Fried chicken tacos, quesadilla, refried beans, fish tacos.
    Kelsey B.

Whenever I miss Mexican food (which let's be real is every day but we live in London so whatcha gonna do), Wahaca is a small reminder of Mexican flavour and culture. There's a lot of dia de los muertos decor, bright colour, and of course plenty of tequila and mezcal to go around. There are Wahaca locations all over the city and the UK in general, so be sure to look up whichever one is nearest you instead of venturing out too far. This last visit, we ordered the guac to start. It's got a bit too much lime and not enough spice, but still decent. We then ordered 3 small plates each - buttermilk chicken tacos, grilled chicken quesadillas, and cod tacos. We also selected croquetas and frijoles for our sides. I really enjoyed the spicy chicken tacos, which allowed you to add on heat with a relish. The quesadillas were a bit too filling and didn't have much Mexican spice added. Loved the frijoles! I'd advise ordering something different during each visit to a Wahaca, as the menu is extensive. Great for groups, dates, and kids during the day.

Tanya and I just got off the London Eye and started to look for someplace to dine. I had someplace in mind, but the GPS kept taking up somewhere else, so we just walked along the Thames to see if something caught our eye. After walking and walking and about to give up we stumbled upon Wahaca. What a great find this turned out to be. We ordered the salsa and one of each of there small plates. I knew we struck gold when I tasted their salsa. Flavor town just pulled up and smacked us in the mouth. And then the small plates arrived and we were in culinary heaven. My mouth is still drooling thinking about their food. They say it's street food, but it's food on Wall street. This is a foodie's paradise. Go asap. Steak burrito with Mexican street corn
    Samantha J.

Food was decent, the burrito was filling but would've been better with a little more flavor. Mexican street corn was good, but again didn't really have a lot of flavor. Service was great at first, after a while we struggled to get the attention of our server (or even see him) when we needed something. Ordered the horchata and was excited but underwhelmed, tasted watered down and way too much ice in the glass.

Wahaca is one of my favourite restaurant chains, both for their delicious food and fun atmosphere. The restaurant itself is very colourful and modern, which I think helps improve your mood and get you excited for the cocktails and the food. You can choose between smaller dishes to share or regular mains for each person, so it's great for groups and people who would like to try out a few things, and everyone else of course. Another thing I greatly enjoy is that the food itself is tasty with great flavours but the mild food is actually mild. I am not a fun of very hot foods and this is exactly the level I like. However, my friends who love hot food were also happy with the level of spicy that the spicy dishes were at. So no matter what your tolerance is, you will find something for you. I'd recommend checking one of their restaurants out and ideally going later so you can then stay for more drinks. Dinner before a night out would be ideal!

Wahaca is my favourite chain of sit-down Mexican restaurant in London. Sure, there are pricier options with more authentic flavours like Lupita (http://www.yelp.com/biz/lupita-london-4#hrid:Iwu7jGqTme1LOQC00xAN-Q) and faster more affordable choices like Tortilla (http://www.yelp.com/biz/tortilla-london#hrid:GaHT8f7pUqE2n1H1BS2Eog). But I think Wahaca offers delicious Mexican food at a mid-range price point.*** I came here with two friends sometime during the opening week. The restaurant was still short staffed, and the staff was obviously still getting used the new setting. My friends and I were seated immediately, but we sat at our table for a looong time before the waitress (yes, the one waitress) attended out table. She was out of breath, rattling off the specials at the speed of light, sweaty, and clearly exhausted. Pobrecita! Other than the slowness in service, the food was delicious. We ordered the chips and guacamole, fish and chicken tostadas, and sweet potatoes on the side. The kitchen graciously re-fired a dish for me that conflicted with my food allergies. The restaurant's bright interior creates a delightful atmosphere for a fun meal. One of my favourite features is the sink at the entrance that ensure that you don't get a mouthful of germs with your quesadillas! ***NB: I mean, it's still over-priced. Americans like myself will always think that Mexican food is over-priced because we can get authentic Latino food for cheap in States. But, all things considered, Wahaca is affordable for London Zone 1.

They print a link to their Yelp page on the receipt asking for reviews yet I'm only the fourth? Well here goes... This was a damn good Mexican make no mistake, we were seated quickly despite being told we were looking at a 40 minute wait, it was probably only actually 10. Tuesday night but the place was packed, usually a good sign. Our waitress was efficient and explained the menu well, we ordered a bunch of dishes. My bestie is a veggie and she was very impressed with the selection of vegetarian dishes available. The food arrives as and when it's ready, it's not ordered into starters and mains and your whole party probably won't get your food simultaneously. Just relax and take it as it comes. Everything we ordered was delicious. Two of us racked up a bill of around £45 and it was worth every penny.

    Tequila sampler
    Ian L.

