Oh my word, what can I say about chilangos! It's just simply Mexican perfection! Today, saw the opening of the new branch on Brewer street - at long last night I add! I've been seeing the signs for forever and finally it opened!! And typical chilangos style, they had a Mexican party to open the new shop - all food and drinks for FREE!! The queue unsurprisingly was mental long and I queued for 40 mins or so, but baby, it's chilangos, it's always gonna be worth the wait!! We were entertained in the queue with a Mexican brass band playing and basically lighting soho up! All staff had their face painting and there was a genuine fiesta atmosphere going on, with people from builders to office workers stopping for selfies.. Anyways onto the food and even though it was crazy packed and the queue ran fast - the quality was still 5 stars. The guac, perfectly complemented the black beans and peppers.. Oh the prawns, damnnnn were they good! The whole thing went down a treat! It's like one of them blink then you miss it moments!!!! Too good! Congrats on the new shop and damn I'm coming back haste pronto and bringing everyone!! People need to know!!!

I've been to chilango a few times now, the staff are always friendly and it's a fast service. I have the surf and turf bowl and they will always cooked the prawns and steak if they need to. It's never a long wait, great value for money. I would highly recommend.

Madera at Treehouse London - Churros with chocolate sauce and cinnamon ice cream

We booked Madera for a friends birthday party. We wanted something with a good vibe and good for…read moresharing and Madera fit the requirements. I was the first to arrive and we greeted immediately upon walking I. The front doors and escorted to the lift and sent upstairs to Madera. I was greeted once off the lift and offered to wait at the bar while they finished preparing the table. I tend to arrive early and I was early. I ordered a drink from their nice selection of tequila and before my drink was ready the table was ready. They sat me at the table and brought my drink to me. We had a table along the window and were able to watch sunset while we celebrated my friend. I feel like we ordered most of the menu to share amongst the table. Our server was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great suggestions for the table. I'm pretty sure we ordered almost the entire menu. Food quality was fantastic. The vibe, service, and food quality really made for a wonderful celebration. Make a reservation and add this to your itinerary if visiting London and if you are a local give it a try.

Ceviche was meh but the chips / salsa / guacamole were excellent. Had some weird "rocks" entrees where they bring your meal on a hot rock... everyone who got one (both the shrimp and the chicken) was disappointed and also seemed hard to eat. Good sides for the pulpo... potatoes and street corn. Service was a bit random... odd timings and couldn't figure out how to out things down on the table / which plates to clear, etc. strange.

Good tacos with a nice atmosphere and decent margaritas…read more Came here with friends from work for a fast bite near our Brock-street office. We shared a big plate of taco ingredients and tortillas. It was all very good and the good news is that with the variety there was something everyone liked. The space was chill and upscale while also feeling trendy. The drinks were also nice, mostly margaritas. In the end, nothing really stood out enough for me to remember or come back for if I wasn't in the area, but it would probably make my easy list of places that won't disappoint near the office.

Unfortunately, Mestizo charges per person and the minimum and maximum is two for this item So I couldn't order for one without paying forty dollars , and I'd be damned to pay that much. Having this rule is ridiculous. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant forcing you to order something that can easily be portioned to one. I ordered a marinated chicken with rice and beans. The beans were out of this world. Such a unique flavor I definitely was not accustomed to in the states. The rice was unfortunately bland. The chicken was marinated in this red sauce and was tasty for the most part. However , when I made my way to the center it became dry and had a weird taste. If you're gonna order this dish, proceed with caution. The dessert really outshined and redeemed my visit somewhat. I ordered the tres leches cake. This dessert is basically like a Mexican version of sticky toffee pudding. There are many overlapping factors. One key difference is tres leches uses a milk and cinnamon base , so it kind of tastes like a horchata cake.

WHAAAAAATTT?!?!?!? The spot is pretty small and intimate with smooth music playing for you to snap your fingers to while chatting all night long. They were pretty busy so they offered us a seat at the bar where Simon, the bartender, greeted us warmly. We perused the menu with big eyes and salivating mouths. We started off with drinks - I got a pink drink that was similar to a jalepeno margarita but better - looks like pepto bismol but was SO good, friend got agua refresca which also had a hint of spice - SO GOOD. Now, let's get to the food! First round we ordered chips & guacamole, pork belly chicharron and the tuna sashimi tostadas - absolutely divine. The pork belly was perfection, crispy outside and soft inside and the tuna was amazingly soft! Next round was 'Nduja esquites (fried corn) and the pumpkin & cauliflower barbacoa - meals like this make me realize I truly could be a vegetarian. The plating of the food was absolutely beautiful and we loved watching the head chef Raul and his sous chefs work. He is so serious about his craft - focused, determined and the food is served with bravado and love. Next time over the pond, I definitely plan to pop in here again! Who knew London was such a foodie's paradise?

In. Credible. Best tacos I've ever had. The lamb shoulder…read moretaco came first - full of flavour and depth, with a zingy salsa on top. Chock full of meat and fully delicious. Second was the fish taco. Lightly battered with a stunning mayo and lovely pickled cabbage to balance the flavours. The best of the lot (and it was a tough choice) was the pigs head quesadilla. The meat was on top rather than inside which threw me to begin with, but once I got stuck in I didn't care. My god. The actual quesadilla itself was UNBELIEVABLE. Cheesy, soft in the middle with a crispy edge, just delicious. And the pork and pickled cabbage combo on top was out of this world. I could have eaten 3 quite easily. My mezcal negroni was lush. Not discernibly different from a normal, well made negroni (a good thing) and I enjoyed it a lot. Service was excellent and friendly and dishes came out when ready. Place itself was very buzzy and cool, great atmosphere. Quality lunch at a quality restaurant.
