love seeing the moscow mule copper mugs

Plug Uglies was formerly Bar Coastal which I never stepped foot Into. I came here for some belated birthday drinks. When I got there it was not crowded at all. I ordered a Moscow Mule and I must say it was tasty. I ordered a sierra Nevada Hazy IPA next. The bartender was very nice. The space is great has plenty of seating. In the other part of the bar there is a shuffle board game. This is a great bar to come gather with friends for some food and drinks for sports game or just a weekend of fun. They have a few tvs here too. They supposedly have great wings here too with many different flavors. I did not get a chance to try them out though. Maybe next time.

First time back here at the old Bar -Costal place ! Pretty fixed up in fact, this brick walls now inside the place and new tables and chairs ' but the reason why we're here is for wings and Smashburger, we ordered the Smashburger with Swiss cheese and onions, and they gave you a side of potato chips not fries, which is weird. We sat at the bar and ordered. We had two beers. They're about nine dollars now apiece. The wings were very good here Chrisp not too well done and edible and the blue cheese is very good with them. The service is what it is. It's not very fast but they'll get you to your order. It's the same size place so be patient. Smashburger could've been a little bit more done with with the toast. . My friend and I split the burger in half but it will be a bit messy considering why it's callled a smash burger.

Pretty chill atmosphere with nice bartenders and okay food. I got some wine which was okay, ordered some wings and they were double fried which some people love but I personally don't. They had lots of games on their TVs and it was crowded but not overwhelming. Would totally come back but probably stay away from wine.

Self-service/order at the bar. If you order food, they give you a number stand and they will bring it out to you when ready. Solid draft, bottle, and can offerings (beer, ciders, radlers). Fortunately, A full bar so any standard or classic cocktails can be made. Wings come in 8 piece, 15 piece, and higher - one flavor per set/order. We got 8 piece korean spice (soy-garlic) and 8 piece honey mustard. Each order came with carrots and celery, blue cheese dipping sauce and ranch (if you have a preference, let them know when you put in your order). Came out relatively quickly and saucy. Decor gave off southern aesthetics but the quantity of tv's and the general crowd was giving dive and sports bar. Not a bad idea to drop by for a game.

It's the best boneless wings in the UES, but you will want to get there early if there's games on or go on a quieter night

Excellent place to socialize over a cocktail, a beer, a whiskey, etc. This has all the ingredients to become a neighborhood fixture.

Was looking for a good burger this night and with a little search a place called Wolf's Lair popped…read moreup. It's a pretty nice sports bar with large TV screens throughout the place so will definitely be on my list of places to hit up to watch a few games! Overall food and service was on point, but also it was a random weeknight where there wasn't a crowd. Either way, recommend this bar if you're looking to grab a bite or watch a game! Classic Waygu Burger - 4/5 Great tasting and juicy burger, but one thing I wish was included was a side of fries at bare minimum. Cook of the meat was on point Disco Fries - 5/5 - Think of it as poutine but with mozzarella instead. Great side dish to a burger

What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.
