A place that treats coffee like its an art! This our favorite espresso in town. Get the cortado if you want a higher espresso to milk ratio. It reminded me of flat whites from New Zealand. Every pastry we've tried has been incredible. There's a variety of seating including a large pine table, bar seating, and six bistro tables along the wall. Come here for a calm ambiance with personable service!

Gosh, even early this place fills up quickly and for good reason. Strong performance on the cortado and the ham and Swiss handpies. The masala chai is also excellent. The staff greets and interacts with a genuineness that's really lovely.

I came here for a quick drip coffee and it was great! There was no wait and the staff is super friendly. The cafe is beautiful--it was nice to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere. I can't wait to come back!

Oat milk latte

Great coffee and service! Very friendly people who like to personalize the experience. Love the staff and they're friendliness. I ordered a regular oat milk latte and it tasted delicious.

I would highly recommend Neckar. The barista was helpful and friendly to everyone who entered. He made the drinks in front of us on the bar and added some art!

Good latte. Their ham & gruyere hand pie was light and tasty. The café is modern and spacious also cozy once you sit down to catch up with a friend or your saved news articles. The staff are very friendly and their service is very attentive as well.

A wonderful space, friendly and helpful service, and great coffee! We were passing through Boise on our road trip, and wanted to sit and have some coffee. After walking around for a bit we found this cafe. I ordered latte which was really good, but I fell in love with pumpkin cardamom loaf! I loved it so much I tried to re-create it once I got back home (it was good enough that it satisfied my craving). I wish this place near me!

The bar counter is the best place r sit!

It was like walking into an Apple Store for coffee. Friendly couple who loves coffee and it shows. Delicious espresso and nitro.

Best house made chai in Boise, no doubt. Great pastries, and lovingly crafted coffee. This local joint has heart and soul.

What really stood out to me is that they greet you like they are truly happy to see you. Even on my first visit they made me feel welcome, and now every time I walk in they greet me like a familiar face and make me feel right at home. That kind of consistency and warmth is rare and says a lot about the people who work there. The space itself is fantastic. It is always spotless, the ambiance is relaxed, the music is great, and there are so many comfortable places to sit depending on your mood. Sometimes I relax on the couches, other times I grab a table or sit near the window and enjoy the view. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect on sunny Boise days and makes it a great place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of those places where you can easily spend time working, meeting someone, or just enjoying a great cup of coffee. They also have great food, which makes it even better whether you are stopping in for a quick bite or staying a while. Everything I have tried has been fresh and really good. You can also tell that management cares about both their employees and their customers. When a place is run well it shows through the staff, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, and District Coffee absolutely delivers. I am new to Boise and this is one of the first places I recommend when someone asks where to get great coffee or find a comfortable place to spend some time. I have also had great experiences at their other locations. Boise is lucky to have them.

But, I really wanted to comment about how great the staff has been. After recently getting my new kidney, I have to be so careful about germs. And unfortunately, I can't use the straws and lids that they have out for everyone. I have asked if they can kindly put a lid and straw in for me after they make my drink and a majority of the staff has! I have had a few not so friendly stares when I asked but the majority of the staff have been so kind. I appreciate the extra step and the longevity of my new kidney does too. A small gesture like this goes a long ways and I am so grateful to those who have helped me out.

The shop is always clean and has a really comfortable atmosphere whether you're stopping in briefly or planning to stay awhile. One of the highlights is the upstairs seating area. Walking in, I see my boss enjoying her drink! I knew it was at the right place when I saw her! The barista let me chat for a minute before I got to ordering. For my usual, I grabbed a small iced americano with room for cream. I totally spaced on asking for any sugar free options so but biggie! My drink came out delicious! It was perfectly made with the right amount of ice, espresso and cream. I added a couple blue packets of sugar and it was perfect. It was just what I needed! The venue is very bright and inviting. There is a new leader in the quest for my favorite Boise coffee shop…read more We walked into Form and Function on our last morning in Boise and fell in love instantly. Very simple coffee shop--not a lot of fuss, but excellent coffee. I went for an Americano and it was amazing. I also had a cheddar and egg breakfast sandwich, it was good--but I had food envy of my husband's burrito. The staff was friendly and helpful. We walked in and weren't even greeted. Honestly, we should have turned around and left right then. But we've been here many times before, so I gave the two workers the benefit of the doubt. We ordered our drinks and asked for them to be for here. I also got a scone. We waited 10 to 15 minutes while people who came in after us received their drinks first, and the shop wasn't busy. My husband eventually went up to ask about our order. The response we got was basically, "OK, we'll make it," with no apology or acknowledgment of the oversight. We finally received our drinks about 25 minutes after ordering, and they were in to-go cups even though we clearly asked for them to be for here. At that point it felt like a sign that we should just leave, so we did. If I could go back, I would have left the moment we weren't greeted. Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience to start our Sunday morning.

I usually hit a couple local joints that are right by the salon I work at. Conveniently, Dawson Taylor was right there so I took it as a sign to head in. This coffee joint is so cool. Walked in and instantly noticed how pretty the shop is. I was greeted right away. I told the gentleman that greeted me that I was going to use the ladies room real quick. I will have to say, the bathroom is so dope. I love all the quotes that were written on the walls. You don't realize how long you're actually in the bathroom when you're reading all the tiles. After reading a handful of tiles, I finally made my way out. I got my usual coffee when I try a new joint out. Gives every shop an even playing field. So I got myself an iced americano with sugar free vanilla and room for cream. I had asked the barista for cream to be poured in the back by him. I had told him about my new kidney when I ordered and that I can't really use communal things. He proceeded to tell me the cream was at the table. I really didn't want to use it but I did. I poured a little of it out before I added the cream to my drink. I also used a napkin to hold the handle. I try not to be a germaphobe but it's hard not to be when your immune system is non existent. I made my way outside to sit under the sun and absorb the afternoon energy. I did add couple packets of my sweetner to my drink to sweetnen it a tad. I like my drinks on the sweeter side. Wow, this drink is absolute perfection. You can taste the espresso. It was very present and bitter. It wasn't watered down and light. I appreciate how bold the espresso is. The cream added a nice richness to the drink. The sweetner did enhance the taste of the vanilla. This americano was so good! I ended up walking to Cecil Andrus park and enjoying the rest of my drink there. It was just what I needed this afternoon. This joint is just another block away from the salon I work at which will be so nice and convenient to head down to for an afternoon caffeinated beverage. Another joint I will have to frequent. I will be back soon for another round of this fabulous americano. Especially after a long day at work.

I believe the beans used were from Ethiopia, and it was excellently smooth with notes of the coffee cherry it came from! I love when I can taste the complex flavors through different brewing methods at a café. This Dawson Taylor location may be downtown, but it still maintains a welcoming community vibe, and has delicious coffee. Highly recommend!
