Time for another adult beverage after walking 25000 steps so far today and it's in the upper 80s. Yelp brought me to Dive 75 where I enjoyed a draft beer while trying not to get too irritated by the six yuppies who were too loud and too drunk. Whatever. The beer was cold. Fun Fun, large tap selection & of course full bar, Sangria. Perfect location for your after- cocktails when going to and fro on the UWS. Friendly staff, nice fish tank, decently clean bathroom on the main floor (so no stairs which must be a safety feature). If I recall, decent play list. Will stay a bot longer on our next visit. read more

MY STAR RATING Service: 4 Food: N/A only getting drinks Space/Ambiance: 3 Price/Value: 3 Always a great place for reasonably priced drinks in UES. If you are feeling nostalgic, I recommended the #JelloShots Nothing much to say here other than it's a nice "dive bar" and way too clean to be called one. Just so we're clear on my rating. I rate as 3 stars being average and we go up and down from there based on the whole experience, not just the food. If I'm giving a 5 star review it's because the experience was exceptionally above average from start to end and everything in between. read more

If you need a chill dive bar uptown, look no further than Dive 75. There's plenty of seating, free candy (fun size chocolatey ones), board games, a fish tank, and a surprisingly good selection of beer and cider on tap, with great prices to boot. You'll usually find a range of ages and a relative gender balance amongst the patrons at any given time. There's no place like it, and over the years I've recommended it to countless friends and relatives for myriad purposes. Casual tinder date? Dive 75! Continuing dinner conversation over drinks? Dive 75! Catching up with a friend? Dive 75! Socializing after a softball game? Dive 75! **This is a personal message for the owner of the establishment** Though this place seems cool and fun, after how rudely I was treated by one of the bartenders tonight, I will NEVER return. I want to preface by saying I tried to complain to the manager before making a review but they didn't even have a manager on staff when I called and asked, which makes sense because their staff treats people horribly, thinks they won't have to face the consequences, and it shows. I don't venture to the UWS often, but tonight my friend performed in a show that was having a meet and greet at Dive 75 afterwards. Whether or not this was agreed upon by Dive 75, I have no idea, but find it hard to believe that a company would extend an invitation to have drinks/food at an [apparently] very small bar that was unaware of their intentions. I arrived with some other friends earlier than the performers. The place was PACKED as it was trivia night and there was no room to sit, let alone eat/ have drinks. Perplexed, my friends and I decided to wait until the others arrived and knew we would probably have to go elsewhere (and had no idea where all of the rest of the party was going to fit). The three of us staked out a small corner chair and waited. All the while, NO bartenders/servers/staff members approached us to ask if we wanted drinks or try to show us space to stand, so we minded our business while we waited, played connect 4 which was behind us. As my friend arrived, she started looking for other places to go. Meanwhile I have two checker drops left before I'm about to kick booty in connect 4 and this bartender (tall, long blonde hair) comes over, gets my friend to get my attention, and asks me in front of everyone if "we were planning to drink" to which I replied no (though we gladly would have if you had had the space) and because we were just about to leave. It was raining out and we wanted to know where to go before getting soaked. She then says, in the nastiest way, "yeah, you really need to go then." WTF? FIRST OF ALL, it wasn't my choice to come here! Second off, how dare you talk to someone like that, and third of all, we were told to come here!!!! Not our fault you're unprepared and busy with your trivia, Shirley. But instead, I clapped back "WE'RE GOING, don't worry" and she then has the AUDACITY to say "there's no need for your attitude, I'm just doing what my boss told me!" Which one of those methods helps you make money? 1) by pushing people out the door or 2) being rude af when you do it? I'm guessing neither, and more power to you if you do, but I'm not the one with a 'tude problem, hon. She then continued attempting to escalate the situation and tried to instigate a response from me, but I myself work in the industry and know better than that and just kept giving her a VIGOROUS thumbs up while I gathered my things. This employee is *SO LUCKY* that I was there on behalf of my friends and out of THEIR COURTESY, I DID NOT get back in her face and DEMAND to see a manager, which I SHOULD HAVE because, apparently, one wasn't even working when I tried to call back later! You should really watch who you hire. Not saying this woman should lose her job (she needs money, not time-wasters, I get it), BUT LEARN THE CIRCUMSTANCES FIRST, girl! And hope I don't ever find you as my service person again. read more

The candy is awesome. The bartenders are nice which is rare. The crowd is mixed and fun, mainly 20s to 40s but some older folk also. Really nice vibe! Chill atmosphere and good low lighting. Will go back again. read more

Cool neighborhood bar, good TVs, very good beer selection. The beer prices are about average for the neighborhood. We had a total of 5 beers and all 5 were weak A$$ pours. I'm not going to mention names but the barmaid is probably NOT a beer drinker. Every draft beer drinker I know WANTS THEIR BEER FILLED TO THE RIM! This is exactly what you would expect from a neighborhood bar... But it's more. They have friendly bartenders, great beer and spirits, and candy on the counter. We didn't play any of the board games or jenga, but it's a nice touch if you want to stay a while. I highly recommend this spot if you are in the neighborhood. read more

