Many of the Pubs around Tower of London close around 11:00 pm which I understand that if they didn't, most of the English would be hungover the next day at work. At least that's what I was told! We got here around 10:45 pm so we weren't able to sit back and enjoy our Pint. With only 15 minutes to enjoy the Pint, several other people were still enjoying themselves, there was a great vibe with background music and a nice patio outside with plenty of seating inside. But, it came to end real quick, maybe next time. This Pub is close to the Tower London Underground including several nearby Hotels, making it convenient to walk back and forth before having a nightcap at the hotel lobby. read more

Ate at the Draft House twice on my London trip. Overall, a great experience! This comes across as a fairly typical English Pub, at least in the Financial district of London. People in Business suits, drinking away every weeknight. The Scotch Eggs were a highlight. Also, some of the best Buffalo Wings I've ever had outside of New York/New England. The Burger was good too. The bartender talked me through the ciders available, and made some great suggestions. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is friendly, even if a bit busy. My only knock is that it is very busy, and very loud! If you're hoping for a quiet dinner, this isn't your place! But overall, a solid 4 stars! read more

This is pub is the place to go if you're a Hop Head! Our beer expert, Court, is truly amazing in her craft beer knowledge! Me and my GF Alicia, had seven different beer types during our stay, and loved every recommend that Court suggested, it was a really rare occurrence for us, but, super special indeed! We met my cousin here for our first spot of a memorable pub crawl. This spot has two levels and plenty of beers at the bar. My buddy and I ordered some beers before meeting up with my cousin and I remember we mostly drank lagers which were ok. We ordered some fish and chips but it took a super long time - 40+ minutes - to make it. Granted, it was somewhat crowded but few people were eating. When I inquired about it, the bartender I ordered from ran down to the kitchen to see what was up and of course, that's when they actually had the order ready. I do appreciate that the staff realized it was too long for me to wait and tried to do something about it. The fish and chips were large portions and the batter was quite crispy. This was a pretty happening scene with some good looking young people about so I really have to give it a 4 stars despite the crazy wait. read more

Tucked away in the heart of the city lies this little gem. Smashing beer selection, including casked beers. Great food, branded as Mexi-cali. With this in mind, I would have liked to have seen a burrito on the menu. Don't get me wrong, it's very much pub grub but it's good none the less. I had the jerk chicken, which ticked all the boxes with generous portions, well priced and tasty. I will have to say it came with the world's smallest ever portion of slaw however!! A great venue to watch sport on the MASSIVE screen. I visited during the England vs Wales Euro '16 football game and it was perfect for this. The place was very busy but there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout. Fun, no aggro, predominately populated with city boys. Table service throughout. A fantastic team of staff. Great beer atmosphere, really really poor food. We took our employees here for a night to let our hair down. The beers were great, albeit expensive - but I guess what you have to expect in London now. The disappointing part was the food, we ordered "the blow out", which was a collection of fried foods, that really lacked any flavour, or substance. They really need to up their game if they want to be serving the BBQ type food when Bodeans is just around the corner and doing a way better job. I really like this place. Food is good and super reasonably priced. Large draught selection of good options. I had the House burger and fries and they were delicious. Problem is the service. First, my other was wrong. The waitress suggested I get half regular/half sweet potato fries, which I was excited about, then she came back with regular ones only. What was much worse was that it took fifteen minutes for me to flag down a waitress to pay after I finished my meal. I ordered a dessert to go, since the bill took so long. Ten minutes later, it still hadn't arrived. My waitress basically abandoned me, as it seems she's the bartender as well. I was between a 3 and 4, but it has a lot of good things going for it. read more

Food was decent but not fabulous. Beer was good and fresh. I came here with another friend as it was near our hotel, so no complaints. It's a nice place to hang out in the evening, with a screen showing a golf tournament (and rather enthusiastic and vocal audience - why?) when I was there. Update: there is another entry on Yelp for this exact same restaurant but which had an average of 2.5 stars (as opposed to the 4 stars here while I'm posting)... While traveling in London for work, I asked the hotel staff for a lunch recommendation and they pointed me to this gem. Just a few short blocks from the Tower of London, this bar/small restaurant looks great inside and is very clean. The Fish and Chips were recommended, so of course I had to try it and I'm glad I did. Hands down, the best fish and chips i have ever had. Huge beer and wine selection, plenty of deals throughout the week, and a very friendly staff earned this place 5 stars. It was so good that I came back later the same night for dinner. If you are seeing the attractions in the area, and want to break away from the crowds and overpriced lunch/dinner spots, take a short walk to the draft house- you will be glad you did. read more

Had a very nice supper this evening. Not being a beer aficionado I'm trying to enrich my knowledge of gin and the lovely bartender spent a nice while talking about the various offering and letting me taste a few - very nice, not rushed or annoyed. I settled on two different option, both delicious and I would order again. Being Monday, burgers were half-price, so my wife and I split a burger and an order of fish and chips. Food was high quality, fresh, and reasonably priced. While far from a real pub - it's more like a gentrified pub chain - it fit the bill for being an easy walk from our hotel (Doubletree - Tower Bridge)for s late meal. All of the staff were quite friendly and happy to chat. No problem paying with Apple Pay with a US-based non-PIN card. read more

My only experience is with their half-priced burgers on Mondays. My smoke burger was tasty and made for a nice lunch, though the service was a bit slower than I would've liked. For half price, I'd say 4 stars - but for full price, probably just 3. read more

There were no crowds, there was no stress and I like it a lot. It may be a different story on a Thursday but on a Tuesday it was marvellous. Just arrived London with tired body by a long trip. Just found the bar nearby my hotel. It's really nice beer bar, the waiters and bartenders are very friendly and helpful. Many choices of draft beer but I didn't enjoy the British ale too much as I seldom drink this kind of beer before. There are 6 draft house bars around London, but for some reason they have 2 locations 10 minutes' walk from each other around Tower Bridge. Whilst I don't mind the one on the south side of the river, the one of the north is like an extremely loud beer hall that has me looking for the exit quite soon after i arrive. This place is obviously popular as it's been standing room only on the occasions I've been, but if you want to be able to talk to someone without shouting at them then I'd probably look elsewhere. read more

Fun place with good atmosphere and great beer. The food was very good and I enjoyed the shake and bake chicken with fresh cut fries and good cole slaw. I had the drafts of Belgian blond (7.0%) and Rouge IPA (6.5%) and enjoyed both. Service was a little slow and had to call her over a couple times to get refills but she was very friendly. What can i say about this place, being that it was right by my hotel i was not expecting much but wow was i wrong. When i walked in i was greeted with a tremendous smile from both servers asking what i would like but i needed a minute due to their extensive beer collection. After ordering my drink i decided to grab a snack, picking fried mac and cheese balls with jalapeno and wings. Being from nyc i was shocked how incredible the wings were. Lets just say in a span of 24 hrs i have been there 4 times.
