Really nice bar!! Always busy it seems. Nikusha first told me about it (apparently it's a really popular bar for our school), but somehow I never made it there all of last year. I finally did this fall with Ivan though, and it was a really fun time!! We got a couple of the Tiki-Tango drinks (pineapple juice, mango vodka, cherry rum -- super fruity!!) and they tasted great. Talked a lot about some serious issues, and I obstinately tried defending my viewpoints (and even convinced him on quite a few I think ;)). It was a week night but there were still quite a few people out there which made the ambience a lot more fun! If your hot and young go! If you have even a hint at not being the bar managers ideal perfection of a woman (that he has no chance with) you won't get a seat and you won't get served. His tie is too short and his attitude too poor. If I was you I would skip, the bartender is mediocre at best and their knowledge of wine sums up to the back of a bottle. My friend took me to this beautiful pub (see the pictures attached) before our dinner in London. This bar has two stories. I'll say down stairs for more younger clouds. I'm older clouds so I went upstairs for less noise. The bar has absolutely stunning setting. They had the mysterious shooters on the counters which I was not sure I was legal to take or not. Maybe someone who went to this bar will tell me what that was. Anyway this pub I would definitely recommend to make a reservation. It is in a popular destination in London. I had their local lager beer which was icy cold. The bartenders seem super friendly. I sat down upstairs where I felt like I was in someone's house. Very cozy settings in upstairs. The single most unfriendly pub in the British isles. Lousy beer, no atmosphere, and surly service.

This is by far one of the best cocktail bars I have been to- in London and the states! If you like hand-crafted cocktails that are fun to watch them make and delicious, then this is the place for you! They have amazing liquor selections (white chocolate vodka or mustard vodka anyone?), draft beers and plenty of wines. For the quality of the drinks, the prices are very reasonable. I could've spent all day here drinking! The bartenders are very funny and enjoyable. This place does get quite packed and no food. read more

More than likely skip it. We stopped here for a cocktail. Looks good from the outside... Then the bartender got into this big production making what he seemed to think was the best cocktail ever... at first I thought he was joking, so I just humored him... and was patient. Then he continued to draw the production out... holding the shaker way above his head letting drops of drink drip into the pint glass.... (missing the glass and getting some on the bar..) Towards the end he added MORE ICE on top (to water down my drink)... I was puzzled. I actually had to walk away and my girlfriend took care of the tab because it was so ridiculous. Whatever I had (there was suppose to be gin) tasted like fruit juice or a snow cone. The atmosphere is nice, and for a beer it would be fine... Wow I don't even know to start with this place! So I had the pleasure of date night there and it was just so much fun! The cocktail menu is out of this world! We tried a few of the cocktails and struck gold with all of our choices. The chilli infused gun with lychee was a moreish pink liquid which was so sweet and easy to drink, it barely tasted alcoholic. Yum! The ginger cocktail came in a cute glass with a brown mesh covering, which was a quirky touch! If you like ginger, this is a must have! The Bellini combine peach and nectarine liquor which was a slight different twist, but just ok, so I wouldn't necessarily get that again, as I feel it wasn't a stand out drink. If you like hot, hot, hot cocktails, then you gotta order the Walter Collins, which is a chilli and pisco mash up drink! Wowww is that hot. It's a kinda pisco sour with a spicy touch! I like spice, so it was good, although I have to say I would have swapped for the pink lychee drink... Seating wise it's so sparse, it's unreal, given how popular it is and I definitely think they need to consider more seating. All in all, it's a cool pub and they run a happy hour on a weekend, which is a winner for me! I've knocked it down to the lack of seating and also the female toilets being up a big flight of stairs.. Not bad. A little crowded on a Friday night. This pub is on a busy intersection with a LOT of foot traffic passing by. I get the feeling a lot of people use this as a meeting spot on their way to somewhere else. Lots of picnic table benches outside in this dark, but homey spot. Good mix of business people, but I imagine a lot of these people are tourists here. Didn't have any problem with sharing a table briefly with one of the locals. So it seems like a decently friendly place. Not far from the Sherlock Holmes hotel, and some references to Sherlock Holmes-like stories are referenced here. Ok place. Definitely the scene for the young, hip and well-heeled 20-30s crowd, this slightly pretentious, but quirky and homey little bar makes for a friendly (albeit pricey) evening out. I went there around the holidays and the place was teeming with probable regulars, the smell of mulled wine and/or peppermint concoctions thick in the air. The decor was pleasant and interesting. It was definitely a unique experience, but one suited to the trendy hipster. I normally like this kind of place, but my drink companions were looking more for quiet conversation and a good ale. Even for myself it became a bit too crowded when the tables beside us filled up. I'm not sure if it's meant to be a restaurant/cafe bar(?), but a table of about 6 guests (seated elbow to elbow with us) brought in with them some pizzas in cardboard takeaway boxes from another eatery. They nonchalantly proceeded to help themselves to some plates from behind the bar and dined ravenously, cheese and pepperoni flinging around, while they continued on their obnoxiously loud conversation. Maybe I'm just not trendy enough (certainly true), but is bring-your-own-dinner a "thing" in London? Not really an idea that should catch on, IMO. Although the clientele that frequent The Marylebone may be sharply dressed, the behavior of that particular crowd helped rush our party out pretty fast. read more

