One of my favourite cocktail bars in London, and always my go-to whenever I have friends visiting from out of town and I want to show them somewhere unique. The bartenders here are fabulous and I've loved watching them create new and creative drinks over the time I've been coming here. They're great staff that love what they do, and you can tell in the making of their cocktails. Ask them for something they've been experimenting with if you're feeling risky ;) I've had several different drinks from the main list of cocktails (which include themes ranging from Narnia to Hungry Caterpillar to Winnie the Pooh). The drink menu is an absolute delight to read through, like venturing back into childhood... but with alcohol lol. I'd recommend reserving a table ahead of time, but usually they can work you into a table if need be.

Arrived on a saturday around 3pm. Although normally this would make me rethink my drinking and potential alcoholism, in London in December the sun sets around 3pm so it was basically evening and therefore kosher (or so I tell myself). Not too many people at 3pm on a sat so we got seated at the bar right away. Drinks. Were. On. Point. Bar seating was great because we got to see all the creative drinks in action. Mini popcorn garnish? Check. Served in a slushie cup? Check. Scotch in a coke can? Check. Very cool & fun. Look for the pig knocker! And if you can't find it, it might be because it's hidden under a wreath.

After not being able to get a reservation at night during my quick 2 day trip to London I opted to make a lunch reservation instead. When I arrived thru the "hidden" optician door I realized that the Blind Pig was directly connected to their other restaurant, so no worries if you walk in the wrong door. I ordered a few cocktails out of their story book menu. All were creative, well presented, and most importantly delicious! The food was excellent too. The Truffle Mac and Cheese with the added supplement of Summer Truffle was literally perfection. The portion size was reasonable too, it would make a great appetizer or small entree. Also tried their Fried Chicken Sandwich, also very tasty but you can have one of these anywhere. Definitely worth a stop for some creative cocktails in London!

The drinks are amazing. Feel like a bit of Harry Potter, Winnie the Pooh or just need a toxic memory eraser to wash away some troubles? Whatever your fancy, you'll find it here. And if you are feeling a bit of a rumble in your belly, try the truffle mac and cheese, it is absolutely amazing!

Had enough of beer? Over gin and tonics? I don't know for certain either of those things is possible*, but either way, if you're in the mood for a change of pace and a more chill setting than your average London pub, TBP is a pretty solid call. It's marketed as a speakeasy, and I suppose it normally is, but the day we went they were having a bit of a technical issue (read; inadvertent indoor waterfall). As such the main "secret" door was closed, and the more conspicuous side door was how we got in. I knocked a few times like the idiot American I am, only to realize I was not in fact at the "knocking" door. When someone came out, we quickly, and in SUCH cool fashion (no chill I tell you), ran right in. We were pleased to find the place realizingly empty, and after confessing to only wanting a few cocktails (apparently you can eat downstairs), we were told to head up to the lounge. It was a cool spot to order a few of their signature cocktails - waterfall and all. I wont ruin the menu for you, but it is full of drinks named after some of your favorite childhood characters. There is one, in particular, that is ice-themed (Tummus's) that you have to try if you're here; it's like drinking a Turkish delight (if you're into that sort of thing). Pricerier than a pub, but with better drinks, this place is worth stipping by if you're in need of a change of pace. ________ *Or maybe I have a massive drinking problem, jury is still out.

So cute and non descrip from the outside. Located next to a fancy restaurant with no signs for the pub except a metal pig head at the door. Really adorable menu and great fries, a must have!

I really liked the feel of this place - it was like I'd stepped into a different era. My date had warned me the door wasn't clearly marked from the street; what I hadn't expected though was a sign saying 'Optician' instead! The blindfolded pig head door knocker and muffled music soon gave it away though. I headed straight up the staircase, past the truffle smells coming from the restaurant on the ground floor, following the swing music sounds to the classy upstairs bar. This unintentionally gave me some extra exercise, as after finding my date saving a couple of bar stools for us I had to head back down two flights of stairs to the basement in search of the loo. The bar itself was busy busy on a Wednesday eve, with all the seats taken and a fair crowd of lurkers ready to swoop as they emptied. My date was feeling pretty pleased with himself, not only for suggesting the venue but also getting there early enough to get us a couple of spots at the bar. Nice work indeed! They sadly didn't have one of the ingredients for the Laphroaig 10 based 'long islay iced tea' I chose first, but after asking for another whisky cocktail the sweet barman made me a 'Buck Stops Here', which had plenty of ingredients I didn't even recognise (what's a Benjamin Franklin when it's in a drink?!). It tasted fine, perhaps a little sweet for me. I think I actually enjoyed the showmanship behind the bar more than the final product - pouring liquid into a glass from a three ft height is definitely not as easy as he made it look! Great spot for a pre/post dinner drink, but almost a bit too bustling and animated to stay there all evening, and for the same reason I wouldn't recommend it for a group. It's one of the sexier looking speakeasies around though, the lights slightly dimmed but still light enough to read the menu (I have a mild hang-up about places that make me squint to unattractive extremes) and lots of gleaming bronze and marble surfaces around the bar. Slightly awks moment as two couples both tried to swoop for our spots as we got up - but we left them to fight it out themselves!

