I would have had a nice time here except I was harassed by the way bartender who started screaming at me and making a scene. Many people were uncomfortable. Atmospheric, old school bar that I have been walking by for 40 years. It has one of the few remaining neon signs in Manhattan. The interior is straight out of central casting, with a long bar backed up by booths. There were some regulars and some barflies. Pleasant place to knock back a Guinness or two. read more

I love this little Irish pub. It's been in the neighborhood forever. It's a great place to meet up with a friend and grab a pint or two.

Cool place. $10 dollar pints. Ouch. Crossed off the list. Seems real steep for a meet and great dive.

Dublin House is a quiet, dim lit hideaway. It doesn't offer food but it's a laidback place to enjoy a Guinness and carry on a conversation at a normal speaking volume. That is a rare find on a fall Sunday afternoon. read more

Cozy old school pub to enjoy a nice cold Harp or Guinness. I have downed a few here at times. It's one of those NYC throwback bars that you don't find much anymore. Wood paneling, linoleum floors, single seating booths along the wall, and a wonderful neon sign over the doorway from an older era. The sign has seen better days as it needs to be repaired and restored. They are also celebrating their 100 year anniversary which is pretty cool. It reminds me of an old man's bar which is all good as the city needs them. Nothing like sitting at the bar and hearing their stories. Management needs to calm down with the signage. How are you gonna put Dublin in your name and then be the least hospitable Irish bar before the customer even walks in. I'm from Dublin. I'll update this to 5 stars and try a pint when I can get in the door without being kicked in the teeth with this crap. It's a toilet. It's not the Taj Mahal. Tony has been our friendly, professional and reliable bartender for a few years now and we always love seeing him, as well as Mike and the rest of the team. They're serving up the best pints of Guinness in the neighborhood with a smile and are a great spot to catch the Mets game or meet up with friends. Outstanding. Spent almost 3 weeks in Manhattan (from Australia). Visited a lot of bars, and this place was by far our favourite. Tony, Nicola, and Mike were all fantastic but Tony had to put up with us the most. Drinks were always good and although no food, we were allowed to bring in pizza from across the road. Great atmosphere. Bartender is nice and pours a proper Guinness. If your going to see a show at the Beacon it's good for a pre or post pint.

Walk into a piece of history, they just celebrated 100 years and if they don't change a thing they'll be celebrating a hundred more. All the whiskey selection you'd expect from an Irish bar and definitely one of the freshest Guinness pours I've had in NYC. Old-school bar. You'll either love this place or hate it (I loved it). This bar opened during prohibition, but is only "officially" open since 1933 (when it became legal to drink again). The bartender told me a story of a woman who came in and asked what time the kitchen closed. The owner told her "1976." Needless to say, they don't serve food. read more

Probably the worst service i've ever had at a bar. the bartender was incredibly rude and insulting from the second my friends and i walked in. we ended up leaving because everyone we would go up to order a simple beer she would make another snide remark for no reason. the bar was empty and she repeatedly told my friends to get up and leave because other people were waiting to sit. Hiking for several hours around Central Park- we need a drink. Some of the higher end places weren't open yet, and it was too late for lunch specials. A couple of blocks from the Park and the Museum of Natural History, we find this small quaint locals' pub. Another long and skinny dark wood bar. But we didn't know it was a real NYC Irish bar. Since being open before Prohibition, it is literally a historical landmark. We had a couple of great simple drinks and rested up. The staff was nice and the place clean. read more

I must have stepped into an alternate reality. This place felt nothing like Manhattan. The neon green and pink sign flashing brightly above should have been a sign of things to come. It was like Pulp Fiction, something right out of a Quentin Tarantino creation. The bar was empty with less than a handful of people. The place was empty on a Friday night. That is proof that we are not in Gotham. There was an authentic Irish-accented bartender which sort of made things a bit better. I had a few Smithfield's on tap. I refuse to drink anything in a bottle unless you put a gun to my head. And even then, I might ask you to pull the trigger. But that is where authenticity ends and complete weirdness comes in. There is a high-tech jukebox, so you can play whatever you like. But for some reason, ranchera was the only thing coming out of the box that night. Irish bar and ranchera music. As we are outside having a smoke, this kid strikes up a conversation. Don't know his age, but he is suspicious. He also shows us more interesting things, which I can't reveal here. The night is already weird. And honesty she was kind of weird. Now if I only had my notebook to write a short novella. These characters would all fit in nicely. LOVE the Dublin House! It's a true pub and an absolute UWS staple! Low key, welcoming, great drinks. This is our 'go to' bar in the neighborhood. My husband and I recently got some hoodies from them and they are really good quality. Will be getting my whole family Dublin House hoodies for Christmas this year! Absolute top notch authentic Irish pub with very fresh Guinness and a very chill and relaxed vibe

From the exterior of the bar, I was kind of expecting something more. I went in on a Sunday afternoon to an empty bar with less than a dozen people in it. There are only 5 beers on tap including Harp, Stella, Smithwicks, and Guinness. The beers were a bit on the high side at $7 each but probably make sense for the UWS neighborhood. They had mini 2 person booths in the front part of the bar and further seating in the back. If they had actual food I was not aware. They had four TVs showing a baseball game and one showing the news. The bathroom was pretty clean. Overall, I got exactly what I wanted from a bar; a nice quiet place to grab a drink and have a chat. I'm curious to see what this place looks like when it's busy. There is a happy hour during the week Monday - Friday til 7pm where drinks are $4 Overall, Dublin House is a clean dive bar. read more
