Scallop and prawn ceviche

I'm debating between 3 and 4 stars but the margaritas bumped this review up to 4 stars. Those margaritas man, I was tipsy after one! Ok whatever that's not saying much but still! They're so strong and so good and so dangerously delicious! The food wasn't bad at all, but I was a little underwhelmed by the tacos. We shared the MSC fish tacos and my husband really loved them but I thought there was too much sauce- I couldn't taste much else! I really enjoyed the ceviche and crab tostadas- very nice flavour with both, and very affordable. We'll be back to give the tacos another go. :)

I would not consider this authentic Mexican food, however if is good if you're craving a spin on it. The mayo sauce in the chicken quesadilla was delicious! I also tried the hibiscus agua fresca which was refreshing. The horchata on the other hand had a more watery than milky taste as it should. Wouldn't get that again. Overall good food and great atmosphere.

I've dined in Wahaca at several different locations and since this one was the last one I visited, here is my review. The good: Wahaca food deserves an overall 3.5-4 star rating. The food tastes fresh and is close in quality (but not quantity and value for money) to a comparable US based Mexican restaurant chain. The bad: They are stingy on items they shouldn't be stingy with. For example, you have to pay (a lot) for a tiny portion of chips and salsa. That is BS and simply unacceptable! Similarly, a small portion of chips and guac (a regular person needs at least 2-3 of these) is severely overpriced. Here are the details: Guac - good. For the price and quantity it should be a lot better. In my opinion, it needs more cilantro, more lime and definitely some chopped jalapeño peppers for an additional kick. Salsa (pico de gallo) - good acidity, but needs both more jalapeños and more cilantro. Steak tacos - good, would have preferred them medium rare for an additional juicyness. Pork tacos - very good. Good spicy kick. Sonora salad w/Chicken - good, also needs more dressing, an additional kick. Chicken was properly seasoned but since it is cut in small pieces, it was slightly overcooked and on the dryer side. The tortilla shell that the salad came in (in the US we'd call it tostada) was overcrysped and way too greasy. Fish tacos - another solid dish, but needs adjustments to be perfect. For example, the fish needs less batter and less time in the fryer so it can retain all of the juicyness. Also one big filet is always better than smaller chunks. Drinks - margaritas and mojitos. Too sweet and stingy on actual booze.

We Had: Pork Pibil (really deep tasting) Chicken Tinga (fresh and spicy) Cactus & corn (unusual but in a nice way) Black bean (rich and filling) fish tacos (breaded fish but nice nonetheless) It's a while since I visited Wahaca and this was the first time I thought we had got the food right. Generally it's easy to under order given the smallness of the tacos and to leave wanting more (or a Macdonalds). This time it was just right. The food was great and we had a margarita to start. They don't do frozen ones which is a shame. They were pretty good and we then had Modello's. This branch is very large and service was especially friendly. Everything we could have hoped for.

Chips and salsa - they look much better than they actually taste
Becky T.

Good service, generally great food, and convenient location. For the food, the Super-Charged salad was great (minus the carrots), and very flavorful, and my husband enjoyed the spicy pork Pibil tacos. The only thing we did not like was the chips and salsa, since the chips were horrible. (They tasted like slightly stale store bought chips.) The toilets downstairs are also very clean, albeit a little interesting decor.

I have tried Wahaca at another location near embankment and i would say it was WAY better than this outlet. The other location had some seriously fresh guacamole!! The best i've possibly ever had in my life! Other than that, we ordered an assortment of dishes here such as quesedilla and tacos etc and everything was ok. It was nothing memorable. Still, it has a very fun and hip design space which is fun to dine in and take pictures.

Food was super tasty. I had the veggie burrito which was packed with black beans and fresh crunchy veg, lots of flavour! The smoked chipotle cauliflower on the side was amazing. Very reasonable prices too

Chicken Pipian & a Passion fruit margarita

This place has very good tacos. I ordered the Chicken Pipian tacos, and they were good. They come in threes, and they have a hint of pumpkin flavor from the pumpkin seeds. I also ordered a Passion Fruit Margarita with was good as well, but I would try something else next time this is a great place to get some food while you are visiting Oxford street. My waitress's name was Paula. She was friendly & helpful, giving good recommendations. Overall, I would definitely come back here.

Tasty but incredibly small portions give that it advertises as "BIGGER FOOD". It was hardly a starter.

