This place has been on my To Do list for awhile. I popped in on a random Saturday around 11am while I was running errands. I was alone and despite being semi-crowded, there wasn't a wait. This place definitely gives a hole in the wall vibe and that's what I wanted. There are plenty of "brunch vibes" in Long Island and that's not what I was looking for today. Service was super prompt and the food came quick, less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Mexican omelette which was eggs, shredded chicken and oaxacan cheese. I expected the chicken and cheese to be cooked into the omelette - it was actually an egg omelette with the chicken and cheese folded inside. No complaints though; when I had enough eggs, I was able to eat just the chicken. It was well seasoned and not doused in cheese, which I appreciated. Note to self: no sour cream next time. It was unnecessary. The omelette came with a side of home fries. The home fries were the perfect mix of soft and crispy, with onions and peppers. They tasted great. It also came with toast and I added avocado, and made avocado toast... YUM. I had an iced coffee on the side. Nothing special about the coffee- not good or bad. They had almond milk and sugar-free vanilla... yay! Lastly, I took a sausage omelette with sweet potato chips to go for my son and he loved it. I would definitely come back. When they speak about 'hidden gems,' The Chef's Corner stands out big and bold. This is just an amazing place with amazing food and an extremely friendly-helpful team. Very centrally located in downtown MIneola by the entrance to the LIRR train station. Very close to NYU Langone Hospital. I have known about Chef's Corner for years and I am embarrassed to say that I have not sat down for a meal. Fairly easy parking with plenty of meters on the same street and just around the corner across from the train station. Plenty of light inside with all the windows and when it's warm outside, they open up to the two garage doors in front. We met our friends here who are regulars and I was really looking forward to this breakfast. We definitely sat and talked for a while sine we were celebrating my wfe's first day of retirement. Orders: - Three eggs over easy with well done bacon. - Farmers's Omelette: Scrambled eggs, sausage, peppers, onions with potatoes. - Two fried eggs over very hard (dead) - - Pancakes with al kinds of goodies on it. Giving reviews are, first visit and then rate and review after or during the visit. Well, this review is a bit different due to the fact that I have eaten at The Chef's Corner three times, not remembering to give my review., so her it is. Coming to The Chef's Corner I found a strip of metered parking on the same street of the restaurant which was very convenient. Walking inside, the spacious corner location was immediately bright, with natural sunlight pouring in and giving the space a warm, inviting aura. A young man by the name of Matt, approached me, gave me a stellar greeting, and inquired how he can help me. I replied in like manner and took a seat as he directed. Matt was very professional and thorough, providing impeccable service, asking all of the right question to accommodate me better, e.g. what I will be drinking, coffee, water, honey, sugar anything else before you make your order. He gave me the menu and of course questions did arise. Matt's ability to answer my questions pertaining to different dishes, was very relieving and satisfying, the thing I noticed most, he did not miss a stride or stammer, he was totally confident and self-assured, answering with a smile and pleasant tone. I finally ordered the scrambled eggs mixed with diced steak @ 1$17.68. It came with peppers, onion, tortilla chips, Monterey Jack Cheese, homemade sweet potato chips & guacamole. Matt provide a spicey chipotle sauce. Although the meal was delicious as it was, the spicey sauce kicked a field goal and scored tremendously. Just the right heat and not saturating the meal with spiciness. The Sweet potato chips had two textures, crunchie and a few pieces were too supple, regardless, it paired well with the guacamole. In conclusion, I did not mind the suggested tip indicated on the receipt and I do prefer it at times when the wait staff performs sup par but a 22% was a great injustice and an insult so, in my appreciation, I gave well above that. I am so pleased with this restaurant, in comparison to my first and second visit, the service is consistent being five stars all around. Last week friends and I had an amazing breakfast/brunch experience at Mineola's Chef's Corner! The caramel latte was a game-changer - creamy, rich, and that caramel drizzle though! Paired it with their mouthwatering omelet, crispy potatoes, and it was the perfect start to the day. The steak quesadilla didn't disappoint either - perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and those toppings! My friend's French toast was indulgent, topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, and powdered sugar. Service was top-notch, and the cozy atmosphere had us feeling right at home. The pancakes 100% live up to the hype! They are so light and fluffy. Smell and taste incredible. Definitely my new pancake spot. This spot is so unfussy. It's a simple menu but the quality is top tier. I loveeee their sweet potato crisps with their guacamole sauce. I would buy a bag and tub of them easily. The service is great. They work as a team so you don't get one particular server. But they are all fantastic. Note