You just won't find a better freight, forwarder, packer, and shipper in the greater Los Angeles or even Southern California area the folks over at Navis pack and ship. The tremendous husband and wife team of Louie and Ellen makes everything go flawlessly and you have complete peace of mind that your shipment no matter how valuable or precious will arrive undamaged and safelt. The excellent way that they crate and pack their shipments are like a work of itself. I have been using Navis pack and ship for several years now as I ship valuable Porsche artifacts all over the country that are highly rare and significant in collecting space. I never worry as Navis is the best in the business! The term kid gloves would be best described how effective the tremendous attention to detail that Louie gives every single package whether it's a custom wood crate being built or corrugated, cardboard box with packing foam is done with absolute genius in this space. This is no hype. This is just facts. I encourage you to contact them and get a quote for your shipping needs and you will not be disappointed. read more

DO NOT USE NAVIS -- A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE We hired Navis Pack & Ship to ship valuable Noritake dishes and wine glasses from San Francisco to our daughter in London. What followed was an extremely frustrating and costly experience. First, the shipment sat in Navis's warehouse for months, and only after repeated complaints was it finally sent. Then, despite our having specifically agreed that Navis would deliver the shipment inside my daughter's apartment, the company refused to do so. We were told that the boxes would instead be left on the front sidewalk unless we paid an additional fee. I ultimately had to fork over another $600 to have the shipment brought inside the front door. Most seriously, the packing was shockingly inadequate. Crystal glasses were packed in thin envelopes with little or no protection for the stems, and plates were separated by minimal--or sometimes no--bubble wrap. Predictably, numerous plates were broken, and several glasses arrived split in half. We had paid extra for insurance, but when I filed a claim, Navis made the process unnecessarily difficult. It sent one low-ball settlement offer after another and eventually stopped responding to my emails altogether. It was only after I threatened to take legal action that Navis finally made a reasonable offer. In short, our experience with Navis involved months of delay, inadequate packing, additional charges, extensive damage, and a frustrating insurance-claims process. My strong advice: AVOID THIS COMPANY. read more

I recently hired this company to pack equipment I purchased at auction, and the entire experience was excellent. Elin handled the administrative side and coordinated all logistics clearly and efficiently. Communication was prompt, organized, and straightforward from start to finish. Louie met me on site for pickup and managed the loading process. He coordinated the team, ensured precision equipment was packed properly, and oversaw secure placement in my truck. Everything was handled carefully and professionally. There were no delays and no issues. If you need a reliable shipper or rigger, I strongly recommend using this team. read more

Absolutely fricking awesome!!! Sent a 150 YO antique clock across country to CA and fully intact. 100% support these gentlemen!!!

Elin was a true professional. I value their business and will use them again for my shipping needs. You made this so easy for me. Thank you!

People here got the job done and really went extra mile to meet all my needs. Highly recommend Navis Glendale and I will go back to them whenever I have urgent shipping needs. Thank you guys! read more

Both the owner of the company and the wife when are very rude, abusive and deal in a lot of bad business. Personally, there are plenty of shipping companies out there that can do the exact same job, but the owner only seems to care about himself, his money and tends to be argumentative with his customers and give attitude. read more

Louie was so helpful. I'm uber pregnant and had a huge car seat in my car that I needed to return. Once I got there they saw me struggling with the box came out, and helped me take it out of my car. They didn't even let me lift a finger. They also noticed that I had open the box a taped it up for me the return label on it got everything ready and gave me a tracking number. They went above and beyond and it was super sweet. Now I know where to go every time I need to ship something! read more

