We went to celebrate birthdays and we had a fabulous time! We were allowed to order from the prefixed menu on a Sunday night and so we did. We added some appetizers. The food service and ambiance were all perfect. We were surprised that the restaurant had been around for 15 yrs and we didn't discover it earlier. Needless to say, it's worth another visit!

Came for lunch around 2:30 and had their lunch prefix menu which was 3 courses for $40(?). Service was excellent. Super attentive. Restaurant has a lot of comfortable seating. All the food we ordered was very good and the portion was big. The seabass was cooked well and had a good portion of vegetables on the side. The pork chop was also well cooked with good flavors and not dry. The lunch menu is def worth it and will be back!

Came here for the first time last week. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It's a very cute ambiance. They have a selection of options to choose from on their menu. We ordered Zucchini chips and Calamari for appetizer...Both very good! My friend ordered the baby arugula salad and it was delicious!!! I tried a bite and let me say I wanted to eat it for her! I ordered the Lox Benedict, I was so full from just the appetizers(appetizers are pretty big portions) that I couldn't finish the Benedict but it was delicious to say the least. For drinks, we ordered Iced Cappuccinos and we thought they were very watered down. Our server Jason was great...he was very attentive and efficient. I will be back to try your Risotto Croquettes :)

Celebrated Valentine's Day here. They have only Valentine's Day menu for $85 per person. I was upset at the very beginning because I expected order dishes my own but then we can only choose main course from a set menu. However, after enjoying the service here, I think $85 was still valuable. It contains one appetizer, one main course and one dessert. The service was really good here, staffs were caring and polite. Appetizer we choose salad and Coconut Shrimp. I really recommend the Coconut Shrimp. The Shrimp was giant and very crispy. Only 3 shrimps per dish but I think it's still good portion for appetizer. Main course we choose steak and Scollop Risotto. The steak was tender, which was out of my expect. Risotto was also above average. We were mostly full on the half way of main course, since they also provided free bread. Dessert we choose Chocolate Lava Cake and Cheese Cake. Both taste really good! And we packed the left over home. Overall I had a good experience celebrating Valentine's Day here. ------------------------ 店名:Veranda Restaurant & Cafe 208-01 Northern Blvd Bayside, NY 11361 United States

Great outdoor space and great food! Came in with a friend for dinner and it did not disappoint. We started with the zucchini chips. Super tasty and came stacked high! The tzatziki dipping sauce was super tasty and the perfect pair. For dinner we split the bronzini and the risotto because we couldn't decide! The bronzini is cooked whole and offered deboned. Perfect! No messing with bones at the table! The scallop risotto was rich and creamy and topped with delicious scallops. I appreciated that for a Saturday night they didn't rush us! Plenty of time to hang out and ease our way through appetizers and dinner. Definitely would recommend for a nice dinner outside with some drinks and good food!

I can't believe I have not shared a review here. This is the best Greek in bayside. The restaurant is large and comfy inside. The service is out of this world. They have by far the best zucchini chips and dipping sauce. Most places serve red sauce they serve tzatziki which is delicious!!!!!!!

I live around the neighborhood and pass it all the time heading to the highway. I feel like this restaurant has been taken for granted. It has a beautiful outdoor dining area and inside - very high end and classy. You can definitely bring a date here! We ordered food off the brunch menu. I ordered the arugula salad with chicken and it was surprisingly delicious. The frittata, French toast was also decent. The food came out in a decent amount of time. The waiter was attentive. I would definitely be coming back!

This is a very spacious restaurant both indoors and out - great for a large party - I love how the outside is covered and gives you a private, protected feeling without the unforgiving sun beaming down on your head. They are hospitable and attentive. However, the food was a bit bland for my taste. I had the eggs Benedict and my friend had the crab cake burger. We both thought it was just ok, nothing special. There might be better things on the menu but doing an eggs Benedict well is usually a good indicator of the quality of the food. Maybe just me? Welp, we decided to get drunk instead and then everything was better lol. I might give another go for dinner just because they were so nice. :)

This is by far the worst brunch I've ever been to. The ambiance is weird, wrong order, food was very subpar and the service is horrible. No wonder this place has 5 tables on Saturday and the weather is beautiful !

Came her for brunch this holiday weekend. Traffic was light probably because of it. There is street parking available. The cafe was fairly easy to find on Northern Blvd. Had the avocado toast which very good. My other companions had the Greek frittata which was ok and they found bland. The California omelette was very good. As long as we were not sitting by the speakers, we were able to converse comfortably. Service was attentive and efficient. There is a credit surcharge. Folding patio doors open to plenty of outdoor seating. It is away from the bustle of Bell. Will be back!

