I forget when I added this to my bookmark or how i even stumbled upon this place but it had a lot of last minute available reservations for a party of 5. Last minute as in 48-72 hrs notice. The place was elegantly decorated. The service was friendly and attentive. We loved the ribbed corn. The chicken satay was interesting as they were grilled chicken meatballs and not just grilled pieces of chicken. We shared the crab fried rice, the char Kway teow and the Indonesian mia goreng. They were all done very well. You can't go wrong. We also got the tiger steak which I didn't particularly like. It was an interesting cut of steak. I came here for a 6pm dinner on a Thursday. It wasn't crowded when we first arrived, but got a little busier later in the evening. I arrived before my friend and they still seated me while I waited. They have happy hour specials, as well as a tempting cocktail menu so it would be a good place to grab a drink. The food menu offered a blend of Thai and Malaysian cuisine. Unlike most Thai restaurants, it was not at all vegetarian friendly. There were only one or two dishes that didn't have meat or fish. To start, we shared the spiced corn ribs. I was expecting them to be off the cob, but they were actually on cob, so they were a little tricky to eat. The bit of extra effort was more than made up for by the flavor of the dish. The sauce was sweet and savory and so tasty that I wish they drizzled more of it on the corn. It was topped with a sprinkling of chili, but wasn't spicy. For my main, I had the mushroom pad cha. I was worried it wouldn't be enough for an entree, but it was a decent size. Would have been perfect paired with a rice or noodle. In addition to mushrooms, the dish had string beans, onions, and bell peppers. It was delicious. The mushrooms were firm and pleasantly chewy. The sauce coated the veggies well and provided plenty of succulent flavor. For dessert, we had the black sesame basque cheesecake. It was dense and accompanied by a sweet cream that complemented the cake quite well. We also had the Malaysian coffee ice cream. The only thing this dish could possibly do better is perhaps to finish with a sprinkle of flake salt. (Beef Short Rib: A+) - This platter starts off strong with a tender short rib that is pre cut for easy consumption, soaked in a seductive curry. The coconut rice adds a beautiful fragrance to absorb that luscious curry and the pickled vege adds a pleasant contrastive acidity. The physical menu had prawn lumpia, but the online menu only had crab lumpia. I told the server prawn lumpia, but when it was brought out they announced it as crab lumpia. Either way, I wouldn't recommend this dish. It was really oily with very little filling. The filling itself was black pepper carrots, no crab or prawn in sight. The sauce carried this dish. I spent a lot of time picking apart the crust so I wouldn't consume an alarming amount of oil. I ordered no sugar Thai ice tea and they told me no sugar wasn't possible, just less sugar. To my surprise, it wasn't sweet at all! It came with some grass jelly. The mie goreng was good, but nothing to write home about. Bell peppers forward flavors and spicy. The crying steak was good, the sauce elevated the dish for me. This was the best dish of the night. Lastly, we ordered the pandan flan and it was burning my throat. I couldn't identify what was causing that. The pandan flavor was very faint and I only really tasted dry coconut flakes (even after scraping it off). This was $18, not worth it. The restaurant is beautiful and large. Service was kind of hard to track down, but I didn't mind. Overall, I wouldn't revisit or recommend. Kinda mixed here, some of the food was good, and others were a big miss. I couldn't really figure out what the restaurant was trying to deliver in terms of style. The portion sizes are also strange. While you might get a few pieces of steak or skewers for some, if you then order the rib soup, you get a giant portion. Barely made it in time for happy hour - I only got one cocktail that was recommended by a waiter and it was mixed with baijiu which had a very interesting and strong flavor. Every single dish was great, but the ribs in particular were amazing! It's a huge rack and it's soaked in a zesty soup, where the meat was super tender and flavorful. It's quite rich, so adding a splash of acid like the pickled cucumbers and carrots they served with the beef rendang helps balance it