OK the first thing you need to know about this company is - they are not your basic "Joe Schmo Movers" or a low end company like "2 Guys and A Truck" - these guys are the real deal. They are serious PACKERS first - and of course, they are very cautious, meticulous movers. If you treasure your fragile collectibles, or your sentimental belongings like old photo albums, antiques, fine art, record albums, baseball cards, comic books, jewelry, and family mementos that are literally irreplaceable - these are the guys to call. They are not called Navis PACK and SHIP for nothing. The franchise owner Louie came to my home - not once but twice - to measure and document everything that needed to be packed - and making special notes on how they were to boxed - there was alot of stuff...I've been a collector of old movie memorabilia, old records, vintage stereo equipment etc. since I was a kid. Louie and the crew showed up the first day with a truckload of boxes and a four man crew - the boxes they provided were double walled for my fragile record albums, and custom cut boxes for all my wall art (which are first covered in a special kind of packing paper, THEN bubble wrapped and shrink wrapped, before being delicately placed into their custom boxes - they all fit like the proverbial glove. I was - to say the least - a bit CONCERNED - that everything would be packed in such a way that each item would be virtually IMPERVIOUS to damage, even if accidentally, a box was DROPPED - which we know happens all the time...Navis Pack and Ship delivered on my expectations - like I said, these guys are the real deal. One note: We did underestimate the amount of time it would take to pack all my stuff - a planned 2 day pack out and move turned into a 3 day pack out and move, but I was there, along with my fiance Jennie, watching everything they did - and these guys are not ones to rush - so yes, they took a bit longer than we originally anticipated to get everything packed, but this was because they're truly CAREFUL with your stuff - they wanted to make sure I was comfortable with the way things were packed. These guys go above and beyond to pack things so they WONT GET DAMAGED DURING YOUR MOVE. Period. For me, that is worth spending a litte more $, to have that kind of peace of mind. By the way, the owner Louie is a terrific, hard working, and funny guy - in fact the whole crew made what could have been a frustrating, boring few days actually fun...there was a lotta laughs goin' on, like the whole time - pretty amazing considering the hard work these guys are doing...Louie is like a teacher - mentoring his younger employees, and calling me over to see - with a definite sense of pride - how he and his crew had meticulously measured and cut the custom boxes for my vintage movie posters at their facility in Glendale. I will say, if youre on a super tight budget, these guys are not the least expensive moving company you can hire. But most movers can't and don't pack your stuff the way these guys do. I guess some people can just do all the packing themselves - you know, when youre ready to move - measure every single belonging you have, then go Box City and buy all the packing materal yourself - then try to figure out how to pack it...all I can say is good luck. Remember the old saying "You Get What You Pay For". I'm a record producer, music director, recording artist and pianist. I know what I'm good at...packing priceless antiques ain't my thing. If you truly want your precious collectibles and irreplaceable family heirlooms packed by professionals, as far as I'm concerned, these guys are the only guys to call. Thanks to Louie and the crew: Jose, Eddie, Manny, Elvis, Julian, and Elin in the office... Thanks again for all your patience and caring work. All the best, Bradley Young and Jennie Quimbita read more

I work for a large corporation and we are constantly shipping large, very expensive materials for pop-up shops around the world. After a few bad experiences with other local box stores, I found The Packaging Store online and twice this week, they've stayed open late to HELP me with exactly what I needed. I emphasize help because rather than just provide boxes, The Packaging Store genuinely cares about the customer. If you are coming in, make sure to see Louie. He created multiple custom boxes for me at a very fair price, especially after you literally watch him make it by hand and see the amount of labor it takes. I will be pushing my company to pick up an account with The Packaging Store and recommending them to anyone with shipping needs. Specifically, if you need heavy duty shipping accommodations, Louie's got you covered! Seriously, don't waste your time anywhere else. After you are treated with such care, watch the work Louie puts in and see the pictures of family around the shop - you'll feel excellent about giving The Packaging Store your money. read more

Thank you Louis and Emery you were a God send. I could not have done this move without you!!!! The Packaging Store is amazing, they came to the house helped me pack furniture, glass, and delicate pieces I didn't want to break in the move. Helped me figure how many boxes and packing stuff I needed. This has been an overwhelming process but thanks to these guys I think I'm prepared! I'll be back- Lita Miranda read more

This is my first Yelp! I signed up just to review this place. I was sent here via an internet fed ex return. It was listed as my close fed ex place. I have lived by it for 8 years and never noticed it. I usually go past it to kinkos etc. I walked in and I was greeted with only the kind of warmth you would get in a small town. Rhoda introduced herself to me and helped me so fast and so well I was actually taken aback. (sadly I am shocked by GOOD service these days) I was in and out in under 3 mins. I am only giving it 4 stars because I did not notice hours or prices, so I am not much help there. BUT if you want friendly, fast, personal service in the Toluca Lake Area? Skip Kinkos, or a big store. GO HERE! Thanks Rhoda! read more

I stopped in at 1pm on a Friday to request a custom order for a project I was going to work on the next day and you want to know what they said?!? They said "You can come back at 5pm to pick it up" So SO SOOOOO wonderful! Thank you for my custom crates!!! They are PERFECT! xox read more

People in the Glendale area - if you need to ever ship something that is precious and fragile - consider Navis Pack & Ship on 822 Allen ave in Glendale. I have used Navis Pack now for shipping several paintings and antiques . ALL have arrived in PERFECT condition. The recipients were all over the United States and some international. They stated that when they received the paintings and antiques, they were packed rock solid like a fort. We had the pleasure of having Louie and crew come build customs crates So there was no chance of damage. This last time I shipped a painting to a friend's father and asked if there was any chance of it making it in time for the man's 66th birthday 2 days from then. Originally they were going to ship it out in 2-3 days. They not only packaged it up that very day but Louie the owner came out himself to do it and He got it out with UPS but my friends father received it THE NEXT DAY!!! EARLY for his birthday. In a very hard year, he received something that brought him so much joy and happiness. I cannot thank Navis enough not only for doing a great job packing things so they arrive undamaged, but in their amazing customer service! I will ship all my precious items with them from now on! Louie and Elin went above and beyond for myself treating me like family the entire step of the way. A great experience all the way around. read more

