This is located in Canary Wharf area, nice place. It's on the second floor of a building overlooking a green, grassy area with colorful benches. The staff was very attentive and welcomed us as first timers to their restaurant. I got the chicken tinga burrito, it left my mouth tingling and tasted alright. The chips it came with were nothing special. Personally, I would have preferred a chipotle burrito and chips to this. Burrito and chips were about £9. I also got hot chocolate which satisfied my sweet tooth but it had little bits in it that felt weird on the tongue. My friend enjoyed the chicken club but said the cornbread was dry. They had a survey at the end on an iPad which you could give thumbs up or down to each item you ordered, this was unique and fun.

As a whole, an extremely positive experience. I will say, we had a little trouble finding the restaurant. But that's just because we are dumb, the restaurant has a very large sign. View was limited, but the inside of the restaurant is very attractive. We started off with the margaritas. And we finished off with the margaritas, too, if you know what I mean -lol. Margs were great, although, they never gave us salt on the rims, which is curious. Service was even better, however we might have been judged just for the sheer quantity of margaritas we consumed, which was 8. The restaurant serves tapas style small plates to share. Whether you order a taco, quesadilla, or a taquito, we literally loved every dish. The bean and sweet potato taquito was our favorite. Only disappointment was the churros, which lacked much sugar on the outside. The caramel dipping sauce was quite good, though. Now you know why I liked Wahaca!

We visited here on Friday night - it was a pre-concert meal and we decided to avoid the crowds at the O2 and head to Canary Wharf instead! I started with an Hibiscus - I'm not a huge fan of tequila but when paired with cranberry juice it goes down a treat! Just yummy. Wahaca's is always a good, go-to staple when you need fast and reliable food! I ordered the grilled British steak tacos, the Smoky chipotle chicken quesadillas and Frijoles. The food literally came within minutes and I mean minutes! The steak was hot, cooked well - a little over done for my liking but for tacos it worked well! The quesadillas were a little bland but I ate them all the same. The stand outs for me were the beans and Chris' sweet potatoes chips - they were delicious! soft but crispy and seasoned well. Sure wahaca's isn't the best Mexican food you'll find in London but it's easy, reasonable priced - £44 for 2 with 4 drinks, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We actually payed using flypay which made it even quicker to get in and out and off to the concert.

    Not much choice really...

It's a no-surprise all-round 3 stars isn't it. It's your standard chain - nothing is ever gonna be awful, nothing is ever gonna be outstanding, but you always know what you're gonna get. Can't say better than that!!! Stand out dish was the crab and avocado tostada. That was deee-lish. Stand out bad dish was the chicken quesadilla - dry and very tasteless. No. Staff were lovely though, and I like the style of the menu where you can keep it there and just keep ordering as you eat. Grand!

In the Canary Wharf/Docklands area there isn't a whole lot of choice for food outside your typical chain options. We ended up here for some food kind of by default - it seemed like the best option from the few choices we had. Wahaca reminds me a lot of Topolabomba in Glasgow (Wahaca came first, just to make that clear). It's casual, open-area dining with table service and this location in particular was rammed with business folk who'd just knocked off work (or were still working on their laptops at their tables). The menu is your placemat and there's a pretty massive range so you should be able to find something that you like. We got guacamole and frijoles to share between the table - both of these were super tasty but as my workmate mentioned, the guac didn't look super fresh and had turned a little grey in colour. I ordered: chicken taquitos, salmon sashimi tostadas and crab & avocado toastadas. This was the perfect amount of food for a late night dinner and with most things coming in at around £5, pretty damn good value too (esp for London). I can't decide which I liked the most as they were all pretty damn delicious - I would say the chicken taquito needed some seasoning as it was perhaps a tad bland but otherwise I really liked the food. I also tried a passion fruit margarita which was way too sweet but once I watered it down it was fine. We had churros to finish - these are a small portion of 3 churros and the sauce is super rich. I could have done without these as then I'd eaten way too much food. My workmate paid for the meal on the app which is a kind of cool idea - although, you need to know your table number and we couldn't find this anywhere so had to ask a waitress. Service was excellent and friendly and all up, I was pretty impressed with this place for a late-night dinner.

The Wahaca empire is growing...a very welcome addition to the wharf. This particular site seems quite vast, perhaps because the space is quite open - all the more space, hurrah! As they don't take bookings, this probably isn't a bad thing at all. Order the huitlacoche quesadillas, the pork pibil and the fuerza salad. Try to convince your fellow diners that the black bean and chicken soup is 'yes, nice, good..' rather than revealing that it's amazing so you don't have to share it with them. I've become a tequila convert now and it's all Wahaca's fault - what they have on offer is a far cry from the student experiences that most of us associate with that particular beverage. Try the aged ones at the end of your meal. Leave room for churros. We didn't, and now we have to go back. Ack, what a chore...

Guacamole & chips and a classic margarita!

