Nice pub off the beaten path. Chill atmosphere and plenty of options for drinks and vittles.

Really nice little cocktail bar attached to The Park Hotel. We nipped in here for a night cap as Angela and Livi kindly informed us that if you download Drinki you can receive a free cocktail. Free cocktail? Yes please. The venue is rather grand, beautifully sleek and with a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered our cocktails, showed the kind gentleman our app and within minutes our cocktails were ready. They were pink and fruity. Being a fussy cocktail drinker I was apprehensive but they came in cute little bottles and you could actually get 2 full glasses out of one bottle which was great! I actually really enjoyed it and loved the crystallised orange and clove touch. Lovely bar, perfect for a relaxing drink. I'll be back!

I've visited Smith & Whistle once as a group of 8 to get free cocktails via the Drinki app. Must have been a pleasure for the staff right? A largeish not quiet group there to not spend any money? It didn't help that the waiter had no idea about the offer. Yet he was gracious and polite, even when trying to figure it out! Incidentally, I didn't think much of the cocktail - but it was free, nicely presented with a hint of Alice In Wonderland (always a winner in my book!) and in a little bottle that actually held two glasses worth. Can't complain! The drink didn't seem to be on the normal cocktail menu. but there were a few I'd like to try. Next time! The bar itself is lovely - a beautiful art deco interior as you would expect from a hotel bar on Park Lane. Very classy. I wasn't dressed for it. The toilets are quite nice too, lots of marble and a machine to shine your shoes (fancy!). I did get a little lost finding my way back to the bar though!

Such a pretty place! I loved the modern Art Deco decor just as much as the creative cocktails. The Inspector Detective Smith is a must-try, just like The Fizz; both are delicious and prefectly balanced. Good to find a bar that takes things a bit further than just mojitos and martinis!

Well impressed with this place! Yeah it's pricey, but it's Mayfair, so of course! The cocktails are great, seating area is so relaxed and the service is absolutely AMAZING!! It's that place you want a date to choose for you! Super ideal for a cosy, romantic night out or just a catch up with friends. I loved the menus, which was like a detective game, where you tick what you want. A nice touch and in keeping with how the place was founded! Definitely check out this place if you're in the area, even on a small budget, you can get yourself a beer for under a fiver, which is Londons standard price... What are you waiting for?!

So a massive group of yelpers decided to invade this sanctum of Mayfair tourists/residents due to Drinki, which gives us a free drink each. The decor is marvelous, the clientele are very smart looking, which promises a good time. We were all given iced water when we took our seats at the table. What I'm not so sure about was the free drink "the Mayfair Mystery". It had herbs on the outer rim of the glass, and what you would have thought was a cherry but actually was a chilli on the rim too! Errr!!! The drink itself tasted ok just not with the herbs/chilli!!! The manager of the place also had the craziest expression and manners so it wasn't as friendly as it could've been! Props to him however for mixing drinks for 4-5 of us though... Consistency is an issue as the second batch of the same drinks were a different colour and had extra fruits on the rim of the glass! Think the second round was done by the barman....

Mayfair Mystery (still not quite sure what's in it?!)

This bar is opposite green park and only a short distance from said underground station. Despite this, it has lots of outdoor space which is perfect for people watching or relaxing on a warm day (eg today - heatwave!!!!) the bar staff are friendly, can take a joke and are happy to help in any way. We tried the Mayfair mystery cocktail which was interesting to say the least! Would consider visiting again if I was in the area and wanted relaxed cocktails after work.

I was not able to pay for a bill in pounds, only in dollars. First time I see that in London. Rude staff. Do not recommend.

Remarkable, he scored and I literally walked around the corner and saw the long line to get into the pub first. I was seated immediately, however, and proceeded to enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast. Room was very pleasant (there are so many I got lost returning to my table from a bio brake. Roast was very good ( but no Lawry's) and the sides excellent. Could not decide if my favorite was the roast potatoes (crispy outside soft inside) or the glazed carrots. Yorkshire pudding was good but again, I am to used to the Lawry's and this is a different style. Peas were, well, peas, but very fresh. The sticky toffee cake was excellent and the Guinness fresh, creamy and a proper pour. Good thing because the selection of winners by the glass and half bottles of wine were both a little thin. Overall wine list was good but I was alone and not up for drinking a full bottle by myself. Overall, very enjoyable and to judge by the crowd and difficulty in getting a reservation, one of the more popular in town.

The history alone makes it worth visiting, and the location is perfect if you're exploring the area. It feels very classic London in the best way. We stopped in for a pint and honestly... the whole after-work beer culture over there is something I really need to bring back with me to the States. The beer was great, the atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and it just felt like one of those places where people naturally gather and stay awhile. Definitely worth stopping into if you're in the area.

Two story space - the ground floor feature the bar and handles walk in lunch; the upstairs is a dining room for those with reservations. Fun fact, as part of the history, the pub used to be the host of bare knuckle fights and had regulars like Charles Dickens. Wildfarmed sourdough - served with whipped salted butter and Guinness butter. Well toasted bread and the butters with salt were well made. Fuller's London Pride marinated steak and ale pie - served with seasonal veggies and red wine gravy, as well as either mash potatoes or triple cooked chips. If there is one dish London does really well, it's their pies. It was beautifully made and loaded with steak. The red wine gravy was decadent and added a perfect amount of moisture to the pie. Triple cooked chips were perfectly crispy but fluffy on the inside. Corn fed chicken breast - served with garlic and sage butter, mash potato, cavolo nero, and crispy onions. Only took a bite of this as it was my partner's dish but the bite of chicken I had was very juicy and well seasoned.
