K, so for those of you from the UK, just know that those of us from the US consider this one of the top spots in Lundun-town for a good Mexi-brunch. For those from the US, SoCal peeps, in particular, hit this place up when you're missing the tastes of home. Those chilaquiles, holy crapoli, so damn good. And the cocktails, were always choice. Sadly, I often forget to take a pic as I was usually just jamming this goodness in my face and enjoying a grand brunch with my mates. I can't wait to return. What?!? A dope Mexican spot in Soho??? Yes. It was perfectly located AND the food and beer were awesome. The carne asada tacos were just okay, but the carnitas tacos were AMAZING. Updated review for brunch: My friend and I had brunch today and it was really nice! We each got an order of the Horacio- roast butternut squash, wild mushrooms, huitlacoche, crispy chestnuts, queso fresco (v, n) 8.00 and OC tacos- carrot & fennel puree, shaved coconut, chipotle oil (v) 6.50; as well as a glass of the Verdejo Bernado Farina, Toro. Both were fantastic although I'm particular to the Horacio because the squash is whipped fluffy and the portion is quite large per taco. Though somewhat pricey for tacos, the portion is hefty. The tortillas themselves are a bit light for my taste- they fall apart too easily so the dish is messy to eat by hands, the way tacos should be eaten- but still taste fresh and have a rich corn base like they should. The wine was a decent pour as well and very dry as I had requested. Service was not obtrusive and sitting in the sunshine outside, I was quite pleased with it. Once again, Corazon makes me happy!!! Older dinner review: My husband and I first stopped by here for drinks and dinner last Friday night. We sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks which were served by a pleasant and conversational bartender named Terri. The margaritas I had were strong and quite tasty though went too quick for £8+ a pop! We then ordered the ceviche which was served quickly, as tiny, round plantain crisps with a small bowl of diced ceviche. Quite tasty and interesting presentation as I have never seen chips or ceviche so tiny! But it was very cute. Then I got the veg Horacio tacos with butternut squash and my husband got the Carnitas. I was really torn on whether to get the Horacio, veg or Guv'nor option with prawns but was glad I chose Horacio as the squash was roasted just right and the crema and toppings on it added the right creaminess and spice. I scarfed the two tacos down and only wish I had originally upgraded the order to three as I was still a wee bit hungry after. My husband enjoyed his lamb tacos as well. Service was friendly and efficient, both rarities in London! The only catch, hence my dinking a star, is the front window was open for the pleasant early evening, and that would have been fine except for the two smokers outside. So the smell drifted over to where we were sitting by the bar. We complained and told the manager but she said she couldn't do anything so we just moved a bit further inside the bar. But really disappointing the restaurant values smokers more than nonsmokers. I ate here again Monday night with a friend and then had the Guv'nor tacos and camote as a side. Oh man the tacos are DELICIOUS and loaded with prawns and tiny shrimp. The crema and cheese atop just complement the soft tortilla perfectly. With the camotes, the portion was perfect. However, the camotes were only OK; they were a bit dry and not as tasty as the tacos so I asked for extra crema which the friendly server quickly brought over. For dessert my friend and I shared the fruit salad which comes with a lovely sorbet sprinkled with a tad of spice. A great palate pleaser. I can't wait to come back for brunch! read more

I never thought I'd say this, but London has some dang good Mexican food. Corazon is an intimate restaurant in the heart of SOHO. They serve up classic street tacos with a twist. Each and every ingredient was well thought out and added to the flavor explosion in each bite. This was one of my favorite places we dined in the city. We arrived 15 minutes after our reservation, because our bus was stuck in traffic. We called and they said they'd hold the kitchen open for us - how awesome is that?! We had the steak tacos and carnitas. Each taco order comes with two, hearty tacos. I recommend sharing a few different orders since each entree is unique. My favorite was the steak with a blue corn tortilla. I'm still dreaming of it back in Texas! The servers mimicked the slightly awkward upsell that a lot of restaurants did, but maybe it's an England thing. It wasn't too bothersome, but noteworthy. Definitely check this out if you're a local who's somehow skipped over this joint, or from a border state like me and missed a little bit of home. It's a 5-star experience. read more

