COVID

After years of avoiding the UES, I decided to move up here for sigh...LOVE. Bit of a bummer because, let's be honest there is not a lot to do for a mid-20s bar lover. Loads of pretentious places, *cough*UES*cough* -- Overpriced and dull. But I knew I had to find at least ONE place for me to escape to. Wander around and stumbled upon Reif's. Bam one stop LOVE. First of all, it's a Rangers bar. LGR. Second of all, it's hella cozy. Loads of Regulars and a decent selection on draft for a solid price. There's a nice backyard and televisions. During COVID, they have outdoor seating in the back and the front. The hours are limited but they're doing their best. They know serve food, sometimes it's stuff cooked by regulars. Really great stuff! They also served frozen drinks and growlers. They're going through COVID growing pains but it's still 100% the best. Loving it.

A small 'hole in the wall' about 100ft east of second ave that doesn't pretend to be anything special. If you are a group of loud chatty picture taking chicks (fattys), this isn't your spot. Hipsters, even highly ranked hipsters, those that have a quick Bukowski quote, those that have an Obama tattoo or two, those that have a wallet full of cash from mom/dad or grandma and of course those that have visions of Vice Magazine swimming in their minds, this is not their type of place either. After a few afternoons here I begin to get a Twin Peaks vibe. Old drunks, young drunks, homeless (looking) drunks and everything in between, astronauts, cowboys, ballerinas, rodeo clowns, cousin Itt, disgruntled housewives, drunken slamhounds, homecoming queens of long ago and usual detritus that shows itself where ever booze is served seem to be the uncommon participants at Reifs. Oh, I can't forget to mention the old guy that drinks his beer with his teeth sitting on the bar. Reifs has a large backyard area which is really nice when the weather is cooperating. Also one can cook up some grub on their grill. Reserve the grill with the bartender. Weekends of course are usually busy. Weekdays I've had the whole backyard to myself, just sittin', drinking and listening to the traffic off 2 ave..

There is no real reason to go if you're not a local, but if you live nearby and don't go, you're no local.

Friendly staff, extremely accommodating, four stars only because no food, apart from that an amazing pool table and extensive juke box.

Good service, poor communication- anything to get you through the dooWe came during the USA vs…read more Belgium match after being told there was a $50 food and beverage minimum. That was fine with us. Before we sat down, I specifically asked if the game would be on every TV, if there would be audio, and whether the $50 minimum was for food and drinks. I was told yes to all of those. I even mentioned that we'd be leaving at halftime, but there was no flexibility. We arrived early, the game started, and our view was of TVs that weren't even connected. When I asked about it, the person who appeared to be the manager simply said those TVs "never worked." If that's the case, why tell customers the game would be on every TV? The service itself was good, but the food was just okay. I'd skip the wings--they tasted like they were fried in old fish oil. The most disappointing part wasn't the food; it was being told one thing to get us in the door and then finding out it wasn't true. That experience alone makes it hard to recommend this place.

Meller's Sport Hub is known for their chicken wings and their sports vibe bar. We went to watch one…read moreof the USMNT World Cup games. We had to spend a certain amount in order to dine there which was fine. We were told that the game would be on all the TVs. Once the game started we found out that they weren't able to broadcast it all on the TVs. Hopefully this is something that gets worked out for future events as this is something that people are going there for. Overall the service and food was great. The chicken wings were delicious as well as their cheeseburger. We just wish all the staff had the correct information about the TVs.
