Nando's logo is the Barcelos Cockerel and symbolize faith, justice and good fortune! All of which each restaurant wishes upon their patrons in abundance. The Barcelos Cockerel is one of the most common emblems of Portugal. So now you know what the Barcelos Cockrel looks like.
It took awhile to figure out how to order. You walk in, the hostess seats you at a table and places a number on it. We had to watch several others ordering to see what we were supposed to do. Our waiter did not ask us if we had been to Nando's before or if we had any questions. That would be a great thing if they asked is this your first time? That way if it is they can explain it. Then you are suppose to go to the counter and place your order. They will ask what your table number is. You pick up your plates and silverware. When your order is ready they will bring it to your table. Don't forget to get your sauces and the check the heat of your sauces and dressings.
My son wanted to come here as he had heard about it in the USA. So we decided to go with a family platter. We got a two different flavors of chicken, garlic bread, mashed potatoes, chips (fries), and coleslaw with drinks. We tried the lemon and herb and medium. This was by far the cheapest meal we had in London. We got a lot of food. The chicken was juicy and tender. The sauces were like nothing I could describe. The chicken was tasty, the chips flavorful, the coleslaw and garlic bread were good. All in all a great bang for you buck or pound (As American's say).
We don't have a Nando's in Reno, NV. USA where I am from. I did however, find the sauces in a local grocery store called Raley's. Tonight I made a yummy Kale soup with Garlic Peri-Peri sauce. If you don't have a Nando's see if a local store carries the sauces.
If you do have a Nando's and eat there frequently you may want to sign up for their Nando's reward card. You get a rewards chili every time you spend 7 Pounds. You do need to use your rewards chili's within a years time. For more information go https://www.nandosperiperi.com/card/how-it-works