I've been here…read moremany times, and my usual orders--the Grilled Chicken Breast, Beef Souvlaki, crispy Calamari, or the small meat platter--are consistently fantastic. There is something truly special about their seasoning that makes every single dish amazing. What really sets Maria's apart, besides the incredible food, is the outstanding hospitality. Maria and her staff treat everyone like family from the moment you walk through the door. It's that rare, warm atmosphere combined with consistently delicious food that makes this a place I always look forward to returning to. Food (5/5): Consistent and amazing. The seasoning is excellent, whether you're getting the juicy grilled chicken, perfect souvlaki, or the crispy calamari. Customer Service (5/5): Exceptional. There's a lovely rustic, yet high end vibe. It's also immaculate. Our server was fantastic...just the right balance of friendly, attentive and helpful. It was hard to choose appetizers because I actually wanted one of each. There aren't a lot of Mediterranean choices near where I live currently so my eyes were definitely WAY bigger than my stomach. That said, we shared the halloumi and three different dips served with warm pita. Then we added a last minute choice of grilled sweet sausage for my stepdad. Before we even received our appetizers, they brought a lovely pile of warm pita with delicious sides to accompany: olives, white bean spread, and red pepper hummus (I believe... whatever it was, it was delicious!). The appetizers were outstanding and it was really hard to pick a favorite. Each one of the dips was delightful: taramasalata, hummus, and eggplant. I tasted a bite of the sausage and I understood why my stepdad enjoyed it so much (perfectly cooked and just the right amount of seasoning). The appetizers were new to my mom and she truly enjoyed everything. Her main course was crabcakes and she raved about those as well. I chose the Souvlaki with a side of grilled vegetables and it was exactly what I wanted with perfectly spiced and not overcooked cubes of chicken. The other grilled chicken dish got a huge thumbs up...and that's from a super picky eater. We topped everything off by sharing a large piece of cake that was very decadent....and even though I love chocolate,.... no way I could've finished it by myself. It had an Oreo crust and the rest was a rich chocolate mousse. Next time? Baklava. Looking forward to going back to visit the fam and enjoying Maria's again. Maybe they can open up a location near Saratoga? Just saying...

He had been here before and had good things to say - since I'm a fan of Greek food, it only made sense for us to stop here, so off we went. There's no shortage of Greek restaurants in Bayside, and Avli sits among several of them on Bell Blvd. The space has a somewhat casual set up, but it's not too laid back - kinda caught in between. The restaurant is larger than I expected, with a front area containing booths, a back room with tables, and even further back they have a spacious outdoor seating area. The decor isn't too noteworthy - simple and inoffensive. The menu contained classic Greek dishes but also a few more items I wasn't familiar with. They started us with a plate of pita and tzatziki; a standard, but I thought their tzatziki was one of the better ones I've had; smooth and full of flavor. We also ordered the keftedakia and honey feta to start; the former were probably the weakest component of our meal, they had flavor but were over-fried. The honey feta was very good - lots of honey to balance the cheese, but surprisingly not heavy. For my main, I got the grilled stuffed chicken, which came with my choice of sour or salad (I got the former) and side (I chose lemon potatoes). For soups, my brother recommended the avgolemono which was delicious - the combination of the chicken, orzo, broth, and lemon worked really well together. The stuffed chicken itself was delicious - the meat itself was pounded thin, and balanced really well with the feta and spinach stuffing. I'm too used to stuffed chicken dishes being haphazardly assembled, but I can tell this was made with care. Service was very good - the whole team was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, I had a great meal Avli - it's some of the best Greek food I've had in a while (take my non-Greek opinion as you will), and I would definitely consider returning if I'm in the area again.

The menu has very detailed, almost elevated descriptions that make everything sound spectacular, but in practice the flavors don't quite come through, especially the sauces, which are barely noticeable. Our server was flexible when we asked to swap the potato chips for fries on the kids' grilled cheese meal, which we appreciated. However, we were then charged $1.40 for a side of ranch for the fries. I understand they have a range of specialty sauces and dips that are clearly priced on the menu, but that still felt steep for ranch. They also offer a combo option to add fries for $5, but the portion doesn't really feel aligned with the price. The steak sandwich itself was surprisingly tender, even though it looked like it might be tough. That said, I couldn't taste the roasted red pepper sauce, and the "sweet onion jam" turned out to just be caramelized onions. My mother actually ended up picking them out because she doesn't eat onions. (she won't eat onions that she can see) The buffalo cauliflower was tasty, but could have been crispier. The "serves two" description also felt a bit generous given the small portion. I also ordered a brisket sandwich to go with fries. The coleslaw sounded great on the menu, but in reality the flavors didn't stand out, no real hint of jalapeño, just a fairly standard slaw. Overall, the food descriptions felt more impressive than the actual execution, though the to-go fries portion was more generous, which was a nice surprise. Would I go back? I'm not sure. Maybe for a casual visit with a few beers and fries with an assortment of dipping sauces...I am a sucker for those.