I went to this place with some friends to enjoy the happy hour (2 cocktails for 1) but it turned out they were not doing any of it that particular week, which was strange. You either do the happy hour any time or you don't. You can't advertise something if you can't deliver. Plot twist! They did allow some people to have 2 cocktails for the price of 1, but when I asked for the same, they refused, again. Besides, apart from one French bartender, the staff there was not friendly at all, it was like we were annoying them with our orders. They trick you into the pub with 241 cocktails, however there is a £10 minimum on card so you're forced to spend more (crisps are £1.80 so no luck there) and you're forced to buy 2 of the same cocktail for God knows why. I don't think I like this pub for the right reasons. I like it because it's in one of my favourite areas of London. Everyone forgets about Marylebone, even though it's only a few minutes from Bond Street. It's no somewhere I frequent, so when I do, it's fun. It's a lovely area, the shops are fab and wondering around makes me happy. So the Marylebone makes me happy. But it's not nearly as nice a pub as they like to think. The service can be pretty shoddy. With five behind the bar, the restocked the shelves and left us standing for close on ten minutes. We very nearly left. But once you've got a drink, it's a nice place and you tend to forget that the service was bad. It's not cheap (but then, in this area, you wouldn't expect that, and I wasn't allowed to suggest the Sam Smiths pub up the road). I like it here, but it's a bit snotty. It gets four stars because it's in the perfect location. Really, it's a three star pub that's a bit shiny. Not that you'll care once you've stumbled out of La Fromagerie. read more

My cousins and I went during happy hour from 8-9 PM daily (and 12-8PM on weekends) which are 2:1 specials for about 6 or so drinks. They infuse a lot of their own spirits and have excellent, attentive bartenders. I had the kaspunka and the bellini. The bellini was a little sour but the Kaspunka was right on the money! Perfect sweetness, fluffiness and chili. The clientele is upscale, the men are in suits after work. If you are single and interested, there appear to be many eligible handsome bachelors here. I would 100% go back, this is one of my favorite bars I've ever been to anywhere, let alone in London and very close to the Marylebone Hotel where I stayed. Favorite bar in London. AmaZing drinks, and great ambience. The bartenders are cute, charming, and talented at their craft (shout out to the Italian Stallions Matteo et Elia). They aren't bar tenders- they are ARTISTES. They pour each drink with care and panache. Like a well-tamed lion, they navigate the jungle that the bar is with a fierce and virile passion, improvising as needed to adapt to the tempestuous nature of alcoholic connoisseurs. They take pride in their art and treat each drink like their pièce de resistance. We ordered two drinks- the "black sapphire" and "oh my!". Our expectations were blown out of the water. The black sapphire was a gin-based cocktail loaded with mixed berries and mint. The flavors melded together harmoniously, and made for an excellent drinking experience. read more

Local boozer is a bit more stylish than your usual pub, yet not so much so that it lost its homey feel. Very popular with the 30 something after work crowd as you would expect in the area, it was packed on a Thursday night. As hard as it was to move around the inside space the bartenders were on their game and managed to get what the punters wanted quickly so you weren't spending ages waiting for drinks. Impressive given the continual orders. And it was nice to be able to get mixed cocktails and martinis. Reliable and easy with a good vibe. read more

This is a great place to grab a pint or better yet, a cocktail. They have a two for one cocktail offer that I tried today with a friend and it was pretty nice. The list, as you can imagine, was shorter than the regular cocktail list and a few were quite creative, so the options were limited. I had the Bellini and it was quite nice. It was the right mix of prosecco and juice. The bartenders were on top of things and the wait time to order was less than a minute. The atmosphere was quite nice - they had some live music; a woman singing some covers while playing the guitar. My only hesitation to meeting someone here is the lack of seating - it is quite a dilemma. But everything else was great and I'd definitely return. read more

This place is known for its Two for One cocktails from their special happy hour menu everyday. I came here for multiple birthday parties and the ambience is great and the staff are very friendly. Its a MASSIVE shame that was always a busy, great, friendly, BYO food, LOCAL has been changed to a (yet another) standard want-to-be young person bar. Give this a miss with both barrels! A few tips for the manager in "How not to treat a well behaved bunch of 40+ local punters". Tip 1: Don't be really aggressively rude to the birthday girl that's brought said 40+ people to your otherwise empty bar. Tip 2: Don't use dodgily wired light fittings that explode their wine bottle-sized bulbs down on to the drinkers below (see live-wire blown fitting in photo).
