Plenty of parking in the back. When you walk in, you can't help how spacious it is. The furniture is up to date. You can tell the staff here is very seasoned. Great to see. But along with it, the staff, including the person who brings the food - are all Long Islanders. lol. You don't get warm and fuzzy, but that's what gives this place character. Our waitress was very nice and came around to fill our coffee. They have a pretty extensive menu and have some dishes that you don't typically see on a menu. I had the French Dip Burger. I'd rate ok. I would agree that the food isn't service is good. But the bathrooms are disgraceful. It always smells of strong urine and sticky floors .. probably from people missing the toilet when they urinate. The last I went to this restaurant was 2 years ago. I used the bathroom and discovered stool on the toilet seat. After that, I vowed never to return to this diner again! Cobb salad was on point - very fresh blue cheese was delicious and so was the bacon - cream cheese bagel with lox was good my daughter didn't want to assemble it and asked for extra cream cheese! Good drinks orange juice, unsweetened iced tea and diet coke with ice . Always corteous food servers here - Very pricey though salads were $21 each bagel with lox over $17. Each time I go to the Landmark Diner I am happy with my meal! It is a very large diner with two floors but usually seating is only on the first floor. Parking used to be difficult but the building next door is now vacant so parking is plentiful. Service was good - not necessarily friendly but he was attentive. We made the mistake of giving this another try. Scrambled eggs soft with bacon on a roll - should be easy for a diner at 9:30 am - nope. Service incredibly slow, even just to get coffee. Finally ordered, waited forever for food. The eggs were barely scrambled - probably on the flattop and not in a bowl. The only thing scrambled soft were the uncooked whites. The bacon was folded into the eggs and not evenly distributed - ok, admittedly a little picky on my part. We are going to do a quick update here as this diner certainly still holds up. Not as great as it was last time I went, but I would keep this diner as a full four star spot. Came here initially to dine myself and then was met by my dad. I was seated by the counter at one of the smaller booths, which is great because I love dining in this area usually. Shout out to the woman who actually sat at the counter and ordered a glass of Merlot at 11:25am on a Tuesday. Do we all need to get on her level? Went simple this time and got the cole slaw with pickles and a French onion soup. The cole slaw was solid and the pickles were pretty generic. The French onion soup left something to be desired. It was jammed pack with cheese, onion straws and bread, but it just lacked flavor. The French onion grilled cheese I had on an earlier visit was a lot better and I think that's what I was hoping for. Finally, this diner is on the corner of Searington Road and Northern Blvd. so it's a great spot to meet someone quick for a cup of coffee, or for lunch. Well done burger came out lukewarm !! Skirt Steak came out warm and totally raw on the thicker side !!! Onion Rings, also came out warm at best !!! Mac & Cheese, Zero taste out of the can & cold !! The waiter wanted to make it right and bring the food back but we were done !!!! The owner then comes over and apologizes and tells us desserts on the house, we were like really the entire bill should have been on the house !! A disgrace of an establishment I actually asked the owner if the dishwasher was doing the cooking ??? because we all know it does happen !!! Stay away, definitely can't and will not recommend !!! Been to the Landmark diner many times. Last time I went for lunch with my coworkers, it's a big menu and good for a large group. After this last time, I won't be joining them again. I got the zucchini panini, the menu made it sound great, it was terrible. The flatbread it was on was not good and it fell apart. The time before that I got chicken fingers because you can really mess those up and they weren't not tasty at all. Stick with a BLT and mozz sticks. This is evidently their style, because when the waiter finally came over, he did not ask if we wanted drinks. He asked if we were ready to order. The food they serve has always been up to par. I often come with my wife, family and friends. Everyone that has come have always had good things to say. I've been coming to this diner since I was a baby and it was in competition with Scobee diner for many decades. In the last several years, Landmark moved 1 space over on Northern Blvd and upgraded to a 2 level massive space. They changed their entire menu to include more fun and trendy foods like Mac & cheese bites and Asian inspired fusion appetizers. Huge burgers with lots of different toppings and other flavorful classic dishes. While the food is great, prices not so much but that seems to be everywhere in these times, the staff really needs a whole makeover. The last several times I've come here with different people and every waiter or waitress I get is a sad, miserable and not very friendly person. It's like they woke up in the morning and literally said to themselves, "I hate life, but I'll make some money and not care how I act towards the people I'm actually making money from." While I truly enjoy the food, it's not worth to come here to be waited on by people who don't give a crap how they treat people. Last time I was here, our waiter was not nice, didn't even introduce himself, just said what can I get for you, wouldn't let me finish a sentence or ask questions. It seems they took away the credit card charge which is very interesting considering how much they've already accrued from charging over the last 5 years. I saw my 2 scrambled eggs were $10.95 on the main menu but on the to-go menu, it's $9.95. When I asked a waiter that seemed to want to help us at the register he says, "That's just the way it is." The space is a unique layout for a diner. Parking was ample and easy to find. I ordered the flatbread pizza and the cheese blintzes. My spouse ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict. My flatbread looked a bit underwhelming but my son devoured it without hesitation. It's not a lot of slices for $11.95. Someone on Yelp posted a photo of the cheese blintzes. While it's not something I usually order, the blintzes were delicious! Nice thin crepe wrapper, slightly sweet and filled with a mild cheese. My spouse said his English muffin and home fries were burnt. It's too bad because seems like the food can be hit or miss here. They had only one waiter assigned, and I felt very bad for him. He was taking care of everything from taking the orders, distributing beverages and food and anything else needed by the group.
