The prices are very reasonable. The staff is very attentive. The decor is extremely unique and sets the tone. What more can you ask for? Small tip, don't forget to bring CASH, it's a cash only spot! (But they do have an ATM if you do happen to forget to listen to my review lol) Most importantly you don't have to keep flagging down the employees to ask to exchange the coal for your hookah. (And they don't charge for coal refills). God, I can't tell you how much of a difference that makes in your hookah experience!! I had heard of Desert Rain but never been until this weekend. It's a laid back lounge type of vibe. They do play music, but I do wish the music was a little louder. The music playing reminded me of how it is playing music at home & even my music at home might've been a little louder. My friend has requested a music type change because they were playing like the best of 2000's & they did switch it up for a bit. As a hookah connoisseur, the hookah was good & smooth. I really liked that they automatically changed the coil every so often as all places should do. Upon checking in an ice hose was complimentary & made the hookah even better. I went here last night after dinner. It's a calm chill spot I seen ppl playing board & card games. They serve cocktails but they're weak. It's a cool calm vibe you can get like right after work or just if you want something laidback & chill. They serve a variety of flavors instead of love66. But they can replicate it. I was a bit bummed bc they claimed that they didn't offer the free ice hose given here after a Yelp check - in. I was looking forward to that. Their hookah is pretty strong too .. I got lightheaded after a couple of pulls & their coal doesn't burn out. Their severs also go around refilling the coal at no extra charge so you don't even have to hunt them down. I appreciate that. My friend, Ivan P. and I were having a lazy Sunday evening driving aimlessly through Brooklyn and Queens when we decided we wanted to hookah to pass the time. Ivan's first choice was closed despite being listed as open on Yelp, so now it was my turn to pick where we'd go. Desert Rain was well reviewed, and looked nice in the pictures, so off we went. Every business takes flattering pictures on Yelp, and the place was a little beat up as expected. The lounge set up is nice. The couches form nice private booths, and the music was played pretty at a lower volume early in the evening. They did turn the music up as it got later though (mostly hip hop and pop). Colorful lights keep the lounge dim, but cool. There are also star lanterns hanging from the ceiling. This hookah bar also happens to serve alcohol. The drink prices are not terribly expensive. I will also note that the men's bathroom did not have a toilet, only a urinal. The most important part of a hookah bar, is of course the hookah. They offer the Deezer Ice Hose, the best ice hose on the market as a free upgrade with Yelp check-in. Fruit bowls are available for an extra $10. I got a guava, lemon, and mint hookah in a pineapple bowl. It smoked well and had good flavor. They put the correct number of coals on it for the size of the bowl, and they managed the coals for me too. I did not need to touch the hookah til near the end of my session. They also have cards and games available for play. Prices aren't bad, we paid $30 after tax and tip for the hookah. read more

My fiance and I came here with a group of our friends since we found a groupon for $29 which included 2 hookahs and 4 drinks. The atmosphere made me feel like a bunch of high college students smoking in a basement with neon and black lights everywhere. Weirdly enough we didn't mind it at all. They had netflix movies playing on their TV screens and awesome drawings on the wall. The vibe was super chill and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I loved how they had a bunch of board games for us to play during our smoke session. We played jenga, connect 4, and uno. They had a bunch of other games available as well. If you check in on yelp you get a free upgrade for an ice pipe which was pretty dope. It was our first time trying an ice pipe and really loved the effect it gave you when you took a pull. It made the pulls much cooler and smoother. Overall our experience was great. Have passed by so many times but first time visiting! Honestly, I was pretty satisfied with my experience here. The lounge was suuupper chill, the snacks and drinks were priced kindly, and the people that worked there were also friendly. Coal was constantly checked on and the hookah flavors were not bad. Our best that night was a triple mix of orange+white gummy bear+ice :) Also! Proof of Covid vaccination was asked at the counter in the beginning so we felt safer about that part. Good vibes, good music, great staff, great shisha. I mean what more can you ask for? I've been going to DR for a few years with some of my friends and we go primarily for the vibes. The hookah is good, but California spoiled me, so by good I mean it's great! Imagine . . . You've had an awful or subpar day and you want avoid going home and need a place to just chill out. DR will give you that. Outlets are at every booth tho charge your phones because, let's be real, no one can live without theirs for too long. Wanna get some work done? I get work and homework done there countless times. The spot opens at 4 pm daily, unless stated otherwise (i.e. holidays, snow days, etc.). Sundays at 4 are perfect if you want to enjoy the calm before the storm. The storm bring the crowd because this place has the tendency to get crowded. That being said, if you have a big party coming on what typically is a busy night I suggest calling in advance to confirm space. Ok I went here on a whim! It was 1:30am and a friend wanted to hangout and I checked Yelp of course to see what was still open and convenient for us both. This spot came up and they closed at 4am so we agreed to meet up here. We didn't meet up until 2:40am from the outside it looks small but there's a decent amount of space on the inside. We walked in and was greeted by friendly faces that offered us options on seating. I chose the seating. We knew