Late night stroll and spotted this restaurant. Glad I stopped in and was very pleased with my order.

Burrito filled with roasted vegetables. tortillas, guacamole and salad on the side
Dick B.

I ordered a burrito filled with roasted vegetables. There were tortillas, guacamole and a spicy salad on the side. I think it was all quite good, but not the best Mexican food I ate so far. The burrito could have been a bit softer and more spiced. It was a lunch offer, so I think the price was appropriate. The local is very cute decorated and the waitress was very polite and helpful, giving us advice about the menu and the lunch offers.

Great fish tacos

I was heading out to a particular food joint when this place caught my eye and something made me cross the street to look up their menu (it was cold and raining and I wanted to get indoors...that also played a role). I liked the menu, went in, ordered the fish tacos and a margarita and wasn't disappointed. Both were prepared brilliantly.

We got 3 foods, guacamole, tacos, and quesadillas. Overall taste are not too bad, one thing I have to say is guacamole was short of salt, I guessed staff forgot put it in. Quesadilla, called Tinga, was too hot so we had to blend with guacamole.

Churros!

We had the guacamole, chicken tacos, and chicken quesadilla - everything was delicious. Been living in the area for a year and just walked in randomly today... so much time lost. Coming back again for sure!

It's closed Yelp!! Has been for some time, apparently. You should really update this listing. We walked for a mile to find out it IS closed.

Yummy tacos, quick service. The salsa was extremely spicy, but the guacamole was great. Great lunch spot.

We always knew London has an amazing Indian food scene and had to visit Dishoom at Kensington to…read moresee for ourselves! We got the following: - Dishoom Margarita - Baba's Sesame Espresso Martini - Dishoom House Chaat: this was an explosion of flavour! Had the sweetness of the pomegranate but also sour from the yogurt and spicy! Definitely recommend this one as a starter. 9/10 - Chicken Ruby: Dishoom's take on traditional butter chicken. Very deep flavour on this and less spicy than the other items we ordered, if you are sensitive to spice you will like this one. 8/10 - Garlic Naan: our choice of vehicle for the chicken ruby! 8/10 - Nalli Nihari Biryani: This was the star of the show and is the chef's Kensington special - only at this location! It is a lamb biryani served in a puff pastry. The waiter (kudos to Rosario) can cut it open for you and is served with sauce, onion, and yogurt on the side. Serves 2, so make sure you come hungry! 9/10 - Dishoom Chocolate Pudding: This is served with a Kashmiri chili ice cream. Super delicious and very unique. I might entertain a chili oil ice cream in the future because of this. 7/10 This was our first night in London and we were not disappointed! Worth the hype!

Dishoom pays homage to the food of Bombay, and I was thrilled that they serve such a large and extensive breakfast menu! The restaurant is huge and beautiful - with lots of art deco touches! The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant just had great vibes - even the smell of the place (incense mixing with their delicious food) was great. I had their Kejriwal (two fried eggs on chilli cheese toast - "a modern favourite of the Willingdon Club in Tardeo, reputedly named for the member who kept asking for the dish, since he was not allowed eggs at home"), which was delicious. My husband had their bacon & egg naan roll with a side of masala beans, which he loved (he's even been trying to recreate the beans at home since we got back from London). With a large menu of other options and tons of beverage options (from alcoholic brunch options to chai to iced coffee), they have everything you could want for a great breakfast. We had a great breakfast at this Kensington location of Dishoom. I'd happily return to one of their other locations and have any meal - breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Unfortunately, that's the best bit of this breathtakingly adequate restaurant. We visited on a Sunday- the only other clientele were families - we were unsure why until the food arrived. Our servers were lovely, fast and attentive. In fact, the food came out suspiciously quickly! Perhaps because it was quiet. But highly commended on the staff. The food though - oh, the food :( . Bland, bland, bland. Guacamole with no flavour, which is quite the achievement. Fish tacos with fried battered fish pieces from the freezer, "burritos" that are actually enchiladas because they're covered in sauce (and still bland). Soft, bland corn chips - It's all fresh - but Tex Mex should be bursting with flavour. I assume this was why it was popular with kids. So perhaps the drinks are great. Maybe it's an off day. But given its apparently rebranded recently and the less than glowing previous reviews, I'd assume not. Such a shame as parts of it are killer - nice staff, great decor - but the food is sub-TGI Fridays. So no mas for us, I'm afraid. The Taco Bell across the street tastes the same and is half the price.

It's not authentic Mexican food (I've been to Mexico and live in the US, I know Mexican!) Don't bother in coming here, there are plenty of good restaurants in the area.