Having lived in Southern California for many years, I know what Mexican food is. I know they are a 'boutique' Mexican restaurant, but they missed it. The chips are commercial, made in a factory and not meant to be fresh. If you want salsa with your chips, it costs more, same if you wish to add guacamole, that is to say you have to order that order, meaning one order chips and salsa and a second order of chips and guacamole. The guacamole was good. The Black Bean and cheese quesadilla was bland, dry and comes without any crema or salsa. I did not finish. My server never came back around so I could not get some mild chilli sauce. I guess I'll wait until I go to the states to get Mexican food.

I ordered The All…read moreAmerican (16.75 GBP), which was a typical combo of pancakes, bacon, homestyle potatoes, a sausage, and two fried eggs. It was rather plain/ordinary but certainly not bad. I have to say, the pancakes were a bit on the dry side though. Also, the eggs were sunny side up but didn't actually seem fried at all, as they were super soft without any crispiness. In addition, they didn't even add the slightest amount of seasoning on there - at least a few pepper flakes would have been nice (although there was pepper on the table, but still). The homestyle fries were well-cooked with a good crispiness though. The restaurant has a lower level with some seating as well as a larger upper level. It has a sort of old-timey kind of vibe, with wood panels along the walls and ceiling and a little performance stage in the back. It is conveniently located right next to the Canary Wharf tube station. My waitress was average friendliness and was only moderately attentive, as she never checked up on me during my meal. She also waited until I actually got my food to bring me my water. Overall, The Breakfast Club is a solid option for breakfast/brunch in Canary Wharf with pretty much any of the classics that you could want.

I just kept finding the wrong one, but TBC made it worth the wait. For those seeking "a little more conversation", stop at the bar for the friendly experience you'd expect. Today I headed upstairs to the VIP Section. Unlike my wife who never saw a pancake she wanted to go home with, I like a menu with plenty of pancake choices. And bonus points if not too many are "exotic" such as cake disguised as compote-smothered confectioners-sugar-laced trendy-named items. Just get me some sort of flapjack with or without fruit. Bonus points if you have short and tall (long?) stacks. And double-bonus if you print "flapjack" on the menu. Enough about the pancakes (my wife is saying). She doesn't even like breakfast so don't listen to her (she'd skip if I weren't always dragging her out somewhere for it). Her loss. But just one more pancake point: I got the blueberry short stack. It wasn't epic but it was a solid +6-7. That works, given my earlier frou-frou comments. I couldn't tell and maybe the maple syrup was imported from Canada (eh), but we are spoilt with our Vermont supply. So no points gained/lost there. I didn't get any baked beans (yes because this was breakfast), but my bacon was tasty as were my two Americanos (aka coffees). If I had for some reason wanted pre-noon beans...I'm sure they would have been lovely, along with all the other varied menu choices I didn't have room to sample. Service was fast and efficient, and they endured my lingering into late-morning. By the time I left it had stopped raining. Will wonders never cease.

Overall, the food and drink were just not good. We ordered a plate of sharing nachos and the vegetarian jambalaya, and were completely underwhelmed by each dish. The portion of nachos is indeed meant to be shared, but unfortunately was almost all chips (which had a weird Dorito-like powder dusted on them, unlike the complimentary chips we received when we sat down. Plain chips would have been much more palatable.) and only the tiniest smattering of cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, chili, and sour cream. Good nachos require balanced proportions.. and these were very unbalanced. The jambalaya was okay, definitely edible but nothing particularly appealing about it. The mojito we ordered was mostly just crushed ice - like a mound of it heaping out of the glass. If I wanted a sno-cone, I would have ordered one. Very weak drink, made annoying by the huge mound of ice. The interior of the restaurant is very cute, and the bathroom (the ladies' room, anyway) was bright, colorful and clean. But because I become a repeat customer based more on the food than the atmosphere, I won't be coming back.

Situated before the entrance of the O2, next to cafe rouge, is this Mexican/Cuban restaurant. Now, I've had plenty of South American food as I have South American relatives. What I know and what is served here is nowhere close. There is a wait, luckily we had only a five minutes wait as people seemed to prefer other restaurants nearby. What if it was busier than it was? I love it when food comes in no time but here, I wanted to send the food back. We ordered the 'Sweet chilli jam burger' and as per every advertisement, I expect the food to come out looking like the picture. This one somehow did but I cannot comprehend why the jam looked like gelatine, the bread too soft that is crumbles as one takes a bite and the chips slightly cold and not crispy enough. To top it all, the drinks came within 10 minutes as the food came within 5 minutes of ordering and the drinks (cocktails which are meant to contain alcohol), tasted of juice. I am not an alcoholic and don't like too much vodka or rum in my drink but I can definitely tell when there is too little! I didn't pay £8 for that... I wanted to rate this place due to the service. The staff were friendly and attentive-I guess that really matters? Sometimes a quick fix becomes a quick hole to the pocket. Not my cup of tea, or shall I say 'tasteless alcohol'. Taco Bell in the USA might be a better choice...