we didn't have long here but our waitress was still energetic, friendly and helpful with suggestions. We chose what we wanted to smoke and what we wanted to drink. And then our waitress asked if we wanted board or card games (that was a first for me) but I liked the offer but knowing we was on borrowed time I passed but next time I'm going all in. There was music playing plus videos was on the tv's. Even while they was closing they never rushed us to leave plus I was talking to one of the staff members while my friend was paying. Clearly customer service is not their forte. I overheard a woman telling her party, "We have to wait because there's a party going on & they don't have any tables." First off it was not crowded there were at least 6 booths available. This place should really be called Desert because it's dry. I don't understand the hype from my fellow Yelpies. It's located in the middle of "West Bubble...Watch Yo Mouth". Another thing that disturbed me is that the "kitchen" is in the front of the vicinity. As soon as you crack open the entrance door towards your right there is the makeshift kitchen. I don't want to see you making my food. I don't want to see your apron nor the grease stains on your shirt. Another thing that made me flip my top was the announcement of not having any liquor. I've been to a lot of hookah places but this one just has a great atmosphere with great hookah. Everyone is very friendly and eager to please. (You'll always see Mary or Aziz). Whatever you need they will try to accommodate. You can come with a big group or just stop by to have some chill time alone and still feel like you got your moneys worth. They come by regularly to change coals and make sure your hookah is perfect and if its not, they won't hesitate to fix it or change it. Ok awesome hookah lounge. Hookah came out super fast and pulled greaT. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Got to speak to owner and she was super friendly. My only issue was the cushions on the couch. They just need to be properly be installed cause it kept slipping and my biggest fear was it falling into the hookah. Ohhhh they have this little breathalyzer machine in the front aNd condoms lol now that's tHinking about the customers safety both ways. Overall great spot. I was excited to try out this place based on the reviews, I'm upset that the reviews weren't accurate. I purchased a Groupon for this place which included 2 hookahs, 2 appetizers, and 4 drinks. My issues started when we sat down. We were given a hookah menu and a drink menu, when I asked about the food they said "we don't serve food anymore because we are trying to get a liquor license" What??? Why have a Groupon that offers food if you no longer serve food? (False advertising) Other than the false advertising on groupon, the place looks nice. They have private booths and an outdoor space. They make fruit smoothies and tea, no liquor. The hookah is good and comes in a lot of different flavors. They also do things like the ice pipe and milk or red bull base. The staff is very friendly here. They also gave us substitutions for the missing components of the groupon. Overall, I probably won't return because it is a bit far. Also, I like the option of ordering food (not delivery) when I'm going to spend over an hour at a hookah bar. Anyone in the area should check it out, it's a cool spot. read more

Giving this place a 3.5 stars rating. I went here with a friend and we were seated immediately. We decided on strawberry-mint with milk added. The workers attended to us in a timely manner and professionally. We ordered the fried Oreos and mozzarella sticks. The fried Oreos were a yummy treat, definitely satisfied our sweet tooth. My friend exclaimed that the mozzarella sticks were amazing. When we initially arrived, the TVs were all on a news channel....how lame for a hookah lounge. The TV channel was later changed to funny/prank videos....better than the news. The genres of music (hip hop & rap) being played was odd. My friend was really cold though, we were seated in the 2nd to last small booth in the back & she kept her sweater on the whole time. I'm not sensitive to the cold, but 40 minutes later, I felt the chills too & it was uncomfortable! The small booth next to us complained to a worker about the temperature & he said that the back door was open because the people in the front complained of it being too warm. Wouldn't one open the front door if the front section is warm then?! The worker also didn't bother to close the door so for the rest of the time we were there it was absolutely cold....mind you, it was 19 degrees F that night. Overall, the workers were attentive to us, but the freezing cold atmosphere inside made it difficult to have a completely carefree time with my friend. The music playlist could have had better selections, but to each their own, I reckon. A friend recommended this spot to me, so me and my boyfriend decided to make the trip here. To start off, I must say the seating arrangement here is amazing! They have small booths for small groups (2-3 people), big booths for larger groups (5-6 people) and even bigger seating area for larger groups. My only COMPLAINT would be that the location itself looks very worn down. The cushions are done, the wall paint is cracking off and the pillows are old and not comfortable. I understand it may be hard to get the walls painted, but the least they can do is get the cushions replaced and get new pillows. The hookah was phenomenal, we had the strawberry margarita mixed with something else. It was smooth, it pulled well and lasted long. Our server (I believe her name was Rebecca) was such a sweetheart. She was attentive and friendly. She kept checking in on us in the least annoying way possible. My boyfriend actually forgot his phone here and she was nice enough to keep it safely till we got back! Im officially bumping up my stars from 4 to 5 on my second visit. I keep forgetting to take pics etc etc but this place is awesome. They got board games, dominoes, cards, jenga etc etc, and drinks are very good and very good price. Got the strawberry moscato & dam was it good. Snacks are good.