that it does get busy fast plus they do take out orders. Me and my plus one stopped by Chef's Corner in Mineola for a quick bite to eat for breakfast and ended up really impressed. I ordered eggs with diced steak and a side of sweet potato chips, very simple, but everything was spot-on. The eggs were cooked just right (not runny or soft), and the diced steak was flavorful, tender, and nicely seasoned. What really stood out were the sweet potato chips, perfectly crisp, not greasy, and with just the right touch of natural sweetness. You can tell they take pride in doing the basics well. I was in the mood for breakfast and haven't been able to find eggs- so i looked for a neighborhood place with delivery option and found The Chef's Corner. I am so glad i did! I ordered custom eggs scrambled with feta cheese- the eggs were purrrrrfectly scrambled! Moist and not burnt or dry like some places- with just the right amount of little feta cubes mixed in to have melted just enough to be part of the scramble. The potatoes were also moist and fresh. The toast was cold but not overly toasted so i could pop the bread into the toaster for a minute. I don't drink coffee usually, but as i was in the mood today i ordered one, and i was pleasantly surprised that their coffee arrived hot and also tasted good (not like an old paper filter). Thanks! More recently I've tried their steak and eggs special for brunch. The chimichurri was DELICIOUS AND FRESH! I asked for my steak cooked to medium and it was well done. So far, just walked in with my service dog and they are telling me I can't have him here. This is what happens when you have people get certificates for so called service dogs. So when the server told me I couldn't have my service dog I asked her for a manager. She went to the back and came back to tell us that the Sanitation Dept told them they can't have dogs. I told her he isn't a pet. He's a service dog. Then she said oh well the manager said as long as he stays under the table. I'm like ok but you need to understand the difference between a regular dog and a service dog who is wearing his license. All of the sudden a old man wearing a chefs coat asked me if I'm BLIND. I'm like what?? Only blind people can have a service dog?? Proves that they have no idea between what a regular pet is and what a service dog is. So I'd like to know what Sanitation Dept to report them too and who at the sanitation dept should we report for saying that service dogs aren't allowed in restaurants? Needless to say... we left. I am absolutely obsessed with the Chef's corner. I am not even kidding when I say this. We decided to try them one Sunday and ever since then we have been hooked. Here are the reasons why: 1. The food is delicious, it's not your typical breakfast spot or diner, this is some flavorful breakfast. 2. The place is clean and convenient 3. The staff is super friendly, no matter who serves you! 4. The prices are very decent for them quality I've had the sausage frittata and the shrimp omelette, both as delish! The pancakes come with berries and bananas and are also so yummy! The breakfast dishes all come with a side of toast or homemade muffin, get the muffins their are delish and come with a side of jam. The Chef's Corner is a brunch spot for my other half and I. We've dined in a handful of times, mostly because I am craving a smoked salmon Eggs Benedict. There aren't any bells or whistles and the decor is minimal at best, but service and food are great and it keeps me coming back. I love that their Benedict is served over warm biscuits and my fiance enjoys their burgers and sandwiches. My only wish is for their cappuccino to be slightly larger haha, but besides that this is and will continue to be one of our usual go-tos. read more

My boyfriend and I tried the eggs Benedict and it was delicious. I think my favorite thing on the menu. This place has gone down substantially in terms of food. I've ordered here twice in the past two months. Both times my food came with little to no salt on it. It wasn't tasty in the least bit. Oddly enough it looked like it should be flavorful but tasted very bland. The last time I ordered from here, I ordered for avocado for an additional fee. The avocado was beyond brown and clearly not good. I threw it out, but the fact that the cook saw that avocado and deemed it good enough to put on my food is ridiculous. I read the review posted today about the incident over the service animal and the refusal of entrance. Also the ridiculous and ignorant comments of asking her if she was blind. As a veteran with a service animal, I have never been refused service anywhere in the USA except here in New York. It's a shame how inclusiveness, equity and diversion only applies to certain communities but not veterans or people that have REAL service animals. I will report this to the local Better Business Bureau and local Veterans Affairs. You don't have the right to refuse service to actual service animals that have their credentials and patches listed. Educate yourself and learn how to respect people. Service dogs are every bit protected by federal law against any form of discrimination. Absolutely LOVE this place. I wish I had the time to sit and dine in in the restaurant but every time I come, it's because I have a small break in between my classes to grab food. I've been here twice and the food has never disappointed. When you walk in, I feel like it's a tad dark in there but it's not necessarily a bad thing at all.
