However when we arrived a very agitated "manager" refused to seat us and finally conceded to serve us take out. 2 more diners came In behind me. One for only Coffee and both were turned away. When one of those diners asked what was going on and why were they closing early his reply was "I'm tired and I want to go home". I've been in the restaurant business 20 years. You don't close your establishment early because you're "tired". I hope at least he was the owner and then could have a say. But if my manager closed my place early and turned away guests there would be hell to pay. NOT a way to run a restaurant. Won't be going back anytime soon. Being a good customer of this diner in Astoria, we decided to try this one today. But it was a bad experience! We had to wait over 40 minutes for a chicken kabab though it was not crowded at all. And we had huge chunks of unchewable chicken pieces on a bad quality rice. And it had a heavy sauce(on a kabab!) And not cheap too. read more

We went here on a Sunday early afternoon around 11am. Great thing, We got seated right away which was great especially with COVID restrictions. They serve fresh OJ. My boyfriend was not thrilled with his neptune omelette( not tasty). I had the chicken avocado sandwhich, it was not one of the best I've had. Very plain and doesn't give enough chicken. These people in my opinion are crooks. They doubled charged me for meal of over $125. I was stupid enough to give them a $25 tip. Their office doesn't seem to have time to speak to me but they respond almost immediately to the credit card company saying there were two charges. So if you want to be double charged for a meal this is the place. They do give large portions but the food is mostly mediocre. My hamburger was good but it was a hamburger. read more

Amazing service, best service. They have the kitchen and waitstaff down to a science. Long lines but quick seating and your meal comes out fast and your water stays full. Always clean. Never a sticky seat. Everything on the menu is good. Never got a meal here I didn't like - all across breakfast lunch and dinner AND dessert, it's all good. I love this diner and will continue to come here with my family and friends. Literally have zero complaints. i only keep coming back here because it's the closest local diner to me. the prices are too high and the quality of the food we order is always is terrible on delivery. i don't understand why when ordering sandwiches or burgers, the vegetables are constantly DRENCHED in water. it's like they put it under water to rinse and just smack it on right away. all bread and fries are then mushy... i just got a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato today, and the entire underside of my sandwich was straight mush, like a sponge. i tried to dry it w a paper towel, no dice. i tried to eat it as an open sandwich but it all just fell apart. i really have to stop ordering from here. read more

Started going to Neptune Bayside a few months ago. Food was good, service very nice until last three visits. Earlier visits the food was still good, but same waiter kept forgetting parts of the orders. On one occasion, he told us he had to leave because someone in his family had a stomach disorder. Turned out he hadn't even told the manager he was leaving. Last visit on 1/10/21 ordered hot open turkey sandwich with turkey gravy. Turkey was very dry, and got brown, watery gravy. My wife ordered a burger which was okay. Spoke to manager about my order and previous visits, and he gave me a burger plate, and wrote off our whole order. Previous visit we were offered dessert. That's nice, but would rather not have to deal with these issues. Won't be going back any time soon, if at all. Many other places to eat in this area. read more

I have been going to Neptune for six months. It's out of my way except I go because it's clean, reasonably priced in comparison to other diners, food and service good too. I went here with Jeff and Hideiki, and the food was tremendous. Jeff ordered the veal parm hero and lobster bisque zoup. Hideiki ordered Raisin Bran which had extra raisins. I ordered the chicken souv platter. Everything was phenomenal, though Hideiki complained that there was no lettuce in the Greek Salad, but it was done the Greek way, and of course my dear Hideiki had no idea, and decided to make a nice fire breathing dragon! When I saw they were redoing the diner, I expected some nice upgrades, but honestly walking in, it seems as if they regressed. The place is void of any personality. The food is fine, it's typical diner food, and the staff is what you'd expect, but this place is so bland, it's really a shame compared to what it used to be. Also the country pop station they had on the radio was starting to make my ears bleed during my 45 min stay. Every song was about whiskey, I'd really rather no music at all. My husband and I had a fabulous dinner and breakfast at the Neptune Diner. It was one of our highlights visiting Queens for the US Open. The restaurant was spotless and the staff was friendly and efficient. I had the quinoa salad.... it was delicious and enough for two people. My husband loved his BLT.
