Dangerous. Absolutely dangerous... because now there's another incredible cookie shop in Williamsburg that we'll constantly have to resist.
If you're visiting for the first time, my must-order lineup would be the Salted Chocolate Chip, Lava Cookie (especially if you're a chocolate lover), the Cinnamon Cookie, and the Peanut Butter Cookie. Each one has its own personality, but they're all wonderfully soft, chewy, and packed with flavor without being overly sweet.
The Last Crumb has quickly become one of my favorite cookie shops in New York. I'd even put it in the same conversation as Culture Espresso and Seven Grams, and personally, I prefer it over Levain. While Levain is known for its thick, dense cookies with a firmer exterior, these actually feel and look like classic cookies--crispy around the edges with a soft, chewy center that's incredibly satisfying.
That said, it really comes down to personal preference. If you love a softer, chewier cookie, The Last Crumb is the place to be. If you prefer a thicker cookie with a harder exterior, Levain may still be your favorite.
Either way, Williamsburg didn't need another amazing dessert spot... but I'm so glad it got one. We already know we'll have to limit our visits because these cookies are seriously addictive. Highly recommend! read more
