Both the owner of the company and the wife when are very rude, abusive and deal in a lot of bad business. Personally, there are plenty of shipping companies out there that can do the exact same job, but the owner only seems to care about himself, his money and tends to be argumentative with his customers and give attitude. read more

Louie was so helpful. I'm uber pregnant and had a huge car seat in my car that I needed to return. Once I got there they saw me struggling with the box came out, and helped me take it out of my car. They didn't even let me lift a finger. They also noticed that I had open the box a taped it up for me the return label on it got everything ready and gave me a tracking number. OK the first thing you need to know about this company is - they are not your basic "Joe Schmo Movers" or a low end company like "2 Guys and A Truck" - these guys are the real deal. They are serious PACKERS first - and of course, they are very cautious, meticulous movers. If you treasure your fragile collectibles, or your sentimental belongings like old photo albums, antiques, fine art, record albums, baseball cards, comic books, jewelry, and family mementos that are literally irreplaceable - these are the guys to call. They are not called Navis PACK and SHIP for nothing. The franchise owner Louie came to my home - not once but twice - to measure and document everything that needed to be packed - and making special notes on how they were to boxed - there was alot of stuff...I've been a collector of old movie memorabilia, old records, vintage stereo equipment etc. since I was a kid. Louie and the crew showed up the first day with a truckload of boxes and a four man crew - the boxes they provided were double walled for my fragile record albums, and custom cut boxes for all my wall art (which are first covered in a special kind of packing paper, THEN bubble wrapped and shrink wrapped, before being delicately placed into their custom boxes - they all fit like the proverbial glove. I was - to say the least - a bit CONCERNED - that everything would be packed in such a way that each item would be virtually IMPERVIOUS to damage, even if accidentally, a box was DROPPED - which we know happens all the time...Navis Pack and Ship delivered on my expectations - like I said, these guys are the real deal. One note: We did underestimate the amount of time it would take to pack all my stuff - a planned 2 day pack out and move turned into a 3 day pack out and move, but I was there, along with my fiance Jennie, watching everything they did - and these guys are not ones to rush - so yes, they took a bit longer than we originally anticipated to get everything packed, but this was because they're truly CAREFUL with your stuff - they wanted to make sure I was comfortable with the way things were packed. These guys go above and beyond to pack things so they WONT GET DAMAGED DURING YOUR MOVE. Period. For me, that is worth spending a litte more $, to have that kind of peace of mind. By the way, the owner Louie is a terrific, hard working, and funny guy - in fact the whole crew made what could have been a frustrating, boring few days actually fun...there was a lotta laughs goin' on, like the whole time - pretty amazing considering the hard work these guys are doing...Louie is like a teacher - mentoring his younger employees, and calling me over to see - with a definite sense of pride - how he and his crew had meticulously measured and cut the custom boxes for my vintage movie posters at their facility in Glendale. I will say, if youre on a super tight budget, these guys are not the least expensive moving company you can hire. But most movers can't and don't pack your stuff the way these guys do. I guess some people can just do all the packing themselves - you know, when youre ready to move - measure every single belonging you have, then go Box City and buy all the packing materal yourself - then try to figure out how to pack it...all I can say is good luck. Remember the old saying "You Get What You Pay For". I'm a record producer, music director, recording artist and pianist. I know what I'm good at...packing priceless antiques ain't my thing. If you truly want your precious collectibles and irreplaceable family heirlooms packed by professionals, as far as I'm concerned, these guys are the only guys to call. This is my first Yelp! I signed up just to review this place. I was sent here via an internet fed ex return. It was listed as my close fed ex place. I have lived by it for 8 years and never noticed it. I usually go past it to kinkos etc. I walked in and I was greeted with only the kind of warmth you would get in a small town. Rhoda introduced herself to me and helped me so fast and so well I was actually taken aback. (sadly I am shocked by GOOD service these days) I was in and out in under 3 mins. I have used Navis Pack now for shipping several paintings and antiques . ALL have arrived in PERFECT condition. The recipients were all over the United States and some international. They stated that when they received the paintings and antiques, they were packed rock solid like a fort. We had the pleasure of having Louie and crew come build customs crates So there was no chance of damage. This last time I shipped a painting