Atmospheric, old school bar that I have been walking by for 40 years. It has one of the few remaining neon signs in Manhattan. The interior is straight out of central casting, with a long bar backed up by booths. There were some regulars and some barflies. Pleasant place to knock back a Guinness or two.

This bar is over a 100 years old. Very cool.

This bar is one of the 'last of a dying breed.' Nic is always such a pleasure, and very customer service oriented.

Spent time here a couple afternoons on a recent visit to NYC. Perfect spot for a cocktail and football and went back while I was waiting for some yarn across the street at Knitty City. Really good cocktails!

Cozy old school pub to enjoy a nice cold Harp or Guinness. I have downed a few here at times. It's one of those NYC throwback bars that you don't find much anymore. Wood paneling, linoleum floors, single seating booths along the wall, and a wonderful neon sign over the doorway from an older era. The sign has seen better days as it needs to be repaired and restored. They are also celebrating their 100 year anniversary which is pretty cool. It reminds me of an old man's bar which is all good as the city needs them. Nothing like sitting at the bar and hearing their stories. Unless they want to be left alone with their beer and thoughts.

I love this little Irish pub. It's been in the neighborhood forever. It's a great place to meet up with a friend and grab a pint or two.

Cool place. $10 dollar pints. Ouch. Crossed off the list. Seems real steep for a meet and great dive.

Bartender was extremely rude and bar was empty. The seats were sticky. Worst bar I've ever been to. Do not recommend.

Great atmosphere. Bartender is nice and pours a proper Guinness. If your going to see a show at the Beacon it's good for a pre or post pint.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with champagne, which immediately set the tone for a special evening. Our server, Daniel, was beyond amazing. He was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making our anniversary meaningful. It never felt forced just thoughtful, polished hospitality. The team went above and beyond when we brought our wedding cake (which had been frozen for a year). Not only did they accommodate it without hesitation, they helped decorate and present it beautifully you would have thought it had been baked that same day. It was such a touching moment for us, and they handled it with care and enthusiasm. As for the food: incredible. The steak tartare was perfectly balanced and beautifully prepared. The tuna was fresh and vibrant. And the Beef Wellington... honestly one of the best I've had in New York City. Perfectly cooked, rich, elegant, and absolutely worthy of a celebration dinner. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance: romantic, warm, refined but relaxed. It felt special without being stiff. If you're looking for a place to celebrate something meaningful, this is it. We will absolutely return.

I found the hodgepodge of old-timey decor to be a bit kitsch, but to each their own. I came with a group on a weeknight with no reservation. We were seated immediately on a high wood table. Although the bar wasn't busy (there were plenty of empty spaces, small groups scattered throughout the area), the service was quite slow. The server was inattentive and took a while to take our orders. We had to ask her for water three times, searching for her across the room in an attempt to catch her attention. She was a bit absent during the two-ish hours we were there. On the bright side, the drinks were fairly good. I ordered this strawberry vodka cocktail topped with whole mint. I'm wary of vodka for its harsh, unpleasant taste, but I found this drink to actually be very pleasant, tasing like a fruit smoothie you'd get from a local juicer. There was also a burgundy drink served on a wine glass that tasted like the holidays. I liked that one quite a bit. Overall, Oscar Wilde was an okay experience. It's certainly a bar for a certain type of crowd, and the service was lacking, but maybe we went on a bad night. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll be served better than we were.

Always a solid choice, though it could have been a bit colder. The bartenders were very nice and attentive, and the place clearly has a strong group of regulars. Unfortunately, our server only heard that 5 of us wanted afternoon tea, and one of the tiers of food was smaller than the others. We also had to pay extra for additional tea, which we were fine with, but service was severely lacking throughout. Our server didn't check up on us, and seemed to want us to leave quickly after dropping off the check. We would have been happy to pay the $65 each for afternoon tea, but it wasn't worth it and frankly, I was agitated by the whole ordeal by the time I left. We were also disappointed by the food items (as they were lacking) and nothing about this was like other experiences we had with other afternoon teas. I can't in good faith recommend this place, nor do I see myself coming back after the atrocious service we experienced.
