definitely worth a try if youre nearby. we got the sweet potato wedges to split which were great. we loved the garlic perinaise it came with. for meals we tried the sweet & spicy chicken wrap and the chicken thighs with lemon herb sauce. both were really flavorful and good! the wrap was light and refreshing. for sides we tried the peri chips and the coleslaw. prob wouldnt get the coleslaw again but everything else was good! read more

My coworker's husband is from South Africa, and he is always craving Nando's. So when I told Stacey that I was going to London, she said "Go to Nando's". Having no clue what Nando's was, I went. Nando's is a worldwide Portuguese flamed grilled chicken restaurant chain founded in South Africa. Their chicken is seasoned and marinaded in a peri-peri sauce. It's Portuguese in origin and made from crushed chilies, citrus peel, onion, pepper, salt, lemon juice, bay leaves, paprika, pimiento, basil, oregano, and tarragon. While recipes can vary from region to region the common ingredients are chili, lemon, oil and red bell peppers. The restaurant is a casual counter service place, with seating upstairs and downstairs. The staff seats you first, then you review your menu. Once you have decided on your order, you place your order at the cashier and give them your table number. It's important to remember your table number since they bring your food to the table. Then on the side counter, you can pick up your utensils, extra sauces, and fill up your soft drink. Stephen and I shared the Full Platter for 2, which was a full chicken (2 halves) and 4 sides for £19.95. We are not one for "spicy" sauces, and asked for the lemon & herb and also the mango & lime chicken; For the sides we selected the fries (with a side of peri salt), the mint peas, garlic bread and a dish called "super grains" which consists of grains, greens and beans with an avocado & buttermilk dressing as our 4 sides. I can't get Nando's where I'm from so it's always my first meal when I'm in a city that has one. Being in London for the first time, I ignored the many dining recommendations I received and walked straight from Paddington Station to this Nando's. The chicken was as consistently tender, flavorful, and delicious as I recalled it being the last time I had Nando's in DC. I cleaned every last piece of meat off the chicken wing bones. I made the mistake of ordering a non-chicken item and wish I hadn't and instead just gotten even more chicken. The salad was full of beans and had no flavor whatsoever. Nandos is generally ok Food ok but nothing special - I know I'm going to come away feeling full My friend had some vouchers for the new nandos in St Christopher's Place so we met there on a Sunday at 5 Seated easily as there is more seating downstairs - upstairs looks like there is barely any We were put in to a booth but it was a little tight in there with bags and coats so would recommend avoiding The whole place was also really hot! Toooo hot! Staff also a bit rude We ordered our food and it took a while to come but no prob as we chatted I got the chicken wrap (my usual as I like the dressing that's in there - less dry) and we shared a few sides Ok meal, came out very full but not having any intention of returning anytime soon read more

We had the WORST experience as tourists and our first break in England. There are 14 of us who wanted to eat at the restaurant and prior to sitting we asked if they could accommodate us, and initially they said yes. We understood that it would be on different tables and we're perfectly fine with this. After ten minutes of being seated, the manager came and told us that the underground seating was a safety hazard and that we could not all be seated and that "there are other people waiting". We were surprised as we thought that the seating was setup to accommodate our family. We had sat down with our small children hoping to get food soon, as they were getting tired and hungry but instead of being able to order we were being forcibly removed from the premise without a valid cause. At this time, I told the manager that we were about to order but he continued arguing saying that we just could not be seated since they were others waiting. I'm sorry but are you KIDDING Me? This is the most unprofessional and rude place we've encountered. The manager (Charles) kept arguing that we kept misunderstanding him but if you can't communicate to people then clearly you are incompetent. I have never been treated with such contempt at a public estsblishment in my life and not only was this extremely frustrating but humiliating as well. We were valid customers just hoping to have some great peri peri chicken but now we are forever tainted and will never eat at this establishment ever again. I have been to this semi-fast food chain in some other city in the past, but I cannot remember where. This instance in Christopher Place is constantly busy in the evening. The service model is different than other l have experienced, perhaps due to how crowded that area is each evening with good weather. They have a host (or perhaps several) assigning seating, with menu's at the tables. Then, you get up and order and pay at the counter. Drinks are served immediately from the counter, then food dishes are brought to your table. The chicken (I had the medium sauce) was better than I expected, grilled with some crispness on the outside without drying out the breast. My coleslaw and "Macho Peas" sides were fair indifferent. No real negatives, the staff seemed a little down, but I was there after nine, so perhaps they were tired. read more

I cannot understand the lack of vegan options at Nando's...there are so many good vegetarian wraps/burgers, but you preclude an ever growing demographic from attendance by putting in...what exactly? I can't imagine that the vegetarian options substantively improve by not being vegan. Further, and perhaps this is not the fault of this particular establishment, I find the role that Nando's plays in social media to be tiresome and uninspired. They first told us there were no chips available yet as not enough staff hadn't arrived yet, but we saw others having chips delivered to them.
