AWFUL. Walked in about an hour prior to lunchtime, and the older man at the front door pointed to a table in the back. (NOT being seated should have been the first RED FLAG!) So I walked and sat down at the table where he had pointed. Turned out to be a sticky table that had been hastily "cleaned." Three separate wait staff walked by me repeatedly. No waiter seemed to be assigned to my table, as no one looked at me, much less greeted me. The only person who noticed that I was an actual live human being was the support staff (busboy? bus-man?) who brought me a glass of water. Other than that, I sat. And I sat. And I sat. And I SAT. NO MENU was ever brought to me, and no person acknowledged that I existed. Ten, twelve minutes went by and I said to myself, if this goes on any longer, I am just going to have to leave. I mean, what the hell? So I did. I left - and trust me, I will NEVER, EVER go back. The place is obviously run by people who do not understand CUSTOMER SERVICE. Disgusting. Wow what a difference the time at the Omega is. Earlier lot's of older clientele and soft music like easy listening. Later at night I was Extremely excited and happy to hear such artists like.. Elvis Little Richard, The Amazing Carl Perkins,Johnny Cash and the Beatles. The Music Rocked and was Awesome I came back to Omega just for a snack and we were able to have the Fabulous Naomi as our waitress. My friend Robert ordered a Banana Spit Sundae. And like Oni, Naomi made it to perfection. I asked Naomi if I should order the Turkey dinner or anything Eggs Benedict, She brought me the Eggs Benedict and a wonderful salad. Very rude customer service the lady in the front is really disrespectful I went up to pay with my Apple Pay and the amount that was paid deducted out of my account and to her it still says pending she says "we went in there to eat for free" you shouldn't say that to someone I work really hard for my money and if the money deducted out of my account then I see no reason why I should've been told that ! It's kind of a 3 and 1/2 . I ordered my favorite salad- strawberry fields to go. The strawberries, lettuce, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, romaine lettuce all fresh and beautiful. The " toasted almonds" were all literally burned black, half to fully black. And because they were so badly burned, they were bitter. Ruined the entire salad. Since then his best friend I have been meeting every weekend for lunch or brunch in a number of spots he and my brother frequented, like The Great Neck Diner. Today I decided to go Greek. I got the Spinach Pie special with comes with a wonderful Greek salad and soup. Both were flavorful, Rich and had creamy sauce. Several hours later I can still taste the buttery blend. I finished with a recommended Neapolitan desert. Wow. I had to get directions how to approach it and it was amazing. This diner was incredible. I'm a born & raised New Yorker and diners really can be a hit or miss but this spot by far deserves all the credit. They won best diner for 2021-2023 and I can absolutely tell why. I was in the area due to needing to be by the nearby hospital at Northwell, this meal was a supreme way to lift spirits. Omega Diner is one of the best diners in the area. We were seated immediately and Jerry our attentive waiter took our drink order. We started with well done onion rings. They arrived hot and crispy. A definite must order. For mains, we had chicken souvlaki, a Belgian waffle, and an eggplant parm panini, with well done fries. Again, all dishes arrived hot, and were delicious, even though the fries were not well done as requested. Another item to order is the chocolate fudge cake. (They have two different chocolate cakes so make sure you ask for the dark fudge one). Sometimes I go there and pick up a few slices to go. It's beyond incredible. My sister and I had breakfast at the Omega Dinner after a doctor's appointment two weeks ago. The waiter was ok in the beginning... but that didn't last long. We asked for one decaf coffee and two waters. He returned to our table with one water and two coffees. (Only my sister drinks coffee.) This is when our waiter starts being lest pleasant. He was adamant that we ordered two cups of coffee. We assured him that we only ordered one cup of coffee... he walked away in a bit of a huff as he took one of coffees away. I had a few questions about menu, because I'm a vegetarian. I asked what type of oil were the fries cooked in. He looked as if I had no right/reason to ask a question... After a few other questions, we asked for a few more minutes. He walked away, rolling his eyes. We should have left the dinner then! My sister is diabetic and needed to eat... I ordered the brioche french toast. It had no flavor at all. It was a giant piece of fried bread. Our waiter brought out as small, open container of butter before the my meal. The butter had crumbs in it, as if someone used the butter for their toast!!! I told the waiter that I would like individual wrapped servings of butter like the couple across from us. Well, the waiter huffed off, without an apology mind you, and returned with the wrapped butters. This waiter never once asked how the food was or if there was anything he could do for us once our food was delivered. I did not leave a tip!!! That was such a disappointing experience. read more

First Impressions - nostalgia. This place reminds me of all the late night diners I would eat at after a long night out during my college day. We came here on a Sunday for brunch after my husband got off work, so we were surrounded by the post-church crowd as well as the Sunday brunch old couples who eat here regularly. Sanjay and I spoke about how we would love to create a tradition of eating here until we are both old and grey like the couple at the diner eating at the bar. Except we promised we would continue to talk (the couple sat in comfortable silence watching TV) The Noms - normal diner food... eggs, bacon, home fries, pancakes... the usual. I adore a diner. Breakfasts at any time of day. Burgers, fries, junk food or even platters of every meal imaginable. Dessert too! Food makes me happy. It was 2pm on a Sunday and I did a Yelp search for "burgers" because I was absolutely hankering for just that, and of course seeing diners pop up on the results I looked over the reviews and saw this one had some positives by my fellow yelpers and drove on over. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, I smothered it with whipped butter and syrup and I was hooked! I'm sort of a pancake snob and these pancakes rank pretty high on my pancake scale :) Nice size parking lot, clean interior with partitions set up between most tables. Omega diner is amazing! My aunt has been coming here for years and recommended we try it. Service is great -- quick and efficient even during busy times. The menu is huge and there is something for everyone. The greek chicken plate / salad is the best I've ever had -- with juicy (not dry or overcooked) chicken! My kids loved the pancakes and waffles.
