Monday 6:30pm dinner, I made a reservation to catch up with an old coworker/friend. The menu is quite extensive, and we asked for some recommendations from the waiter. Everything we got was amazing! Each protein was tender and super flavorful! Each bite was so scrumptious I couldn't stop eating. First impression: delicious! This a beautifully, soothing establishment with dim lighting and soft music. The mirror in the rear makes this place look twice as big as it actually is. Within 10 minutes of taking my order, I was sitting before a heaping plate of corn ribs, sweet and savory. Charred octopus was perfectly cooked- soft in the inside with a nice bite to it on the outside. The night market stir fried wide noodles were perfectly chewy and had such a delicious sauce. Came for dinner as a group of 4. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is friendly. We ordered the corn ribs (7 pieces) and chicken wings (5 pieces) to start. Both were good and cooked nicely, but did not have as much flavor as we would have liked. For entrees we got the crab fried rice, crying tiger steak, grilled branzino and lamb rendang (they were out of the morning glory). The crab fried rice on its own was decent, but definitely benefited from adding the sauce that came with it. The branzino was delicious, cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The crying tiger steak was tasty and very soft. The lamb rendang came as 4 thick lamb chops and the sauce was delicious. Overall a nice meal, just a bit pricey and the portions are on the smaller side. We could have done with another entree, but were not eager to spend another $40. read more

Meat was tender and had a good ratio of meat to fat. My friend felt like it was too salty but I thought it was ok, especially when paired with the cabbage. The padang beef short rib was very tender and meat came right off the bone! Nevertheless felt like it could have been better seasoned. The curry felt more like a generic curry but at least the two paired well. The Night Market noodles featured a good composition of ingredients (squid, chicken, onions, chives, sprouts) with really chewy flat noodles but I wish the flavors were stronger with more soy sauce and white pepper. Nemesis was the perfect spot for our girls' night dinner. Food was delicious and perfect portions for sharing a bunch of dishes. Drinks were also creative and service was amazing! We made a reservation for a Friday night which was a good call because it got popping around 7pm, but it also seems possible to walk in at earlier times! The three of us ordered three appetizers : scallop crudo, charred octopus, and the tiger shrimp shumai. I would definitely get the octopus again. It was crispy and plentiful! The shumai and scallop were not as standout, but still OK appetizers to get us excited for our entrees. Next time I'd opt for different options. We were very impressed at all of our entrees. The night market noodles were peppery and savory with a hint of sweet, the tiger steak was plentiful and tender, and the crab fried rice was soo addictive with the smokey crab flavor. Of the drinks, I recommend the Tempest, the lychee margarita, and the BK tea. I also can't say enough about how pleasant the service was. This restaurant recently opened practically right next to my office so I had to come check it out. My friend and I ordered the Charred Octopus, Crying Tiger Steak, and Sambal Eggplant. We also had the Lychee Margarita & Black Mirror for drinks. I don't like espresso martinis or coffee but the Black Mirror even tasted good to me so you have to try it. I came here a while back and I have to say I'm definitely coming back to try more of their menu and eat my faves again. My favorites: Crab Fried Rice- Nemesis uses Alaskan Snow Crab meat instead of lump crab meat which sets them apart from other places, but I was hoping for more crab. The rice was firm and fragrant from the wok. There's no sogginess in this fried rice. No two grains of rice were sticking to each other and was not too oily. Call me what you want, but I could finish a bowl (with more crab meat, please) all by myself. Drunken noodles- would order this over and over and over again. It's spicy AF but I would risk it all to eat it again and again. The noodles had the smokiness from the wok and the beef was marinated and cooked perfectly. I'd take a plate of this beef over their Crying Tiger Steak. The string beans were a nice touch that added texture to this dish. Needless to say this was one of my favorite dishes here. Mushroom Pad Cha- a stir fry medley of mushrooms (don't ask me about the species). Upon first bite, the heat did not hit but after a while, the heat builds up. I think there were bamboo shoots or some kind of snappy/crunchy root vegetable in there which was surprising since I was expecting only mushrooms. I actually wish there were more mushrooms in the dish. Others worth mentioning (or not): Crispy calamari- this isn't your typical fried calamari. It's lightly battered and the fried thai basil added a nice flavor when eaten together. The Thai basil aioli paired well but I enjoyed the calamari without it. Crying tiger steak- I enjoyed the 2 crispy fingerling potatoes the most from this dish, which soaked up the sauce from the steak. The steak was too chewy and maybe a bit raw to my liking, pass. Sambal Eggplant- I usually say anything fried is good, but this eggplant was warm and kinda soggy when it came out. Nice presentation, but not so much the taste. King River Prawns- I felt like I had a good reason to splurge on this dish (market price was $50 for 2 prawns at the time and I'm still scratching my head over it), but I was disappointed. It came with 3 dipping sauces. The green sauce which was limey, fishy (not in bad way) and full of cilantro, paired best with the prawn. This dish wasn't that memorable besides the fact that one of the prawns was the length of the plate it was served on while the others were disappointingly smaller in size (peep the picture). I want to give this dish a second chance but not at that price. read more