I brought my friend here that was visiting from the States, we both loved it and couldn't stop snapping photos. The bar is above the Social Eating House restaurant, 'speakeasy' style. The staff were really nice and the bar manager even sat down to chat to us and recommend cocktails he thought we would like and it was just a bonus that they were Instagram worthy!! I tried the Robin Hood, quince of at thieves cocktail and my friend had the Silver Screen. The Robin Hood cocktail was really light and refreshing with great flavor. I love that they have such attention to detail, the cocktail had an apple on the side with 'arrows' shooting through it, very Robin Hood! And the Silver Screen cocktail had a little box popcorn attached! The Silver Screen is like an old fashioned and my friend said it was best she had tasted. The bar area is cool with prohibition era styling and the barmen wear braces, which all adds to the look. I will definitely be taking all my visitors here! It was quiet when we went on a weekday afternoon, but I expect it gets quite busy on weekends. It is also in a really handy location to drop in for a cocktail after a day of shopping.

    The Silver Screen cocktail!

Hidden above the Social Eating House, like a true speakeasy. Look for the "Opticians" sign and the door with the distinctive knocker. The Social Eating House is easy to find; the Blind Pig is on the floor above it. We got several rounds of cocktails, all of which were delicious. We also tried the fish and chips (with goose fat fries!) which were some of the best fish and chips I've had in London. Everything is fairly expensive (as is typical for a nice cocktail bar) but not ridiculous. I highly recommend if you are looking for a great cocktail in London, or some nice snacks.

Great cocktails and a decently deliciously named list. All cocktails are up to par although portions might be just so slightly small. Don't be fooled by the restaurant hours this place hits its bar hour at the merely awakening NOON O'CLOCK. aka the boozy big twelve PM. that's right folks, good booze comes in good hours, and this is where y'all should be at. Drinks also came fairly quick too. Last words: be merry? get tipsy.

Came here on a Friday night based on the amazing reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. I've Gotta say - I wasn't blown away. Yes it's a cool entrance. But the cocktails were pretty small, they weren't chilled, and were no better than regular cocktails you can get for a tenner pretty much anywhere. Service was good despite it being a busy Friday night. Without a reservation we managed to get a perching spot. They could do with putting the AC on..

Situated above Social Eating House restaurant, this is one of my favourite cocktails bars in Central London. It's usually pretty busy but have so far been able to nab some seats by the bar on my visits. The bar staff are really friendly and attentive, and they mix up some really impressive cocktails! One of my favourites was the Night Watchman. Service is fast and efficient, you don't have to wait ages for your drinks like some other bars that I've been to. I love sitting at the bar and watch the different cocktails being mixed up, which then tempts me to order it for myself (!) The interior decor is cool and classy, great for a night out with friends or for a romantic date maybe? ;)

Can you tell I don't get out much? At least for drinks. Anyway. We came here with some friends and took advantage of their 2 for 1 offer (meaning you get two drinks for 10 pounds). It impressed me that they served really good drinks for such a good price. I personally loved The Last Word (super strong but great flavour) and the Elderflower Margarita (YUM!). They both packed a punch but weren't so overpowered with liquor that they didn't taste nice. The bar staff was fun as well. The one that wasn't popular was the honey one. I can't remember the name but none of us liked it. It's a cool bar!