These guys are amazing!! I called about 5 other shipping stores and the phone service alone far outweighed the other people I talked to. Lou was very friendly and helpful. He set the tone that this service was dedicated to finding solutions. When I got into the store I wasn't sure what to expect. I made something very fragile that I wanted to ship for mother's day and I knew that it was going to be expensive- but it turned out it was very affordable - so I decided to come in. Emery helped me out and was so kind and knowledgeable. I could tell straight away that his interest and the interest of the company was making sure that my item was safely delivered==so much so that they suggested that I do not ship it at all! They instead created a special box for me to take on the plane and everyone working there was relaxed and joked around. The integrity of this company is unquestionable. The prices are affordable and fair and the people are really wonderful. They also offer services that no one in the LA area offers *( I know...I called them all) - services like cutting foam down the size of your item and I even saw a few pieces they shipped--extremely large, awkward glass sculptures that were safely packed away. These people are coming from the place of the customer, not how much they can make off of you. I highly HIGHLY recommend them and will definitely be going there for all my special shipping needs. Happy shipping and feel confident in this company! read more

For large or fragile items they're the best and also have a FedEx/UPS drop off which is handy

We found the Packaging Store when we were looking to pick up some boxes and other packing supplies for a house move. Any time you move its stressful so we were pleasantly surprised to get such good service that temporarily took our minds off our huge checklist of tasks for a few minutes. Louie was extremely friendly and helpful. He asked a ton of questions about our move and gave some great advice on what supplies we would need. They do major packing and shipping so have everything you would need for a house move. Their main business seemed to be shipping large items across the country and we were just there to pick up some boxes but they still treated us great. This is the kind of customer service every business should have. read more

Louie, the owner, is absolutely fantastic. I called Navis and in 30 minutes Louie had all 4 large boxes built. Super fast and such a good attitude. I had previously been in Fedex and I was receiving some major attitude from the clerk out of left field. The point is, it really says something when you're treated well (genuinely). Why call a company that will put you on hold? When you can be forwarded straight to Louie who will get the job done fast. I hung out in the shop while he finished my boxes, and he was a delight to speak to. Louie is hospitable, friendly, and has a great sense of humor. The kind of business I want to support. If you're looking for fast service and quality boxes, Louie is your person! Awesome family man and a delight to spend twenty minutes with. Thanks Louie! read more

1* for overall experience. 4* if just for the pick up in LA. My boss needed a glass chandelier shipped from Los Angeles to CT and said the pick up in LA was great and it arrived safely but the trucker the Packaging Store contracted with on the east coast was completely awful. First, they said they couldn't get the truck down the road to his driveway, but he's had the largest of trucks make it there with zero issue. Then when they showed up they said they couldn't deliver it without a hand truck--which they didn't have on them! You're job is to transport items, how can you not have a hand truck??? And since my boss didn't have one either, the driver said he had to take it back(!). So then seeing it was reachable from the truck and knowing it wasn't that heavy, he went to pick it up and the driver PUSHED him away! At that point, he said he would call their supervisor to re-deliver and leave it on his driveway or he'd call the cops reporting it stolen and then they came back and dropped it off seemingly without issue... So I reported this incident to the Packaging Store in Glendale that I set the order up with and to see what discount they could offer for our egregious trouble on our order that was well over $1,000 and he didn't offer anything, saying it was the other company's bad behavior. Well, a true businessman would go out of pocket to ensure we'd continue to do business there, and assure us that they would no longer do service with a company that treats his customers that way.... I told him that if that's the case, we'll consider carefully who to choose the next time we need something shipped and he said he'd talk to them and get back to me, which never happened. Bad customer complaint resolution, bad follow-through. read more

This place is great. Very friendly service. Louie is the man for all your shipping needs. I highly recommend that you check this spot out.

I just visited the Packaging Store looking for an unusual sized box in which to ship an antique lamp to the East Coast. Upon arriving to the store, we were helped by Louie, who was extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I gave him the dimensions I needed for the lamp and he brought out the appropriate box. What's more, the prices were more than fair - it doesn't make sense to look for packaging supplies at other stores when the prices at the Packaging Store are so reasonable! They had exactly what I needed and the service was top-notch. Excellent experience! Thanks a ton! read more

This was excellent service. I had to ship a large metal chandelier from Los Angeles to an Island off of Seattle within time constraints. The Packaging Store gave me the best price and did their best to stay within the estimated cost. Louie was extremely helpful asking the right questions to ensure the estimate was as accurate as possible, as well as detailed with all the logistics involved. The chandelier was picked up, crated, and delivered by ferry in less than 5 business days. Everyone on our end was pleased with the service. I would definitely use The Packaging Store again. read more