What a widespread chain. Packed on Saturday nights, Mexican food for cheap. Protip: the tequila sampler is good even for discerning taste buds. Although the blanco is far too harsh (i much prefer the Anejo, Reposado, and Sangrita in that order) you can perhaps pass it off to a less discerning friend who just wants to TAKE A SHOTT!!! Protip 2: free foozball table, play a few rounds after the tequila sampler. Don't bother with the fish main for £9, was underwhelming. Street food especially tacos is done well; nice take using British ingredients, but obviously not as good as Chicago Mexican food. Pretty darn close though.

Squid wasn't lightly fried and tasted oily and rubbery.

They do take RSVP's but I walked in and got seated immediately at 630 pm. Overall I thought the Wahaca for one was good. Just the right amount of food. The Paloma was below average. But I will come back. The chicken taco had just the right spice and the beef gringo taco was the perfect counter balance. Its worth a meal if you haven't tried it. Not a true Texźmex but close.

It was either a 3 or 4, but after, it was a toss up between 4 and 5 So here goes, I've been here before with ex-girlfriend about four or five years ago and really enjoyed myself. I like the food. It was reasonably priced. The atmosphere was quite nice and it was a friendly, buzzing kind of place where you don't get rushed. So after a crap start if the week, but a good finish on the Friday I decided to treat myself, especially after seeing the 'Wahacha for One' advertised outside. Second impression's, very good staff, nice atmosphere, shown to a seat of my choice, as I was eating on my own, waitress very helpful and friendly all good so far... The Meal - OK so I have a little, but only a little gripe about it, it was on the small side, 3 taco's would have been better, however the food was very tasty and well presented. The Taco's ( beef, and pork) were very tasty, bit of a gripe about the Nachos and dips, there wasn't much of either dip but were both tasty but the nachos were a bit meh, overly flat and a bit too crispy, however the rest of the meal, a Taquito, was tasty. Ordered a beer which made a good a accompaniment. After the Wahacha for One the waitress came over to see if I wanted anything else and whilst chatting with her I said half jokingly, "I'm just in the middle of rating your restaurant" so....she asked me what I thought, especially about the size of the WFO (Wahacha for One) and was also kind enough to offer me a desert on the house, and also kind enough, when I asked to make a recommendation, to pick a desert that was the best part of the meal, dunno what it was called but it was like the Mexican version of Tiramisu, but much better, more substance , better texture and more subtle flavours to it. Also, took the opportunity to chat with the manager to congratulate her on her staff who were really nice, friendly, helpful , and attentive, and then I finished off with a very nice latte. Overall, excluding the size of the meal, it was a good experience, it has a nice atmosphere, very nice staff and I will be coming back. Only other gripe was that Wahacha is cash only. This is something that IMHO is not really made super obvious. Now I know everyone, even me, are mad about the convenience of Apple Pay etc, but it's not a great idea for society as whole to depend on contactless payment only because it allow the state almost limitless powers to snoop. and they will, on your spending habits, it will be a bit like the Chinese Social Credit System, but in time, by piecemeal, the state will do this, so not majorly keen for cashless premises' but that's about it for the moans so due to the excellent service from the door guy to the waitress and the manager, I would have to rate |Wahacha a 4.6 stars which I will (charitably) round up to 5* but a bit more (extra Taco, nicer nachos, and bigger dips) with the Wahacha for One would be a great idea to make it a more filling, better value meal, but it was a very enjoyable meal and evening.

I quickly became a regular as frankly, there's nothing bad on the menu but some things are just really exceptional. For one, the chicken tinga is the best I've had - period. It's slow cooked with slices of chorizo and is so flavourful it's unbelievable. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water. The pulled pork is also really good and is right up there with my favourites anywhere - you can tell that they haven't just dumped the same spice mix on both - and although they don't advertise it, they're more than happy to give you a half and half if you want both. But their burritos are more than just that - they make their own guacamole and it's just brilliant, and something I don't normally praise at a Mexican place - the salad accompaniments are also really good. The cabbage slaw is a particular favourite and goes really well with the pork. Their hot sauces are also made in house and the chipotle one is just awesome. This area has an over abundance of Mexican burrito places now with three within a few minutes walk - but the fact that you will have to queue for at least five minutes to get served at Santana Grill is a testiment of the quality that they produce. If you're like me and don't want to try to eat a messy burrito at your desk then you can get it in a box too - and trust me, they don't skimp on the portions!! I've eaten at quite a few different Mexican places around London and I rate Santana Grill and Daddy Donkey as the two very best.

I am not exaggerating when I tell you it was DIVINE. The meat was so well seasoned and flavorful and it was literally falling off the bone. No, seriously, they bring it to your table, bone and all, and shred the meat for you. It's served with unlimited tortillas and some fixings for your tacos such as pickled red onions cilantro, etc. Caesar salad: A good solid caesar salad. Great smoky flavor from the grill. Guacamole: fresh and flavorful. Margaritas: Well balanced, not too sweet and enough alcohol to where you could taste it but it didn't make you grimace.