out. Spiced Corn Ribs (4/5): Like all dishes here, the presentation was thoughtful and elegant -- in this case, a lovely rib tower. The corn itself was well cooked and sweet. Grilled Eggplant (5/5): The dish came with fork and knife which was appreciated. It was essentially two octopus-leg-resembling eggplant pieces which absorbed the sweet and umami sauce soaking the base of this dish. Pad Kra Pao (3/5): I love spicy Thai basil and this dish didn't bring enough heat nor flavor that you expect from this dish. The portion was particularly large compared to the other entres. Pad Hor (4/5): The shrimp and the bean sprout were fairly plain and needed a bit more flavor. The noodles however were decadent and after mixing everything together the dish came together. When it arrived, there was no room to stir everything until you pick a bit off the top. Service (5/5): I must say the service was superb here. Staff were incredibly attentive -- one example, I dropped a chopstick and our server rushed over ready with a new pair! Ambiance (no rating): I'm not a design expert so I'll keep in my lane. As the rest of the group loved that spot we went here. Slightly dark inside but fine for photos and the service was nice. They had a unique cocktail menu and as I was there early, I got a drink first and brought it to the table once others arrived. I got the Tempest for $17 with Kaoliang 58% baijiu, white gourd tea, lemon, fresh ginger, and toasted pink peppercorn. Said cocktail was unique and tasty. There was some light sweetness but not too much with some spice from the ginger and a nice aftertaste from the pink peppercorn. There's not many places with baijiu cocktails and this was a good one. We first got the Curry Pork Ribs for $21 with twice-cooked ribs on the bone, mild karee curry, and kaffir lime leaves. This was outstanding with super tender ribs that might have been on the bone but they fell off with a slightly sweet curry with a bit of spice. This type of curry is more associated with seafood but it worked well here. We soon got the majority of the other dishes. The Crying Tiger Steak at $39 is listed as a Thai-marinated grilled 10oz skirt steak, organic and grass fed with Thai chimichurri, crispy fingerlings, and nam jim jeow. This was a very tasty version of this northern Thai dish, Suea rong hai. The sauce was excellent; better flavored than most spots I've been to; and the steak had a slight chew as it was a skirt steak but not too much. The portion size was good for the price and I would recommend it. A bit more pricey was the Padang Beef Ribs at $46, a Indo-braised grass-fed beef rib grilled with pickled cucumber and chili, and a mild padang curry. This was a huge fall off the bone rib with a slightly spiced curry with some sweetness. The lightly pickled cucumbers and chilis with the former being refreshing and the latter having a fiery kick. This was tasty also though I would recommend splitting it as it gets a bit overwhelmingly fatty eventually. The Sambal Skate for $32 with roasted marinated skate fish, shishito peppers. rustic Sambal sauce, and crispy fin bones was nicely presented with the large fried crispy fish bone. The fish was tender but there wasn't enough of the sambal sauce. I'm used to sambal flavored foods being quite well spiced and this wasn't. Probably the only large dish with enough faults that I might not recommend it. There was finally the obligatory Drunken Noodles for $25 also listed as the more directly named Pad Kee Mao. Listed as Angus beef sautéed Thai inspired wide rice noodle stir-fry with string beans, Thai basil, and chili. The noodle had a good texture and flavor and the beef was tender. Was it worth $25? Nah. It's just the prices match the rest of the dishes here. Go with the other more unique offerings. As most of the food was good, some of us got dessert. The Flan was excellent with a slight pandan flavor as well as coconut. It was a satisfying end to an excellent meal. Very tasty food outside of maybe 1/2 dishes that weren't as worth it as well as a very tasty cocktail. I'd go back. Low 4 read more

