Probably one of the better diners I ate at, the food was good but jalapeños was a going bad, it's expected. The service was nice, and atmosphere was typical diner style. Will definitely be back

Good service, good food. Got the deluxe chicken wrap plus avocado and fries. Family tried burgers and waffles looked pretty good. The fountain soda was a little flat but otherwise everything here was good. It's pretty close to NYU labgobe hospital with some limited parking space, but street parking readily available

Great fast service. Everything was so good. We were visiting Hofstra and while a little drive was well worth it. Love the ambiance of the place. Will definitely be going back next time we are in town!

Retro diner with typical long issuance customer service. Food was ok, not the best with cups and dish hygiene. I might eat here again only if I'm feeling retro diner experience within the area.

Great breakfast, friendly and fast service and charming old style diner. It's small so there's not a lot of space for larger groups.

This is an update of an older review. This diner is in the official registry of "original diners" and pictured in most of the books on these places. The place is amazing and the owners Mike & Shane are wonderful owners and hosts. We there for breakfast and it was truly a memorable experience. I was there with my wife and two friends. You're greeted with a smile and welcome. It is small and seating is limited but there was plenty of space for us in the side room. The food here is just amazing this morning we had the Trough which are eggs with a little of everything else mixed in. There were a couple of omelettes that are always incredibly tasty and I had the banana-buttermilk pancakes (with scrambled eggs). These were amazing-tasty-fluffy. Essentially, delicious!!! I am a member of multiple organizations and we all use this diner for meetings. It is the perfect venue with the perfect menu and great service!

Very good small yet friendly classic diner. My son and I stopped by a Sunday morning around 9am for breakfast and both pleasantly surprised of their overall taste and portion size. Parking lot is small but plenty street parking nearby.

The Mineola Diner is cozy and old-fashioned, staffed with friendly servers who are attentive and quick with the service. It's a great place to enjoy classic diner food in a nostalgic setting. They offer a weekend brunch menu that changes every once in a while. Definitely try their pancakes-they're heavenly good.

That being said, on September 23rd I was in search of something new and exciting and I was guided to Thomas's Ham & Eatery. I have passed Thomas's Ham & Eatery over a dozen times, and thought that the parking lot was rather small so I just kept it moving. Driving into the confined area, I found parking immediately with room to spare. Stepping inside of Thomas's Ham & Eater, a wave of happiness hit me--bright, sudden, and uplifting, like the effervescence from a freshly popped bottle of champagne. The happy atmosphere of the dining area was so contagious I immediately followed suit and put on a happy face. Looking around the restaurant and soaking it all in , I saw tons of people enjoying their meal while listening to groovy sounds such as; The Eagles - Peaceful Easy feeling, Bonnie Tyler- Total Eclipse of my heart, and so much more, but I got overly excited when Elton John & Kiki Dee's- Don't Go Breaking My Heart came on. I was in full sing along mode as I was seated. Now, I would love to talk about the food and service. The restaurant was clean and tables were freshly wiped. My waitress provided impeccable service as she stayed in catering mode. She supplied everything that I needed with kindness and passion. She was very patient and did not mind coming back to see when I was actually ready to order after looking over the menu. I went totally off the grid and ordered Cajun Omelette. It consisted of Louisiana Andouille Sausage (LAS), Tomato, Scallions & Green Peppers, and served with Home Fries & Toast- $16.45. Despite the small amount of LAS, the omelette was a grand slam. I really enjoyed it, the home fries had a few peppers and onions and just enough burn to let you know that they were not entirely overcooked but you will have that crunch. I did ask for lite butter on the rye toast, instead I received enough butter to lubricate bicycle gears, I scrapped it off and kept it moving, no harm no foul, keeping a positive vibe. The coffee was just as good and I really enjoyed it as well. I give Thomas's Ham & Eatery 3 1/2 stars but the atmosphere and tone boosts it up to 5 stars, I will definitely be returning for another HAPPY MEAL! Inspire more, Yelp more!

Other than that little bit of confusion, everything else was good. Because the hospital and several doctor's offices are nearby, you'll notice a lot of hospital workers and people in scrubs coming in for breakfast and lunch, which is always a good sign. Walking in, we were greeted right away and told we could sit wherever we wanted. The service was good, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a diner classic diner ambiance and casual vibes. The food was definitely yummy overall. I had the eggs over medium with corned beef hash and home fries, and that was really good. My partner had the bacon omelet, and he said the quality of the bacon was really good and that they were generous with the amount they put inside the omelet. He also ordered french fries, which he wasn't really a fan of. They had a thicker consistency and didn't have much flavor, but they weren't terrible either. One disappointment was finding out they no longer serve waffles, because I was definitely looking forward to a Belgian waffle. We ended up getting pancakes instead, and honestly, I wouldn't recommend them. The pancake was kind of weird it didn't absorb the syrup at all, and the syrup itself tasted watered down. I'd say stick to the main breakfast items and you'll be perfectly fine.

