This place was okay, it is pretty much a British version of Chipotle. I had a vegan bowl and it was good. It is great place to dine at if you want a quick meal.

I love a good burrito and this place made my day. It's like chipotle (it's ok to compare right?). They ve got black beans!!! I LOVE black beans!!! I got a chicken burrito bowl with guac and was in heaven ! Great seasoning on their meats and delicious guac! I was disappointed with their chips, just not much flavour and a bit too cardboard like... But it didn't ruin my meal so I'm not too bothered about it. I also got their fresh lemonade and it was delicious and refreshing ! Similar to chipotle but different in spices and flavours, both good just different . I'll take a burrito bowl here any time!

My favourite joint for lunch on the go during a busy workday. I normally have the Grilled Chicken salad primarily because I find it easier to eat! For a regular salad under £6 is good value for money. Double meat costs £2.50 extra. Go big only if you have a huge appetite. They do Chicken, Steak, Pork and Prawns. Cost vary but mostly around six quid mark for a meal. It could be a Burrito, Nudo (or naked burrito), Salad or Tacos. The set up is that standard Mexican joint like the Chipotle or Tortilla but the flavours just burst through every bite you take. Conveyor belt model with multiple persons servicing. Spice Rice, Black or Pinto Beans, Grilled Bell Peppers, Three sauces of varying heat factor is perfect match for your food. I personally go for a mix of mild (salsa) and hot. The chicken (and presumably other meats as well) is seasoned and cooked to perfection. A dash of sour cream and cheese and their own proprietary dressing makes my salad perfect. I skip the Guacamole as it is charged £1 and is a shame. Having said that is quite good and is better tasting then others out there. Decent selection of drinks including home made Lemonade and beers and some interesting lunch combos. They experiment new recipes from time to time and they are currently doing a slow cooked shoulder of pork which I got to taste today and it was pretty good. If you have been to the other standard Mexican on the go places you will know what to expect however the flavours will blow you away and the Islington branch will transport you to Mexico the way it is decked up, check out the seating upstairs which is creatively done! Last but not least the happy smiling welcoming staff complete the experience! Highly recommended!

My pork burrito was so good I almost went against eating it and rubbed that meat wrap from heaven all over my body. Seriously the wrap was STACKED with tastiness. It was a behemoth. The counter assistant asked me if I wanted a filling I said yes. Everything they offered, I took it. For £5.90 I had a meal in a delicious flour tortilla. and it made me really happy. Now there is talk that this is not authentic Mexican food. It is supposedly some form of chipotle. This means nothing to me. All I know is that when I bit into the thing and those flavours hit my taste buds, I clamped my lips together to suppress the soul wrenching moan of pleasure that was erupting within. It was good. It was real good. For the less hank you can get smaller taco's for around £1.80, or tortilla chips and salsa. But for me it will always be a stacked buritto, drenched in Chilula. Next time I may order a Corona with it too.

This is what we need more of in London. Chilango is the ultimate fast food place for grown ups. Instead of slush puppies they have frozen maragarita, and instead of really junky food they have burritos, which is much better for you than a burger. It's a complete meal in a roll, and pimp it up with some salsa and guacamole and you're laughing! Chilango is the perfect place to go to with a bunch of friends and have a few drinks whilst being able to eat somewhere really cheap. The prices are rock bottom and you are paying for really nice food. Nothing is deep fried and swimming in oil which for cheap eats is pretty hard. I think Chilango is going to prove a hard act to follow.

It was fine. Not as good as chipotle, but service was quick and friendly. It's a weekday lunch spot

Great burritos which you can customise. The staff are friendly and there is a good atmosphere and nice Mexican music in the background.

During most of the week days, there are a bunch of pop-up food stands and the market gets swarmed with amazing smells. While trotting home one day, I saw a big Mexican flag waving towards the back end of the market. Quickly, I detoured during lunch time and headed through all the stalls to find Freebird Burritos. Swedish owned and operated, these fine Scandinavians made me one of the best carne asada (steak) burritos that I've had in London. The meat was lean and juicy and the spicing was excellent. Add in some tasty refried beans, cheese and a good helping of rice all wrapped in a tasty, albeit flour tortilla. So good and I can't wait to check out one of there other locations.

The staff is great (point 1), and they wrap their burritos like pros (point 2). Pork, beef, chicken and vegetarian burritos are options, as are fajitas and the "naked" burritos which basically shoves all the key burrito gear into a box without a tortilla. I'm not a big meat-eater, but the meat here is great...slow-cooked, no gristle, perfect bite-sizes, mega-tender. I always get an extra side of guac (60p) because it's a rule that avocado makes everything better. In my ideal world I'd add some more kick to it but, hey, that's being extremely picky. One burrito (6 pounds-ish, depending on your modifications) is more than enough for a hearty lunch. Which means I've never tested their chips or salsa or other things (but, note, they exist as options!). Yelp note: my new "secret sauce" is half HOT sauce half mild pico-de-gallo-style sauce. End result? A delicious medium heat. Y'welcome.

We shared a big plate of taco ingredients and tortillas. It was all very good and the good news is that with the variety there was something everyone liked. The space was chill and upscale while also feeling trendy. The drinks were also nice, mostly margaritas. In the end, nothing really stood out enough for me to remember or come back for if I wasn't in the area, but it would probably make my easy list of places that won't disappoint near the office.

Unfortunately, Mestizo charges per person and the minimum and maximum is two for this item So I couldn't order for one without paying forty dollars , and I'd be damned to pay that much. Having this rule is ridiculous. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant forcing you to order something that can easily be portioned to one. I ordered a marinated chicken with rice and beans. The beans were out of this world. Such a unique flavor I definitely was not accustomed to in the states. The rice was unfortunately bland. The chicken was marinated in this red sauce and was tasty for the most part. However , when I made my way to the center it became dry and had a weird taste. If you're gonna order this dish, proceed with caution. The dessert really outshined and redeemed my visit somewhat. I ordered the tres leches cake. This dessert is basically like a Mexican version of sticky toffee pudding. There are many overlapping factors. One key difference is tres leches uses a milk and cinnamon base , so it kind of tastes like a horchata cake.

Let me tell you, it was one of the best meals we had while we were in England for an entire month. Before we get to the food, I must give a shout out to the staff who were so warm, friendly and attentive. What we ordered: The short rib tacos for sharing. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it was DIVINE. The meat was so well seasoned and flavorful and it was literally falling off the bone. No, seriously, they bring it to your table, bone and all, and shred the meat for you. It's served with unlimited tortillas and some fixings for your tacos such as pickled red onions cilantro, etc. Caesar salad: A good solid caesar salad. Not the best I ever had in my life, but it was fresh, not too much anchovy in the dressing and came with a ton of shaved parmesan on top. Elote corn: nice and flavorful, corn was not soggy. Great smoky flavor from the grill. Guacamole: fresh and flavorful. Margaritas: Well balanced, not too sweet and enough alcohol to where you could taste it but it didn't make you grimace. I ended up ordering 2. Beer: Not sure which beer, but my husband said it was his favorite one he tried our entire trip. Ambiance was great, decor was beautiful, lighting was well put together. It was nice as clean as well, no sticky seats / menus.
