Had to give this place a try since it New Mexican food restaurant close by. Everything was really good , I like the chicken taco with their own made sauce. We will be back again to try other things.

Pretty good. Service was excellent and our order came out quickly. They offer traditional tex-mex options. Salsa was good as well.

Went here and got the lunch special steak fajitas to share with my hubby. It was the perfect amount considering we were also munching on the chips and salsa. The steak fajitas were good but nothing spectacular. I would come here again for the lunch special as it was such a great deal.

Neca's has easily become a favorite place to eat recently. Everyone is attentive and the food is good. A little inconsistent with the taste and texture of the tamales, but that's about it. Usually when I frequent a Mexican restaurant it's because I want my go-to meal. Here, I like to switch it up because of the menu options and I've never had a meal that I haven't thought was bad. My faves...the El Cuatro, El Dos and Fajitas La Ñeca. There are so many options to choose from on the menu that you will want to return just to try additional dishes. During Covid, they try to space everyone out to make sure people feel comfortable and the place has a decent setup. Originally, I thought it was smaller than what it was inside. Wouldn't mind going there for a few drinks and to watch a game. Definitely recommend if you're out in the Katy/Fulshear area and looking for a good place to eat.

The casual, open space was inviting and the place was spotlessly clean. However, the customer service was just average. I wanted an egg and cheese biscuit with gravy and asked if I could replace the bacon in the Bacon, Egg, Cheese Biscuit with the shiitake mushroom gravy. However, the gal at the counter said no so I ended up ordering the spinach, egg, and goat cheese biscuit and had to order a side of shiitake mushroom gravy. She wouldn't even let me switch out the goat cheese for cheddar cheese. Needless to say, service was not the most accommodating or helpful. My lunch date ordered the chicken and waffle and gave it a 4/5 rating. The chicken was crispy but the waffle was more on the dense side. The biscuit was also dense, more so than fluffy. It was baked golden brown and had a slightly crispy exterior which was the best part. The inside didn't pull apart into delicate layers. Instead, it crumbled when I forked through it to get a piece. I'd give it a 4/5 rating. I thought the shitake mushroom gravy was very good and give 5/5. I'm just happy they make a vegetarian-friendly gravy. I also like that have fresh squeeze orange juice on the menu.

The exterior is just as beautifully decorated. It's clear that chef-owner Lori Pope poured a lot of time, heart, and soul into both the menu and the store's design. The hostess was super friendly. As soon as I walked in, she gave me a warm and smiling greeting. The menu was a feast for the eyes. It had a lot of lovely pictures of the different dishes. I was ecstatic to see that there were so many vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Also, most of the dishes can be requested to be made gluten-free. Big plus. You don't order at your table, instead you go to the counter in the back and make sure to bring the sheet with your table number on it. The gal at the counter who took our order wasn't as friendly as the hostess but she was polite enough to inform us about the 15% charge. The food came out very quickly. Hopefully it's because they had a ton of people working in the back. Hopefully. I ordered the Magic Mushroom Tacos and thought it was a beautiful plate. My favorite thing about the dish is the tortillas. It had a nice light crisp to it and kept all the fillings intact from start to finish. The "Magic Mushrooms" were good but could have been better if the batter were lighter and crispier. The batter was a little on the heavy and dense side for me. I also think the sauce could be even better if it had a bit less oil and a bit more flavor. I really enjoyed the potato slices and the fresh berries were a great way to cleanse the palate. My lunch date ordered the Biscuit and gravy dish and thought it was good. We also ordered a side of the Belgian waffle to share. I thought the waffle on its own was extremely sweet and way too dense for my liking. I am happy there's a locally owned and created brunch place like Harvest Kitchen and will definitely be back to try other dishes. Note: There's an automatic 15% service charge to every order.

This is done because of the ordering process and the requirement to pay at the top of the meal rather than at the end and service was actually performed. The fact that all was done was the delivery of our order and not one check on the table to see how the meal was. They did come by and ask for the dishes, but didn't ask how the meal was. We arrived and sat outside due to having a dog, beating the small waitlist they had of people wanting to eat inside. Feels like it gets busy there so be prepared to wait (they don't take reservations). The interior and outside areas are clean and simple, ordering was also fast too. Our server was attentive and quick, although she did make a remark asking if one of our party was sure they wanted to order as much as they did. Ignoring that, ordering was smooth. We got their pancakes, French toast, a side order of bacon, side order of sausage, and ranch omelette with biscuits and grits. Everything was good but the standouts were the pancakes and omelette that were very filling and hit the spot. Not many brunch places can be consistently good across all dishes but Toasted Yolk certainly was. It's convenient, relatively cheap, and good food. It's a great way to set yourself up for a good rest of day shopping in the nearby area (which is exactly what we ended up doing.)

Since it was our first time, we were looking around for a server and wondering who to approach. When the waitress finally came over, we greeted her politely. She responded, but then added an unwelcoming comment: "Are you just here or have you been waiting? If you just got here, please be patient." That really threw me off. As someone who has worked as a server before, I would never speak to customers that way. It felt unnecessary and rude. To make things worse, when our food arrived, I noticed what looked like a small metal piece (possibly a wire or bristle) on the plate next to the bacon. That's a serious food safety concern and very alarming. When the server came back, she didn't apologize or acknowledge the issue at all, which made the experience even more disappointing. Overall, between the poor service and the issue with the food, I was very disappointed. After this experience, this restaurant is now on my blacklist. I won't be returning.

Everyone was friendly and helpful, the place was bright and clean with ample seating on a Friday morning. There are a lot of "fancy" items on the menu, but I was hankering more for a standard diner fare. Fortunately, after getting through all the fancy items, I was able to find a two-egg breakfast, which came with a biscuit and bacon (or other meat). I could also get a side of grits or hash browns, but Jose said I could also get oatmeal on the side if I preferred, which I did. It wasn't listed on the menu, but it was nice of him to point it out. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was well cooked but not crispy (thankfully!), oatmeal tasty with some brown sugar on top, and the biscuit was quite tasty (especially with some butter on it!). My sister got the Wheatwich breakfast sandwich, which she enjoyed. My brother-in-law got the place's namesake, the Toasted Yolk. I stopped in for lunch and decided to sit out on the patio which ended up being the perfect choice. The atmosphere was relaxed, bright, and inviting with a nice open feel that makes it easy to slow down and actually enjoy your meal. The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in and everything moved quickly and smoothly. I ordered the guava mimosa and it was SO good. Light, refreshing, and honestly the perfect daytime drink. For food I had the chicken avocado wrap and substituted the chips for truffle fries and both were SOOOOO good. The wrap was fresh, warm, and packed with flavor and the truffle fries were absolutely worth the upgrade.