I was alone and despite being semi-crowded, there wasn't a wait. This place definitely gives a hole in the wall vibe and that's what I wanted. There are plenty of "brunch vibes" in Long Island and that's not what I was looking for today. Service was super prompt and the food came quick, less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Mexican omelette which was eggs, shredded chicken and oaxacan cheese. I expected the chicken and cheese to be cooked into the omelette - it was actually an egg omelette with the chicken and cheese folded inside. No complaints though; when I had enough eggs, I was able to eat just the chicken. It was well seasoned and not doused in cheese, which I appreciated. Note to self: no sour cream next time. It was unnecessary. The omelette came with a side of home fries. The home fries were the perfect mix of soft and crispy, with onions and peppers. They tasted great. It also came with toast and I added avocado, and made avocado toast... YUM. I had an iced coffee on the side. Nothing special about the coffee- not good or bad. They had almond milk and sugar-free vanilla... yay! Lastly, I took a sausage omelette with sweet potato chips to go for my son and he loved it. I would definitely come back. The restaurant was pretty empty, which we assumed was because of the holiday. We were greeted right away and seated in a booth. Personally, I found the booth to feel a little closed in, and I wish I had asked for a regular four-person table instead. Our menus and waters were brought out promptly. After ordering, my husband and I were served pickles and coleslaw. My husband enjoyed the pickles, but the coleslaw was pretty bland and dry. My husband ordered the steak panini with potato salad. He said the sandwich was good, but the steak could have used a lot more seasoning and flavor. The potato salad, however, was delicious. I ordered a panini as well. The sandwich itself was good, but it came without any mayo or other condiment, so the bread tasted a little dry. Even a bit of pesto or aioli would have made a big difference. Our 13-year-old ordered the chicken and waffles, and the portion was enormous! It came with four pieces of chicken and a huge waffle. She really enjoyed it. Our 9-year-old ordered the s'mores pancakes and absolutely loved them. They came with plenty of butter and syrup on the side. The menu advertised Jarritos sodas, but unfortunately they didn't have the flavor one of my daughters wanted, so she chose strawberry instead. My youngest ended up getting an apple juice, and I was honestly shocked when I saw it was $5.25 on the bill. Our waiter was excellent throughout the meal. He was attentive, kept our water glasses full, and made sure we had everything we needed. One disappointment was the fountain Coke. I don't drink soda very often, but every now and then I love an ice-cold fountain Coke. Unfortunately, this one was flat. The restroom was clean, but the tables felt a little sticky, and the jukebox didn't appear to be working. Overall, we had a pleasant experience thanks to the friendly service and the generous portions. There are a few things the restaurant could improve, especially with seasoning, condiments on the sandwiches, and checking things like the soda machine and table cleanliness. We'd consider coming back if we're in the area again, but we'd probably try different menu items next time.

The dining room is anchored by an olive tree that rises improbably from the center of the floor, its branches catching the light from a constellation of milk-glass globes. Along the bar, bottles glow against whitewashed brick, and the marble counter is set with striped linen napkins. The effect is part farmhouse and part supper club, and it is more inviting than either would be on its own. The menu favors familiar dishes executed with care. A glazed salmon arrives lacquered and deeply caramelized at the edges, resting on wilted spinach and a bright hash of corn, peas, and shallot, all bound by a butter sauce worth chasing with a fork. The fish sandwich is a study in restraint: a well-seasoned, pan-crisped fillet, a soft brioche bun, and a tangle of slaw, with a plump pickle and coleslaw alongside, as tradition demands. Dessert is where The Shed allows itself some indulgence. A dense, fudgy brownie, dusted with powdered sugar and set beside a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting into chocolate sauce, recalls childhood without apology. Notably, the restaurant takes its non-alcoholic drinks seriously. The mocktail list is broad and thoughtful, a welcome gesture of hospitality toward diners who would rather skip the spirits without skipping the fun. Service, led on this evening by a warm and unhurried server, matched the room. Tables linger here, and no one seems to mind. The Shed isn't trying to reinvent anything.
