I walked in and realized one of their donuts was going to at least spread out for over 2 days for me. The flavors looked so delicious. I decided to go for 'Toasted Coconut'. Amazing nutmeg-y finish and I have to say I love the yeastiness of the donut - did not feel like straight up sugar, but felt like a complex cake/bread - the sourness did come through. The donut has body and texture. My donut world has changed from now on. If I encounter donut people, I will definitely recommend this place. And maybe next year try one of their other amazing flavors. It did cost me $6.80 but I'm telling you these are gigantic - one for 2 people I'd say. The place is simple, cute and clean - standard NYC modern shop. So not much to report here.

The donuts were extremely dense and tasted like a loaf of bread. I think if that's how you like your donuts, you will like it here. But if you are looking for light, fluffy donuts, keep looking. At $7 per donut (with tax), it was definitely overpriced and not worth it. We did not finish the donuts. Service was friendly and the place was clean but we will definitely not be returning.

Really great Donut Shop in Greenpoint Brooklyn, with the Old Skool Polish Neighborhood Vibes…read more The Donuts here are FANTASTIC - huge selection, super sweet & highly caloric but if you're gonna go for it, you'd be hard pressed to find a better spot! There's usually a line to buy donuts but they have tons of women working behind the counter in their retro smocks, filling orders & slinging pastries. Cash Only! No credit cards or mobile payments accepted. They do have an ATM onsite if you don't have cash on you (not that rare these days - I've been caught lacking here from time to time...). Perhaps the greatest quote ever to sum this place comes from the inimitable Tina Fey who discovered the treats here years ago & had this say @ Peter Pan: "The best doughnut? That's Peter Pan doughnuts in Brooklyn... It's a white-cream-filled powdered doughnut. And I really believe, when I first tried it, if I had a penis, I would put it in this doughnut. I finally understand what you guys are thinking about and what motivates you guys." She's not wrong...

There were several choices of donuts and pastries. They were all very fresh. There are plenty of donut spots to visit in NYC and beyond, but make sure you stop by Peter Pan the next time you are in town. 5/5 Til we eat again....

There have been many copycat recipes, many have tried and failed including this reviewer, but Doughnut Plant doesn't even try to replicate, they just make this delicious, coconut creamy filled, yeasty donut that is the closest to Leonard's malasada as I have tasted, in texture, flavor, and filling. It hits the spot and is wonderful. Their other bestsellers hold their own also. The tiramisu donut is so luxurious and silky. The Brooklyn blackout is moist and decadent. Doughnut Plant has a lot going for them beyond my beloved coconut cream filled malasada/donut. What helps is at this Grand Central Terminal location, you have the most beautiful interior and you also have the sweetest employees (shoutout to Luis and Jeanette) that make visiting this location all the nicer. I was in line waiting to order, and the new guy working was belligerent and reeked of alcohol, and it was early in the day. The line wasn't even long, but there was a lot going on. He took his time, cursing out the Grand Central janitorial team and whoever he decided looked like delivery guys picking up food. He didn't miss a beat. Everyone got theirs. Between customers came the random insults at people walking by, a swing of his drink, and a nasty look for anyone who crossed his line of sight. He seems fairly new. I've seen him a few times. I'm friendlier with the senior staff. I don't know what it was, maybe the full moon, but the nastiness coming from that guy was on full display. Whoever he is, he doesn't belong behind that counter. It was before noon and he was already hammered. This is how business close down . Donough plant pay attention to who you hire !!!

Anyways, one order of the mini donuts, they are super customizable and if you need help picking and choosing flavors and toppings, the staff member can provide suggestions and pairings. I got the Ube and Pistachio and they both taste great, especially when they're freshly made and warm. I've also tried the Strawberry Covered Chocolates and those strawberries were massive. The problem with massive strawberries is eating them. If I had a knife, I could cut them into smaller pieces as eating them on a skewer stick got really messy. Also the strawberry itself overpowered any of the chocolate taste, so it didn't balance well in terms of taste. For sure favored the milk chocolate over the dark chocolate.

I opted for the mini donuts with strawberry and ube flavors with sprinkle and snowy milk as the toppings. I also added fresh strawberries - and did I mention that the donuts are made fresh? All of that for just $13. I loved the mochi texture of these treats and I am looking forward to trying to new flavors next time! I was also eyeing the croffles because they looked almost like ice creams. You can get these to go or if you'd like to eat as you roam around, the owner will put them in a paper boat/container for you. She was so patient and makes all of her treats fresh it seems. Can't wait to come back to try the croffles!

I'm talking about an establishment that makes high-quality gourmet treats. As you can imagine, I was thrilled to see this one opening in the neighborhood last year. I have been to Caroline's several times since it opened its doors to the public. I've tried a few of their items, including the glazed twist, Boston creme, coffee donut, and strawberry filled. The glaze twist is one of my favorites. It's wonderfully sweet while not cloying, and I especially enjoy topping it with the Bon Mama berry jam I have at home. The Boston creme is truly made with love. It's sufficiently stuffed with creme and topped with a thick layer of chocolate ganache - the expensive stuff! The coffee donut is also delicious. Of everything I've tried, the strawberry filled was my favorite. You can tell their strawberry compote is homemade and not too sweet. The dough is light and fluffy and generously coated with granulated sugar. What a treat!
