Hello folks,let me start by saying that my familly has been visiting this establishment for many many years and unfortunately i have to voice my dissapointed.let me just start by saying that as mant times that we have eaten here ,I never views the bill amount.we orders western omelet ,a waffle with two strawberries and a swirl of Nutella. My wife ordered a mushroom room omelet with extra cheese and an order of hash . Folks, iam not cheap or watch how much I spend when we go out to eat but I refuse to be taken advantage off of what I get charged. THe mushroom omelet was charged for every thing that they put in .I was charged individually for the peppers ,mushrooms and what ever else they put in .the western omelet was not and had the amount of ingredients as the mushroom.ftom $12.95 the amount increased $5 more.why? The hash browns were also very expensive and the two strawberries on the waffle were $7.the Nutella swirling was also a $7 charge. Like I previously mentioned iam not cheap at all.but when I have seen the bill of $109.00 itpissedme off and I felt that I was raped.yes i know everything has increased and I know what the manager is going to say when they see this review. Shame shame shame on them they are truly ripping customers off.we will not ever go back to this establishment again and I will make sure I will inform my family and freinds.they are many dinners in the area to go to. Regular diner atmosphere. Clean and bright. The staff was great. Always checking in on us and refilling coffee. Ways with a smile which makes my day brighter. My friend got the Green Goddess Egg White Omelet which had fresh zucchini and asparagus. I got an eggs Benny that was on 2 huge crunchy lakes, poached eggs, and lox. I never heard of that combo before and it was delicious although I separated the Lox from the lakes as together, they didn't make my mouth happy. The menu is huge and you can get anything you want. We ventured into Great Neck during Memorial Day weekend and we were all hungry. We came across this dinner which opened back in 2010. The ambiance is your typical diner and service was great. Staff was welcoming. Food portions were generous especially for the kids menu. Everything we ordered was solid and my husband thought it was one of the best meals he had in a while. We walked into this Diner randomly. The place was very crowded & busy. The staff were very friendly & our orders came out super fast. The food was good & the portions were large. I ended up taking home part of my Tuna Salad Club Sandwich & French Fries, the portions were so large. The Diner was big, bright & clean with plenty of tables & chairs. Went to this local joint in Long Island when I was on a work trip and it was great! It's got the NY diner feel from an atmosphere perspective and great diner food. Menu is very large and has all kinds of options. I ordered one of the Wednesday specials which was lamb chops and for my sides I had matzoh ball soup, sautéed spinach, and French fries. The area was great even though it was a bit windy that day.. Food was good, however my steak was a bit overcooked and cold. ive had mexican salad and i felt the salad was very largely cut especially the cheese.. overall is was okay, my husband loved his skirt steak and my friend had the trio salad which he enjoyed. So I am not from Long Island nor great neck, but what a cute town! I was in the area, popped into the great neck diner to have breakfast on a Sunday morning, and it wasn't bad at all! Walked in around 7:45 AM. We were seated right away and received service almost immediately ! We only had breakfast. Including a sandwich, french fries waffle omelette home fries. First of all the area is very nice. I sat outside and the owner was also sitting outside reading the morning paper and talking with patrons. It was a very relaxing atmosphere, I had the works omelette and it was delicious. I was able to get fruit in place of potatoes for no additional charge. Being from a small town in rural Indiana, this family owned diner made me feel at home. Definitely going back when I am in town. read more

I would say if you want some diner food give this place a try it's the only one in great neck but beware. This place is small and gets busy on a Sunday. I went after church the other day. I've been here a couple times. Don't eat the eggs. They were not good. I've had other food and it was alright. The prices are a little high for what you get. Maybe because it's great neck? Great Neck Diner is highly overrated and subpar. It's hard to believe this diner is rated 4 stars on Yelp. Today, I went to the diner at 12 PM with my friend. We ordered an iced coffee, a small grapefruit juice, two eggs, home fries, sausage, and toast. The grapefruit juice was extremely small, even for a small size--it was ridiculous that it cost $4 for about 3 ounces of juice from a bottle. Secondly, there were eggshells in my eggs, and the food was lukewarm. I wasn't given a straw for my iced coffee, and the waitress handed us the check halfway through our meal without arranging for another waiter to help us. The prices were also expensive for such small portions and cold food. We had to wait 15 minutes, the service was slow, and it is small and crowded in there. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Great coffee, great breakfast, and excellent service! I love the fact that they have my type of multigrain bread! Now we're talking! It's Halloween month, so they have the Halloween decorations, but no one wears any costumes. It's a big diner with lovely seating areas, outside and inside. It's a corner diner, so you can't miss this place. I had Challah bread French Toast with two Sunnyside up eggs, and it was fantastically prepared. The waiter listened well to how I liked my eggs to be. Hubby had two eggs over easy and the home fries were excellent too, well done! Was annoyed with how I was treated recently. I wasn't done with my meal and got up to go to bathroom - I had a sweatshirt and a bag there - which would indicate that someone is still there. I come back from the bathroom and The table was completely cleared - and when I asked why - all the waiters clammed up - nobody said a word to me - I even asked to talk to the manager and was told he had stepped out - I waited for 15 minutes and nobody came - my sense was that the staff never called him to begin with; that the other employees were probably protecting the one worker who cleared the table That's BS how I was treated - won't go there again - just don't understand why you would clear a table when there is indication that someone is still there and there are belongings like a sweatshirt sitting there I am a big transparency guy - all the worker had to do was be a man and apologize and say he made a mistake - I don't like when people hide- gives me no faith in humanity when that happens read more

One of my friends lives in great neck and doesn't drive so I got her from her apartment and we came here for lunch before I had to go back to Babylon to get my son from the bus stop. They had lunch specials if you desire to choose a lunch special option around lunch time you'll probably get the most bang for your buck. I had spinach pie with greek salad and it came with a beverage and a soup. I had the barley soup. Everything was good, the spinach pies were perfect a nice slightly crispy phyllo dough crust a good ratio of feta cheese and spinach, the salad veggies seemed very fresh and the soup and coffee were good as well. Wow, you can have a Thanksgiving meal everyday here at the Great Neck Diner. As a foodie, my favorite part of Magic Kingdom is the Liberty Tree Tavern, where they serve Thanksgiving fare everyday. Maybe I've been under lockdown too long, I look for anything that reminds me of how it was, when we could do whatever we wanted... but I digress. I love the turkey platter here, and with some creamy gravy and mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce, it is Thanksgiving whenever you want it. The turkey platter also comes with a vegetable and soup. We came here for breakfast on a Sunday at the right time and, surprisingly, didn't have to wait for a table like people did who came after us. We ordered the merchant mariner aka lumberjack with pancakes, home fries, sausage, bacon, toast and fried eggs. We also ordered the brunch board, which came with pancakes, Belgian waffles, sausage, bacon, blueberries, strawberries and chocolate to dip the waffles in and whip cream.