I was the first to arrive and we greeted immediately upon walking I. The front doors and escorted to the lift and sent upstairs to Madera. I was greeted once off the lift and offered to wait at the bar while they finished preparing the table. I tend to arrive early and I was early. I ordered a drink from their nice selection of tequila and before my drink was ready the table was ready. They sat me at the table and brought my drink to me. We had a table along the window and were able to watch sunset while we celebrated my friend. I feel like we ordered most of the menu to share amongst the table. Our server was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great suggestions for the table. I'm pretty sure we ordered almost the entire menu. Food quality was fantastic. The vibe, service, and food quality really made for a wonderful celebration. Make a reservation and add this to your itinerary if visiting London and if you are a local give it a try.

Ceviche was meh but the chips / salsa / guacamole were excellent. Had some weird "rocks" entrees where they bring your meal on a hot rock... everyone who got one (both the shrimp and the chicken) was disappointed and also seemed hard to eat. Good sides for the pulpo... potatoes and street corn. Service was a bit random... odd timings and couldn't figure out how to out things down on the table / which plates to clear, etc. strange.

Good tacos with a nice atmosphere and decent margaritas…read more Came here with friends from work for a fast bite near our Brock-street office. We shared a big plate of taco ingredients and tortillas. It was all very good and the good news is that with the variety there was something everyone liked. The space was chill and upscale while also feeling trendy. The drinks were also nice, mostly margaritas. In the end, nothing really stood out enough for me to remember or come back for if I wasn't in the area, but it would probably make my easy list of places that won't disappoint near the office.

Unfortunately, Mestizo charges per person and the minimum and maximum is two for this item So I couldn't order for one without paying forty dollars , and I'd be damned to pay that much. Having this rule is ridiculous. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant forcing you to order something that can easily be portioned to one. I ordered a marinated chicken with rice and beans. The beans were out of this world. Such a unique flavor I definitely was not accustomed to in the states. The rice was unfortunately bland. The chicken was marinated in this red sauce and was tasty for the most part. However , when I made my way to the center it became dry and had a weird taste. If you're gonna order this dish, proceed with caution. The dessert really outshined and redeemed my visit somewhat. I ordered the tres leches cake. This dessert is basically like a Mexican version of sticky toffee pudding. There are many overlapping factors. One key difference is tres leches uses a milk and cinnamon base , so it kind of tastes like a horchata cake.

After attempting a second visit to Dishoom and we…read morewere met with an hour+ wait, we walked back down the road and popped into Breddos because we saw tacos and ceviche advertised. WHAAAAAATTT?!?!?!? The spot is pretty small and intimate with smooth music playing for you to snap your fingers to while chatting all night long. They were pretty busy so they offered us a seat at the bar where Simon, the bartender, greeted us warmly. We perused the menu with big eyes and salivating mouths. We started off with drinks - I got a pink drink that was similar to a jalepeno margarita but better - looks like pepto bismol but was SO good, friend got agua refresca which also had a hint of spice - SO GOOD. Now, let's get to the food! First round we ordered chips & guacamole, pork belly chicharron and the tuna sashimi tostadas - absolutely divine. The pork belly was perfection, crispy outside and soft inside and the tuna was amazingly soft! Next round was 'Nduja esquites (fried corn) and the pumpkin & cauliflower barbacoa - meals like this make me realize I truly could be a vegetarian. The plating of the food was absolutely beautiful and we loved watching the head chef Raul and his sous chefs work. He is so serious about his craft - focused, determined and the food is served with bravado and love. Next time over the pond, I definitely plan to pop in here again! Who knew London was such a foodie's paradise?

Second was the fish taco. Lightly battered with a stunning mayo and lovely pickled cabbage to balance the flavours. The best of the lot (and it was a tough choice) was the pigs head quesadilla. The meat was on top rather than inside which threw me to begin with, but once I got stuck in I didn't care. My god. The actual quesadilla itself was UNBELIEVABLE. Cheesy, soft in the middle with a crispy edge, just delicious. And the pork and pickled cabbage combo on top was out of this world. I could have eaten 3 quite easily. My mezcal negroni was lush. Not discernibly different from a normal, well made negroni (a good thing) and I enjoyed it a lot. Service was excellent and friendly and dishes came out when ready. Place itself was very buzzy and cool, great atmosphere. Quality lunch at a quality restaurant.
