Wow what a difference the time at the Omega is. Earlier lot's of older clientele and soft music like easy listening. Later at night I was Extremely excited and happy to hear such artists like.. Elvis Little Richard, The Amazing Carl Perkins,Johnny Cash and the Beatles. Omega has been a community staple for as long as I can remember. This past weekend, we were craving an old-school diner meal. I went with a classic bacon cheeseburger and was not disappointed. My husband tried the Delancy, and we both loved it--definitely planning to get that next time. The kids enjoyed their meals too. The " toasted almonds" were all literally burned black, half to fully black. And because they were so badly burned, they were bitter. Ruined the entire salad. Omega is our go to breakfast location. They're one of the few diners that now have a breakfast special. It's not the world's greatest breakfast special but it is at least you feel you're getting some value for your money. Wifey had an omelette and I had there eggs, bacon sausage combo With pancakes and French toast. I don't know what people expect coming to a diner, but I got exactly what I expected. I've been eating here since the early 1970's with family, friends, and by myself. Many magical moments happened and throughout it all, the food, the staff, the atmosphere have always been like home. I decided to share this experience with my brother's best friend. Remember my brother passed on Labor Day. Since then his best friend I have been meeting every weekend for lunch or brunch in a number of spots he and my brother frequented, like The Great Neck Diner. Today I decided to go Greek. I got the Spinach Pie special with comes with a wonderful Greek salad and soup. Both were flavorful, Rich and had creamy sauce. Several hours later I can still taste the buttery blend. I finished with a recommended Neapolitan desert. Wow. I had to get directions how to approach it and it was amazing. Wanted vegan options and I find that they don't offer that. Service was way under par. I had to do a lot of waiting for my waitress to bring more stuff and she took her time . My sister and I had breakfast at the Omega Dinner after a doctor's appointment two weeks ago. The waiter was ok in the beginning... but that didn't last long. We asked for one decaf coffee and two waters. He returned to our table with one water and two coffees. (Only my sister drinks coffee.) This is when our waiter starts being lest pleasant. He was adamant that we ordered two cups of coffee. We assured him that we only ordered one cup of coffee... he walked away in a bit of a huff as he took one of coffees away. I had a few questions about menu, because I'm a vegetarian. I asked what type of oil were the fries cooked in. He looked as if I had no right/reason to ask a question... After a few other questions, we asked for a few more minutes. He walked away, rolling his eyes. We should have left the dinner then! My sister is diabetic and needed to eat... I ordered the brioche french toast. It had no flavor at all. It was a giant piece of fried bread. Our waiter brought out as small, open container of butter before the my meal. The butter had crumbs in it, as if someone used the butter for their toast!!! I told the waiter that I would like individual wrapped servings of butter like the couple across from us. Well, the waiter huffed off, without an apology mind you, and returned with the wrapped butters. This waiter never once asked how the food was or if there was anything he could do for us once our food was delivered. I did not leave a tip!!! That was such a disappointing experience. read more

Omega Diner is one of the best diners in the area. We were seated immediately and Jerry our attentive waiter took our drink order. We started with well done onion rings. They arrived hot and crispy. A definite must order. For mains, we had chicken souvlaki, a Belgian waffle, and an eggplant parm panini, with well done fries. Again, all dishes arrived hot, and were delicious, even though the fries were not well done as requested. Another item to order is the chocolate fudge cake. (They have two different chocolate cakes so make sure you ask for the dark fudge one). Sometimes I go there and pick up a few slices to go. It's beyond incredible. Lastly, your experience may vary based upon your server. Unfortunately, I have been to this diner, and had less than stellar service, which of course affects your overall experience. read more

First Impressions - nostalgia. This place reminds me of all the late night diners I would eat at after a long night out during my college day. We came here on a Sunday for brunch after my husband got off work, so we were surrounded by the post-church crowd as well as the Sunday brunch old couples who eat here regularly. Sanjay and I spoke about how we would love to create a tradition of eating here until we are both old and grey like the couple at the diner eating at the bar. Except we promised we would continue to talk (the couple sat in comfortable silence watching TV) The Noms - normal diner food... eggs, bacon, home fries, pancakes... the usual. Nothing special or anything... just your typical HUGE menu of diner food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was the ambiance and the nostaglia that does it for me. Absolutely rude treatment by manager. Did not politely ask us to finish up as he needed the table but instead came around said "ladies we need this table" then had his cleaners come over start cleaning the table as we were still at it and brought a couple to sit there as we were just getting up. I love the service here. Great diner one of my favorites on Long Island and its near the Queens border. No matter what time I come here the place is always packed. They omelettes are delicious. Their burgers are HUGE JUICY AND ALWAYS cooked to perfection. The menu is huge and there is something for everyone. The greek chicken plate / salad is the best I've ever had -- with juicy (not dry or overcooked) chicken! My kids loved the pancakes and waffles. Someone mentioned Omega Dinner. It was close and we explored. Place was packed, got a parking spot when we arrived. Someone was pulling out. Didn't have to wait and got placed in a booth with a window view very nice. The server was friendly, coffee served quickly. My review is long overdue for this wonderful diner. We've eaten here for at least 10 years and every meal has been delicious. I'm partial to their Challah French Toast with Bacon- yummy! My mother in law loves their Bacon Cheeseburger and my husband is a fan of their Turkey Club Sandwich. He likes their Coke Slaw and Pickles, too. I adore a diner. Breakfasts at any time of day. Burgers, fries, junk food or even platters of every meal imaginable. Dessert too! Food makes me happy. It was 2pm on a Sunday and I did a Yelp search for "burgers" because I was absolutely hankering for just that, and of course seeing diners pop up on the results I looked over the reviews and saw this one had some positives by my fellow yelpers and drove on over. I wasn't too far away and the parking lot was full. Always a good sign. Parked my vehicle and was seated promptly. I ordered the cheeseburger deluxe with waffle fries and it was perfect. I ate every bite. Every waffle fry. That has never happened. I always want so much and fill up so fast ! This time I was loving every bite and wanted it all.
