The Full Platter for 2 people

When the plane lands at Heathrow and you're back in London Town... you immediately say to your gf, "Babe, we goin' to Nando's." Knowing nothing of the restaurant, she walks in with me, is confused by the order process and how it physically resembles being in an American chain restaurant. But when the food arrives, the happiness of the people around her hits and the aromas of a real chicken meal automatically makes her into a massive fan! The two floors of eccentric SoHo customers, teamed with the helpful staff, plenty of sauce bottles, REAL Fanta from the fountain and delicious spice smells ALL complimented what she called, "one of the best chicken meals she's had in a while." We ordered the full platter (meal for 2) and I finally felt like I was properly welcomed back to London! Medium peri-peri whole chicken, broccoli rabe, mac & cheese, corn on the cob and the Portuguese tomato salad were perfect compliments of one another. So much so that we pretty much ate the whole thing. Even better, we arrived at 20:50 and when they closed at 22:00, we were well on our way to enjoy the rest of the evening. Great service, great food, great ambiance and a proper first Nando's experience for the girlfriend. This location is highly recommend

My first time. And based on a fellow Yelper's review. Love the whole concept and experience. This isn't fine dining, but it's not fast food either. Perusing the menu, I decided on 1/4 chicken. Then upped to 1/2 chicken. And destroyed it... it's VERY good. Started with cured olives. Sides: 3S: Sautéed Spicy Spinach and fries. Fries were forgettable. The spinach was delicious. Chicken was grilled perfectly. And a nice glass of dry rose. Non-dairy chocolate gelato for Takeaway. I'll be back.

- Good prices - Friendly service (they seat you at a table and you order at the counter) - Good chicken - Even better sauces (tons to choose from!)

Nando's is a must have while you are visiting London. It's a popular chain and is known for their chicken and incredibly awesome sauces. This location we went to was a bit nicer than the one I'm normally use to. They bring you to your seat and then you go up to the register to order. It is important that when you come to order something with chicken because that IS their signature. However, they do have a few vegetarian options for all y'all veggies so no worries. Their sauces are awesome and a must try while you visit! If you aren't a fan of too hot or spicy flavors I will warn that even the mild sauces have quite a kick to it! They have sandwiches, wraps, and plates. You can order a la carte or you can select from one or two side options as well.

When I was planning on going to London, my friends asked me what I wanted to eat so we could meet up for lunch. I said anything that has chicken. They recommended Nando's to me. I was very excited to go to Nando's because I have NOT heard anything negative about Nando's from anyone I know who has eaten there. Everyone has told me that I would be happy and satisfied. Nando's is a South Africa chicken chain restaurant that has Portgugese influences. Unfortunately, ther is no Nando's restaurants in near me. According to Wikipedia, Nando's opened its first United States location in 2008 in Washington, D.C. Nando's currently has over 30 restaurants in the US: seven in the Chicago area, four in Washington, D.C.; thirteen in Maryland; and six in Virginia. Nando's, please come to Atlanta. Nando's is casual fast food. You order up front and you will take a number to your table and they will bring out your food to you. With that being said. Nando's was everything and plus some. The chicken is very flavorful, juicy, with a crispy char exterior. I ordered the boneless thighs cause it just taste better. It came with four pieces so I was surprised. You get to choose your heat level too and since I love spicy food, I got the spiciest but of course, it was just mild to me. Two side items - chips (fries for us Americans) & a healthy quinoa salad (I know to offset the fries I got). What makes Nando's special also are the sauces! So freaking good. I loved Nando's so much that I headed the supermarket and bought the marinade. I didn't get the sauces cause I thought I couldn't take it on the plane with me. I regret not getting them. I got home and marinated boneles chicken thighs and chargoal grilled them a few days later. It did not disappoint. Now I have to learn to perfect the recipe.

It may surprise some to read that London Yelpers converged on Nandos today for the Chicken 3.0 aka Nandos Spring Revolution event. However, this thread may help to explain how this unlikely UYE came to be (http://www.yelp.co.uk/events/london-chicken-3-0-aka-nandos-spring-revolution) The Nandos revolution has swept across the UK in the last few years with their simple brand of griddled peri peri chicken in 5 different sauces. It's reliable if a little corporate and formulaic This Soho branch has a little more character though with a nice basement. We managed to get a nice corner booth with comfy sofa style seating for our party of 8. We ordered at the counter and the food was delivered quickly even if one of the vegetarian burgers was missing the advertised halloumi cheese - this error was quickly and professionally rectified As always, my chicken leg was a bit on the small side but it had flavour What made the afternoon special was the chat with good Yelp friends with topics ranging from the sugar in Sunkist drinks to finding out that one of our party was a professional session drummer to trying to set up some cultural UYEs in the near future

When I am feeling a bit lazy and don't have a care in the world how much I spend on Chicken on a certain day, it is fair to say that I will be at Nando's especially if I am with some of my work colleagues. Nando's is nothing extra ordinary but at the same time.. It is. It is food one can whip up on the BBQ on a nice sunny day given that they now sell their sauces in various store including Costco. But why is going to Nando's still so great?! Is it the fact that we don't have to ask for the bill after stuffing our faces with chicken, corn, mash potatoes and fries and wiping off the sweat we have falling off our foreheads from the slightly spicy (or very spicy to some) food? What ever the answer or excuse if you will, Nando's is still a great place to grab some over priced chicken with people who share similar interests with you.. That is picking which sauce to go for and their love for chicken... This particular Nando's is designed nicely and split into two floors each with an ordering bar and in the bottom floor sits more comfy booths and dim lights. If you are not a Londoner, start getting used to people saying "A Cheeky Nando's on a Friday?" or "A Cheeky Nando's? It's Pay Day!" In all honesty, there are definitly other places to go for good and low cost chicken but Nando's is a guilty pleasure so Happy Chicken-ing!