to a friend's father and asked if there was any chance of it making it in time for the man's 66th birthday 2 days from then. Originally they were going to ship it out in 2-3 days. They not only packaged it up that very day but Louie the owner came out himself to do it and He got it out with UPS but my friends father received it THE NEXT DAY!!! EARLY for his birthday. In a very hard year, he received something that brought him so much joy and happiness. These guys are amazing!! I called about 5 other shipping stores and the phone service alone far outweighed the other people I talked to. Lou was very friendly and helpful. He set the tone that this service was dedicated to finding solutions. When I got into the store I wasn't sure what to expect. I made something very fragile that I wanted to ship for mother's day and I knew that it was going to be expensive- but it turned out it was very affordable - so I decided to come in. Emery helped me out and was so kind and knowledgeable. I could tell straight away that his interest and the interest of the company was making sure that my item was safely delivered==so much so that they suggested that I do not ship it at all! They instead created a special box for me to take on the plane and everyone working there was relaxed and joked around. The integrity of this company is unquestionable. The prices are affordable and fair and the people are really wonderful. They also offer services that no one in the LA area offers *( I know...I called them all) - services like cutting foam down the size of your item and I even saw a few pieces they shipped--extremely large, awkward glass sculptures that were safely packed away. These people are coming from the place of the customer, not how much they can make off of you. I highly HIGHLY recommend them and will definitely be going there for all my special shipping needs. We found the Packaging Store when we were looking to pick up some boxes and other packing supplies for a house move. Any time you move its stressful so we were pleasantly surprised to get such good service that temporarily took our minds off our huge checklist of tasks for a few minutes. Louie was extremely friendly and helpful. He asked a ton of questions about our move and gave some great advice on what supplies we would need. They do major packing and shipping so have everything you would need for a house move. Their main business seemed to be shipping large items across the country and we were just there to pick up some boxes but they still treated us great. I had previously been in Fedex and I was receiving some major attitude from the clerk out of left field. The point is, it really says something when you're treated well (genuinely). 1* for overall experience. 4* if just for the pick up in LA. My boss needed a glass chandelier shipped from Los Angeles to CT and said the pick up in LA was great and it arrived safely but the trucker the Packaging Store contracted with on the east coast was completely awful. First, they said they couldn't get the truck down the road to his driveway, but he's had the largest of trucks make it there with zero issue. Then when they showed up they said they couldn't deliver it without a hand truck--which they didn't have on them! You're job is to transport items, how can you not have a hand truck??? And since my boss didn't have one either, the driver said he had to take it back(!). So then seeing it was reachable from the truck and knowing it wasn't that heavy, he went to pick it up and the driver PUSHED him away! At that point, he said he would call their supervisor to re-deliver and leave it on his driveway or he'd call the cops reporting it stolen and then they came back and dropped it off seemingly without issue... So I reported this incident to the Packaging Store in Glendale that I set the order up with and to see what discount they could offer for our egregious trouble on our order that was well over $1,000 and he didn't offer anything, saying it was the other company's bad behavior. Well, a true businessman would go out of pocket to ensure we'd continue to do business there, and assure us that they would no longer do service with a company that treats his customers that way.... I told him that if that's the case, we'll consider carefully who to choose the next time we need something shipped and he said he'd talk to them and get back to me, which never happened. I just visited the Packaging Store looking for an unusual sized box in which to ship an antique lamp to the East Coast. Upon arriving to the store, we were helped by Louie, who was extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I gave him the dimensions I needed for the lamp and he brought out the appropriate box. This was excellent service. I had to ship a large metal chandelier from Los Angeles to an Island off of Seattle within time constraints. The Packaging Store gave me the best price and did their best to stay within the estimated cost. Louie was extremely helpful asking the right questions to ensure the estimate was as accurate as possible, as well as detailed with all the logistics involved. The chandelier was picked up, crated, and delivered by ferry in less than 5 business days. Everyone on our end was pleased with the service.
