was not going to get help. The nail in the coffin was that on the way out the bartender was making crude sexual commentary to customers as they were paying their bill. Would not recommend any women coming here - not a safe place. read more

Only came here once (for a UFC event), so if locals/regulars say it's a great bar for drinks and watching sports - maybe it is. But to have that pool table so damn close to the bar and have the people playing pool to RUDELY keep telling patrons TO MOVE, not even ask nicely - is annoying and irritating. They should move that pool table further away from the bar. It ruined most of my night to have people playing pool to expect to move when I am not even facing the pool table and not knowing when they have to use that corner closer to the bar. Brady's is a solid, but no frills Irish pub. It offers a variety of beers on tap and liquor. Besides the seats that surround the long bar there are about a half dozen high tables of various sizes and big screen TVs playing sports scattered about. There's a jukebox and photo booth in the back by the rest rooms. The overall setup is highly geared towards socializing, so it's a good place to hang, meet friends, and watch the game after work or on the way to or from somewhere, like dinner, as the pub has no food. The strength of Brady's is really the patrons; they can make or break the experience. I got to spend a few hours there after the St. Patrick's Day Parade, amongst hoardes of locals, firemen, and it was just a great vibe. It made the whole day. read more

I love Brady's. This is definitely the epitome of a neighborhood dive bar. It is almost becoming a unique gem in the Upper East Side as more and more dive bars are disappearing here. I can tell from coming here multiple times over the past few years that there are die-hard regulars here. It really is a great spot for some casual beers and sports watching. The bartenders and owners are super nice and friendly. Drinks are inexpensive. They don't sell food which is kind of great because you are then free to bring in food from elsewhere (like the burger joint down the block or some good New York pizza)! For entertainment outside of sports watching, they have a pool table in the back and some darts. They also sell Brady's shirts in which proceeds go to charity which is super awesome. I definitely have great respect for this place and hope that this place stays as the neighborhood dive bar. read more

A rally point of sorts. If you live in the neighborhood, you should know this place. The patrons are truly a motley crew, plumbers, mailmen, low level petty want to be mobsters, drunks, reformed drunks off the wagon, investment bankers, traders, hedge fund managers, retired bankers and lawyers and a garden variety weirdos. A great place to catch 'the game' and not be surrounded by screaming frat morons. They don't make $15 martinis or Mojitos, but they do have the basic stuff. It fills up with the 'Bridge and Tunnel' crowd on Friday and Saturday nights, plenty of regulars on other nights. The men's room is a freakin swamp. Just your classic 2nd avenue dive bar. Really fun, lively atmosphere most nights and they have some good happy hour deals and pretty average prices. They have a dart board that is free to play which is fun and the tables are giant barrels which adds to the fun atmosphere. Kind of grimy, but again, adds to the charm/feel of the dive-y ness of it! It is a dive bar, after all! The bar tenders are all really friendly, and the crowd tends to be too! It's a pretty small space though. Pretty sure they don't offer food or anything like that. Brady's will always hold a place in my heart- for the entertainment alone. I have never, in my life, seen someone dragged out of a bar... multiple times... by the ankles. Not to mention, a chick. She was amazing. I mean, Brady's must be incredible, because she REALLY wanted to stay.. grabbing onto the bar stools, clawing at the rug, even forcing the bouncer to hold the door shut as she rammed into it and pounded on the glass to get back in. For over a half hour! This girl was incredible. The bouncer also earned the bar 5 stars in my book for actually fending this girl off without having to kick her teeth in- although a bystander attempted to round-house-kick her to the face after she kicked him in the balls for trying to help her up. (Mind you, this was after her head was slammed as the door was trying to be forced closed, and after she rolled around outside on the sidewalk screaming like a drugged up homeless person). This activity seemed to warrant 8 NYPD police officers and two EMT's. Brady's, your $4 drafts were an afterthought, I will return in hopes of running into this legend once again. read more

I had a really bad experience here, but I'm blaming it 100% on the bartender working at the time, so I'm not completely crapping on this place...even though I'm never going to go back. Over all, Brady's is a small bar that wants to have a modern club feel and doesn't reach it. The beers are pretty generic, and not cheap. On this particular night, the guy tending bar was waaaaaaaay more interested in scoring girls than in serving guys. I waited for almost 10 minutes, with a $20 in my hand and an uncoutable amount of excuse me's to which I received a bunch of "yeah, one minute" while he continued to serve other ladies. My girlfriend decided to change places with me and her and her boobs were served pretty much immediately. Like I said, this is my only experience, and I'm sure there's....SOMETHING....worthwhile about this place. I just didn't get to experience any of those hopeful positive attributes. read more

One of the worst sport bars on the Upper East Side. During a final of Eurocup they didn't even turn on the A/C. The place was weird, the bartender was awful and told some people to move from the bar! The place is mediocre at best during a normal days, but during a final of any sport event they just get rude and their service / drinks get worse. Perhaps they can't function under pressure or chose not to pack their bar with paying customers. The drinks are expensive. We won't be back. read more