Go here for if you're happy to pay top dollar for the ambiance and the Instagrammable dishes. If all you want is flavorful food, go elsewhere. The service was good, and we felt well taken care of throughout. The main draw is the ambiance, aesthetic and vibes: the drinks were colorful and beautiful, the decor was pristine and Asian, the soft lighting and murmur of conversation all around would be great for a romantic date. As for the food - the Crying Tiger steak was good (tender meat, flavorful marinade and sauce) but seriously overpriced for what it was. The Drunken Noodle was tasted flavorless to me, although that could be because I ate it alongside the Crying Tiger. It's good food, but I really can't imagine this food deserving the prices they're asking for. read more

Love this place! The ambiance was a nice, upscale casual vibe, and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend and will def be back. The lychee margarita was delicious. I could've had 5 of them. Agree with other reviews that it's weird it only comes half full. As for food, we loved the crab fried rice, night market noodles, and prawn lumpia. The beef rib wasn't bad either but relatively speaking, the rest were much better. Food came out quick and servers frequently checked in to see how we were doing. All around a great place! Easy to make a reservation on resy though we wouldn't have needed one (we came on a Sunday night around 7:30pm and there were plenty of empty tables). read more

Stopped in for a late dinner and was promptly greeted by the staff. It wasn't busy - maybe 2 or 3 other parties but I loved the dark and moody interior with plants and neutrals. Nemesis serves a Thai/ Asian fusion menu with crafted cocktails. I was excited to order one of their cocktails but was disappointed to hear they were all sweet tasting. My boyfriend got the Highnoon Jakarta and I had one sip and it was way too sweet for me. They also did not have any uncaffeinated hot teas which was also odd to me. It was a little weird to me that they couldn't control the lychee margarita sweetness level but I guess that's what you get with premade drinks? Hope they offer more options soon. Well onto the food, we got the scallop crudo, wanted to get bone marrow (informed they were out AFTER we ordered), drunken noodles, pan dang short rib and the chicken green curry. Tasty but nothing wowed me. The best thing was the pandang short rib as it had nice flavor, fell off the bone and the sauce was very tasty. Good for a date night if you are looking for a more intimate setting. Will be curious to see how they get more people in the door. This place is all over my social media so I knew that I wanted to stop by here. The food looks so good online and I wanted to try it for myself. I made a reservation for four on a Saturday at 2:15 pm (do note they close from 3-5 pm to prepare for dinner). The restaurant itself went much deeper than I expected and it was pretty spacious inside and the decor was really nice. They have a really extensive drink menu - I think their drink menu might have been more extensive than their food menu actually. For food wise - we decided to do family style so we got a bunch of different items to share. -Hokkaido Scallop Crudo: The scallop was really fresh and overally pretty good. It came with like six pieces of scallops I believe. -Crying Angus Tiger Steak: This was really yummy - the steak was perfectly cooked and it was super tender. The flavor was really good as well. -Spicy Soft Shell Crab: This is a new menu item. It is def on the spicer side so if you cannot handle spice maybe skip over this dish. The crab itself is good but it was the sauce that makes it more flavorful and SPICY! -Tom Yum Seafood Fried Rice: Slightly spicy not too spicy, the rice itself was alright but with the bone marrow it was much yummier. -String Bean with Minced meat: This was so yummy. I am always a huge fan of string beans - we did get it less spicy but it was so flavorful and yummy and honestly went really well with the fried rice. Overall - really good food. 4.5 stars I came here with my bf after work last week and we had a great meal at Nemesis! Definitely a good spot for a date night. For appetizer, we started with the spiced corn ribs. We looved the flavor of this, but definitely city prices at $14! For our entrees, we shared the Crying Tiger Steak, Padang Beef Rib and the Night Market Noodles. The Crying Tiger Steak was delicious - cooked well and the chimichurri was so refreshing! Best dish of the night. The Padang Beef Rib was super tender, the curry was the stand out here for sure since I'm normally not a big fan of beef rib like this. The Night Market Noodles were okay, I was definitely missing the Pad See Ew/Pad Kee Mao vibe which normally has more flavor. Overall, I'd come back!
