Let FTR (First to Review) February -- BEGIN!
Cheeky Nando's? Not so much. I'm just not quite sure what all the peri-peri buzz is about here, guys.
Looking for something for an early Saturday dinner (plus child) -- this newly opened Nando's on City Road seemed like a decent option, albeit not entirely adventurous or creative. Sometimes you just want to be sure there is a kid seat and some crayons, ya know? Yes, parents, you know.
Service was great. Everyone very friendly from the moment we entered. However, I didn't realize it was a counter service/serve yourself type place. Sitting with a kid and having to get up 5x for water, napkins, sauces, etc was a bit annoying -- particularly at the price point!
Nando's is not cheap, though it would seem it is basically "fast food" -- hmm. A "platter" of one butterfly breast, and some thighs plus the "posh" sides (not that posh, for the record) was about £30. We thought for sure we'd have leftovers but the portions were not large at all. I left a bit baffled. Also, the butterfly breast was so dry I had to choke it down with water. Hmmmm, what Nando? WHAT!? Dry chicken is somewhat of a cardinal sin when that's your jam, ya know? Yeah, I know now.
*Kid's menu - £5.50.
*Wifi available.
It's not a bad option but it convinced me I should've ventured out to an independent. Pretty boring and uninspired meal that I basically had to fetch myself. Average, but fine. read more