My friends and I had brunch here a couple weeks back, and I was very impressed! I had the chilaquiles with hanger steak. It was really tasty; perfectly seasoned and spiced. The portion was generous too, so come hungry. I wasn't a fan of the horchata iced coffee. I was really looking forward to this, but I felt like the concept was better than the execution. My friends got the tacos, which all looked delicious, so next time I'll probably get the tacos. The service was also good. Servers were friendly and attentive. We came here mid-day on a Sunday, and it was busy but not full. After we paid the bill we sat at the table and chatted well beyond what was probably a socially acceptable amount of time, but the staff were really lovely and didn't try to force us out. Oh what a night You know, we left, we were completely stuffed. Of Corazon, we can't get enough What a meal, what a delight! Oh I... had a funny feeling when we picked out this spot. And I... as I recall, that salsa so hot.... We had a GREAT time at Corazon - while we were in London visiting my sister, had a party of 6 and wanted something fun for my father's birthday. The portions of tacos were decent, and the portions of the chips/salsa were far too small. The beers were tasty, and the service was outstanding. We also brought our own cake in for my father's birthday, and they went in the back and put candles in it and everything - above and beyond. I would say maybe more 4.5 but that d*mn pumpkin seed dip at the beginning kind of had my head spinning. It seemed like the kind of place that might be a true 'tacqueria' which it sort of is but its a lot more expensive than that. Ok no problem - but is it good? More realistically, this review should be 4.5 stars but I would say that's partially due to what you get for the cost. We had a starter, three sets of tacos and a side order of the corn - it was all fantastic but close to £50 for lunch. Thankfully that was on the company bill... Highly recommend it though - the service was better than anticipated and they are doing very interesting things with the food. We went for breakfast to the corazon and we loved it! It's authentic mexican food and a great choice. The menu has a wide variety of "real" mexican dishes. We had chilaquiles and huevos rancheros as well as some tacos. It's high quality food with great flavours. The only thing we were missing was some homemade salsas to add. The drinks we had were delicious (horchata and horchata with coffee). We highly recommend this restaurant and definitely will return when we are back in London! read more

Let's start with the most important part: the food. To be honest, I liked it. Really liked it! The tacos were especially good. The food simply screamed high quality and chic flavours. The taste was quite amazing. However, I need to say that considering the price portions were just too small. We were a group of two and we took 3 different plates to share and were still hungry as we left. At a total of 22£ per person it's a somewhat absurd to get that little amount of food. Yes, I am aware that tapas are not the normal sized dishes but there are many places where (Spain especially) tapas are a lot cheaper and taste the same. This is the main reason why I took off one star. The wine was good but then again I've had better. The atmosphere is great! A stylish mix between traditional and modern. You can eat at the bar or on a table. Although, I would recommend making a reservation as there are not many tables. The service is astonishing. Our waiter was great, very nice while remaining professional and was able to give us suggestions on what to order. The hostess at the front of the restaurant was also very nice and got us a table even though we didn't have a reservation. The food didn't take long but was definitely freshly made. Everything just went smooth and effortless. All in all, I can only recommend this place to anyone and everyone who is looking for a nice place to enjoy some tapas. Stopped in for a quick meal after shopping- staff was very accommodating on timing. Place is small and kind of loud because tables are closely placed by one another. This was one of the most interesting restaurant experiences I have had in recent memory. In short, the food service is lightning quick for a nice dining establishment. We arrived and were seated in one of the tables in the back, and took about 5 minutes to mull over our order, after which all the food arrived all at once within another 5 minutes. This includes guacamole and chips, 3 types of tacos, and the corn side dish. It was all very overwhelming and, because the tacos and the corn were both hot, we tried to not dally. Our meal was over in less than thirty minutes. But, the food was great and the service also very commendable.