This was one of the few places the bf and I had booked to go to during a brief 3-day trip to London, due to the 2 for £10 cocktails and general good reviews it had. I kinda wish we hadn't! Upon arrival the place was practically empty (but it was like bang on 6pm on a Monday, so a lot of people hadn't arrived for happy hour yet) and staff showed us where our reserved booth was. All good to start off with, the place looks pretty cool inside and the tunes were good too. Here's where it starts to go downhill. I skipped up to the bar having decided with the bf which cocktails to get (at this point we didn't realise 2 for £10 meant two of the SAME cocktail, because they never mention it) and ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri for the bf, plus a Chocolate Martini for myself. Nope, couldn't get the one I wanted as they were out of chocolate liqueur, so it was back to my seat to try and decide on another. I was gutted but excited about my next choice, the Show Me The Honey. NOPE. They were out of honey vodka so I couldn't have that one either! I get that obviously it's a busy bar at weekends, but I thought that was an extremely poor show - the staff weren't hugely apologetic about it either which didn't exactly help. Finally deciding on a Russian Spring Punch (yay, they had all the ingredients for that one!) I ordered the drinks. The bartender said "you know it's 2 for £10 yeah?" but again didn't mention the fact that it's two of the same cocktail for £10. Once he started making up the drinks I of course caught on to what was happening, whereupon he looked at me like I was an idiot for not knowing something they never openly tell you. Great. I begrudgingly paid for our drinks (I wouldn't really have minded except the bf wasn't sure if he'd want more than one cocktail and we now possessed four, plus I was really wanting to try a couple of cocktails instead of two of the same one) and went back to the booth, more than a bit deflated by this point. The cocktails were...fine. The champagne in my cocktail wasn't the nicest but it did the job of course. The atmosphere in the bar was...also fine. But that was it. Fine. It stayed pretty quiet the whole time we were there and I guess just wasn't the whole cocktail bar experience I was expecting. We then made our way to Cahoots where we had an absolute belter of a time and it totally saved our night, goes to show that sometimes you really do get what you pay for!

I'm not sure how close this bar is to Brazilian nightlife, but to me this bar feels typically Brazilian in cadence. I just love the atmosphere, the enthusiasm, the music, you feel transported to another place and I just don't understand how very few people, even those living in Camden, don't know about this bar! I was introduced by a lovely Yelp friend and try and get back whenever I'm in Camden as I really love this place. To me this is one of Camden's real hidden gems. So why do I love it? Let me count the ways: Live music: I'm not sure if there is someone on every night, but I'm always shocked by them hosting some fantastic, extremely talented musicians. Intimate setting: As a tiny little venue you huddle around small tables, it feels cozy, personable and warm. Art work: Walls, ceilings and tables are plastered with art, pictures, paintings collages drape all surfaces. It's like some hipster arty underground cavern... like so many bars in Shoreditch are trying to achieve, but this place isn't trying, it has charm and personality without having to try. Caipirinhas and mojitos: Using traditional Brazilian ingredients the cocktails here are just superb... and after a few you can't help but sink back into your seat and enjoy the ambiance. I'd also recommend the Cuba Libra, I'm usually not a fan, but would make an exception here. As a cocktail bar you need to expect to pay cocktail prices, but the live music, amazing atmosphere and art are free.

Apparently the owners want it to feel like someone's living room and it definitely has a relaxed and locals-come-here vibe, although our seating area was in what was once a VIctorian police cell, which was probably less cosy back in the day. The interesting concept here is to serve small bites of food tailored to each house cocktail which a beautifully presented and explained, as are the cocktails themselves. We sampled almost all of the house cocktail menu and generally everyone was very impressed. I think several people really liked the park bench, with its strong apple flavour, although I personally found it a bit one-note. In fact, I wouldn't say any of the cocktails here got it quite right for my palate, some of the balancing of flavours didn't quite work for me and none of them particularly blew me away. They were pretty good, but there weren't any I found incredibly delicious and "incredibly delicious" is really what I am looking for in a cocktail. I had the Get Me a Bourbon, I'm Hungry and Lost in Alaska. The first was a short drink which wasn't massively memorable, contra my favourite ever bourbon cocktail, the fantastic bourborini once on the specials at Pitt Cue Co. Lost in Alaska I thought was nice although others said they thought it tasted medicinal! Service was great - helpful, patient and attentive. It's expensive, especially now I live in Manchester and can get better cocktails at the Fitzgerald for £4 less, but I would still recommend Knowhere Special, especially if you're nearby having dinner.