Peri Peri Whole Chicken

Pouring rain and completely famished. How am I going to say no to a whole seasoned chicken and a giant basket of chips!? Of course not! We randomly discovered Nando's a side street off Oxford and discovered Portuguese deliciousness. They have an interesting concept of seating where you are seated by the hostess, then order at the counter and then a server brings out your food. Odd combo of service, but hey, it was great food and everyone was very friendly. Nando's is obviously known for their spicy, seasoned whole chickens and giant sides like chips, mashed potatoes, and mashed peas. To those of us in the U.S., it was like Buffalo Wild Wings meets Portuguese and British cuisine. We ordered between the two of us a whole Peri-Peri seasoned chicken and a giant basket of chips. ( I know, I know. This vacation is starting to sound REAL healthy). We ordered the medium level spice which ended up being perfect. It was tangy with just enough kick to leave your craving your drink without burning or being overwhelming. And even though we didn't have a traditional server, everyone was so nice and kept swinging by our table and checking on us to make sure it was going well. The place we pretty packed both upstairs and downstairs so it seemed to be a quite popular place. This would probably have to my first experience with Portuguese cuisine and it was sort of without knowing until halfway through the meal. I definitely enjoyed the meal and with all the spice, I definitely was glad they had fountain sodas and teas. This was the only place is the UK that I saw fountain sodas outside of fast food. Overall, great food and cool service, solid 4 stars!

Boneless sharing platter (mixed greens and chips as sides) and hummus starter.

My wife was a bit apprehensive to eat here as it's a "chain" restaurant and we were on holiday, but I'm glad we decided to try it out. We had a sharing platter of their boneless chicken and a starter hummus. The chicken was really great, nicely cooked and in a peri peri marinade. I can describe it as a mild Frank's Red Hot type of taste. It was very good. The facilities were ample and very clean. The staff was also courteous and efficient. Highly recommended and would definitely eat here again. 10/10

1/4 hot peri-peri chicken with peri-peri chips and mushy peas

Out of all the Nando's peppered throughout Central London, this is my flagship location. Its spot in Soho couldn't be any more central- close to Leicester Sq, Piccadilly Sq, Tottenham Ct Road, etc.- so I end up here frequently, filling my face with surefire chicken-and-chips goodness. There's never a wait, there's never been a problem with service or delivery time, and the food's never been inconsistent. I swear the hot peri-peri chicken with peri-peri fries and perinaise is a contender for "The Last Meal I'd Want Before I Die." If you're a London tourist, this would be the first dining spot I'd take you to. Viva la Nando's!!!

Whole chicken, very tender
Tawana W.

I ordered the meal with the whole chicken, with a side of spicy rice, French fries and mashed potatoes. The chicken was nice and tender and the hot sauce was the perfect amount of spice! The spicy rice wasn't really spicy but had a good flavor to it and the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy! The prices are affordable for what you get and the food was fresh and hot! The restaurant is kind of loud with music blasting and lots of people trying to talk over the music, but the food is worth dealing with the noise.

My husband loved it. We had to order the hot sauce online so he could have it when we got home in the United States.

I wanted something with at least one good veggie option, they wanted something with meat, and it had to be somewhere in-between Camden and Canary Wharf, not too pricey, and ideally close to the city because otherwise our Italian friend probably wouldn't make it. And lo and behold.... THE FAT BEAR!!! It was all we wanted and more! This place is sort of tucked away and up some stairs above a pub. It's really just a room and a half, which makes it super cozy and they have a pretty awesome looking bar. It's got warm lighting which makes the atmosphere really nice. Their cocktails were delightful and the service was excellent. I will make a very strange observation that someone working there had a very drunk friend who just sort of made herself at home. Then more joined and it turned into me watching this table of really really drunk people trying to order food. Two of them ended up just falling asleep. It was super strange. Anyway, me being distracted aside, I really loved the cocktail I ordered- Sloe Boat To China, and everyone else seemed happy with theirs. I was dying to try the pimiento cheese starter and the fried pickles. The cheese was particularly sharp and delicious. The pickles were good, but quite skinny (I mean come on, you're in an American restaurant I was expecting some serious pickles). The vegan gumbo was super spicy and delicious. I was impressed and enjoyed it. My husband dropped the ball and ordered the regular jambalaya (with sausage) rather than the seafood one which broke my heart a little bit, because I really wanted to try it. You know, I guess that means we'll just have to come back. Oh also another bonus, this place has brisket which is really hard to find. I can't say how it tastes but my friend said he defo approves (am I becoming more British with these words, or just more annoying?) Anyway, to finish it off I had the oreo cheesecake which the bomb. I love oreos. And it tasted like oreo. So all was right with the world. A wonderful place to come if you have people who want to try American food, or if you have out of town Americans who are too scared to try other food, or if you have hungry friends that want to try cajun food, or if you just want to try some really yummy food.