I came here with a few friends for a few drinks. It's a nice crowd and not too crowded. They have some craft beer but I stick with my Stella Artois. The prices aren't bad at all either. They have a jukebox which was fun. The bartenders were friendly which is really nice for a change. I'll be back soon especially since my friend lives around the corner. read more

So me and my girlfriend went into this bar thinking it would be okay since nothing else was open and sadly but not to my surprise they wouldn't seat us due to our complexion . We asked why we couldn't be seated and they said that the manager would rather not . We were given dirty looks as if we are animals and looked down on . & before you say what did we have on ; we were properly dressed and groomed .. I'm beyond disgusted It's sad that in 2021 we are still experiencing racism in places. If you are a person of color please please don't waste your time . read more

Putting this bar on the NYC St. Patrick's Day bar list. About 15 \ 20 minutes from the parade route and the crowds. This is not your typical St. Patrick's day crowd, in fact I don't recall ever seeing a shamrock decoration. However, Dive 75 was on our route so it makes the list. Relaxed vibe. Rude staff. Came in for a drink after a show at Beacon. Friend and I sat down at two empty barstools and was told by bartender that they were being held for someone else. OK, fine. We moved to the side to sit down at an open table and were subsequently told by neighbors that it ALSO was being held for someone else. We tried to order for 25 minutes with no response or service from anyone. Ordinarily, not that much of a wait in NYC after a show. However, this place wasn't busy, the tables "on hold" weren't actually occupied by anybody - and the bartenders etc didn't even offer to take a drink order after telling us to move. Skip it if you can forgo the convenience of its proximity to Beacon. read more

My new go to spot for a pre concert libation at the nearby Beacon Theatre. Old school bar. You can smell the stale beer that has been spilled and absorbed into the worn wooden floor when you walk in. Place was busy, but the bartender was efficient. Requisite Manhattan prices. read more

Now that Ive spent those dollars: here's an actual review, tho I don't do reviews. It was a bar, a fun bar. Drinks were cheap, pours were solid, and the bartenders crushed it despite getting busy as all hell. There were some rude folks given it was after quitting time on a Friday who were desperate for their gin and tonics but the bartenders handled everyone graciously and me and mine had fun messing around on the juke box. read more

A good place to watch sports in the neighborhood and it doesn't get too crowded. The patrons are generally a little older than at other bars in the area, which means the bar is usually a little quieter. Sometimes they put out free little bowls of prepackaged candy on the tables like Snickers and stuff. It's not going to blow anyone away, but it's exactly what it says it is: a dive bar. Came here for wednesday trivia. I was very pleased to see curieux on the menu because I am an exceptionally picky beer drinker. Trivia enthusiasts, be forewarned - it is a fun night but the trivia questions are very specifically themed. For instance, male coming of age movies. Many of them were from the early 70s. Other were NBA and heroines in literature. Not saying these are unreasonable, but just a heads up. Also, you grade your own answers, which I have mixed feelings about. And it's on TV, no one announces it (anymore). To me it lacks much of what I love in a trivia night, but that is not to say it isnt a good bar. There is also an aquarium, which is cool. While there is nothing bad forcing my review down to a 3, there was nothing good enough to push it up to a 4. You should probably read other reviews if you are making a decision to come here and that decision not based on the trivia night. read more

They saw me. They just didn't care. When I finally got service, it felt more like an inconvenience to them than part of the job. The beer (Rudy's Blonde) was actually very good credit where it's due. The staff was friendly too... just not to anyone who isn't a local. Maybe it's a NY thing so thats why I base my review on the beer. So yeah cheap beer, classic neighborhood watering hole. Come for the price, not the hospitality.

I had the good fortune of being taken care of by Adam, the owner, an extremely welcoming and knowledgeable host. The bourbon selection is absolutely 10/10. He has vintage and specialty bottles, all priced clearly by the oz., that are really beyond imagination. Trust me on this one.. you WILL NOT be disappointed. After savoring 4 vintage bourbons, I had their very delicious Reuben with onion rings. Cannot wait to return!

There was tons of soap, it smelled nice in there. The beer and shot special under $10 in the city? Haven't seen that in awhile. The beers are super cheap here as well. They feel like old NY prices! Can't complain. They have four booths in the back maybe it was three. I did notice one of the hanging lights was from an 80s pizza hut joint. Letting you know now the paper towels for your face at the table felt like jail toliet paper, very rough. The bar doesn't have bar stools with backs! You either need to get one or two tables by their mini kitchen, very hot there not recommended for preimenopause or menopausal women or one of the booths. This is a great bar they played 60s music a lot. Heard some weird al too! Very random and fun place to be. The bartender was nice as well as security! Try the burger! Worth the $9!!

Every one was better than the next. Worth every penny.
