Dinner here worked in a pinch, but I wouldn't go back. We ate during the Friday night rush, and it was busy. Understandably, service was slow. Overall, the food and drink were just not good. We ordered a plate of sharing nachos and the vegetarian jambalaya, and were completely underwhelmed by each dish. The portion of nachos is indeed meant to be shared, but unfortunately was almost all chips (which had a weird Dorito-like powder dusted on them, unlike the complimentary chips we received when we sat down. Plain chips would have been much more palatable.) and only the tiniest smattering of cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, chili, and sour cream. Good nachos require balanced proportions.. and these were very unbalanced. The jambalaya was okay, definitely edible but nothing particularly appealing about it. The mojito we ordered was mostly just crushed ice - like a mound of it heaping out of the glass. If I wanted a sno-cone, I would have ordered one. Very weak drink, made annoying by the huge mound of ice. The interior of the restaurant is very cute, and the bathroom (the ladies' room, anyway) was bright, colorful and clean. But because I become a repeat customer based more on the food than the atmosphere, I won't be coming back. read more

My cousin and I debated whether to give this place a rating of two stars or not rate it at all. I don't like giving low ratings as every business deserves a chance but this time, it wasn't just me. Situated before the entrance of the O2, next to cafe rouge, is this Mexican/Cuban restaurant. Now, I've had plenty of South American food as I have South American relatives. What I know and what is served here is nowhere close. There is a wait, luckily we had only a five minutes wait as people seemed to prefer other restaurants nearby. What if it was busier than it was? I love it when food comes in no time but here, I wanted to send the food back. We ordered the 'Sweet chilli jam burger' and as per every advertisement, I expect the food to come out looking like the picture. This one somehow did but I cannot comprehend why the jam looked like gelatine, the bread too soft that is crumbles as one takes a bite and the chips slightly cold and not crispy enough. To top it all, the drinks came within 10 minutes as the food came within 5 minutes of ordering and the drinks (cocktails which are meant to contain alcohol), tasted of juice. I am not an alcoholic and don't like too much vodka or rum in my drink but I can definitely tell when there is too little! I didn't pay £8 for that... I wanted to rate this place due to the service. The staff were friendly and attentive-I guess that really matters? Sometimes a quick fix becomes a quick hole to the pocket. Not my cup of tea, or shall I say 'tasteless alcohol'. My friends and I waited almost an hour for our food. We had to get up and chase down the servers serval times for an update. After 40 minutes, we were told our food would be out in 5 minutes and they tried to curb our hunger with complimentary french fries. We had seen multiple parties come and go in the time we waited for our food. Apparently, the wait was due to multiple large parties, but 1) we came in with that large crowd - we actually sat separate from them in hope we'd get served faster and 2) why does that take away from serving a table of 4???? This is supposed to be a MEXICAN restaurant, and the food tasted like a watered down curry inspired dish. I'm so disappointed, especially because I am visiting London and hoped to have a great meal and experience. Stopped in here for lunch on a week day. The place was pretty empty and we didn't have much time, so it worked out perfectly. The service was great and the two people who helped us were very friendly and attentive to bring us all the things we needed. While we browsed the menu, we munched on some popcorn that was provided to our table. A strange starter for a Mexican inspired place, but I was hungry so I didn't place too much judgement. My dining partner and I shared some guacamole and then I choose enchiladas and he had a burrito. We were happy with all three components of our meal. Everything was pretty good. Not awesome, not bad. I would head here if I was in the area, but wouldn't travel here from afar for the food. Overall good experience. read more

This is near the O2 arena and a convenient place to have dinner before a concert. However, the food was average and I wouldn't visit here again. The service was good at the start, but we found it hard to get anyone's attention at the end, when we were seeking to settle the bill. We had nachos as a starter. This was mostly dry nacho chips and hardly any topping. My wife had the BBQ Pork Enchiladas and I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Fajita. For sure, these were filling dishes but the pork and sauce was very sweet. I couldn't finish it all. We had a couple of drinks too. I walked in after a concert and was told "yes" when I asked if food was still being served. My friends and I were seated immediately. Our waiter pressured us to order quickly. Their drink menu is separated onto two different menus, and after we saw only one we were pressured to order that quickly, too. Food arrived quickly and was hearty but mediocre in quality. Our waiter had to be touched to give us attention and had an attitude with me when I asked for another drink, telling me the bar was "clearly" closed. Actually, it wasn't to me, because my job inside restaurants is being a customer, not working in the service industry. We also come from America where it's customary to tell customers it's the last chance to order another drink before the bar is closed. This helps customers and potentially drives up the bill which is good for the establishment and the server's tip. I would have liked another drink since my first one was not strong with rum and went down as easily as plain soda. We were rushed out as quickly as can be with no warmth or hospitality. Update the following day: I've also been ill with stomach discomfort three times in the past 18 hours, and my friend hasn't felt well either. This is the only cooked food we have eaten in the past day, so nothing else could be responsible. They probably didn't cook our food thoroughly...they rushed that as well, and made me sick. Beware of this place. I sincerely hope our other friend, who's currently on a long airplane flight, isn't also sick from what he ate. read more

The UK needs more Mexican and Cuban food, it's the one thing we're missing as a nation. Despite being a chain, Chiquitos offers great food which is quick, tasty and reasonable priced. Friendly service too. read more

In my trip to London I have been trying different restaurants! I'm here at the CHIQUITO RESTAURANT. I found the place quite cozy and well distributed and beautifully decorated. The food was decent. It needed more spice since I ordered the spicy chicken nachos, yet I enjoyed eating it. The reason for the low rate must be due to the alcoholic drinks. when you think of a Mexican restaurant you immediately think of a big hug of margarita those you see basically well in any Mexican restaurant. But this one. The margarita was blend and needed more of a kick. I had to add salt to the drink to give it some flavor. My brother had a passion fruit Mojito and it lacked of both passion and fruit. Alcohol was barely there and he couldn't taste the passion fruit. They did add a lot of lemons which made the drink more sour than sweet and refreshing. Used bookatable to do lunch. Vibrant outdoor settings easy access to the O2. They had a very resonable priced lunch menu for adults and children. The children were offer colouring stuff to do. So yes very family freindly plus ballons. While you wait for your starters you are given nachos and salsa dips, although the the wait is about 15-20 mins. Meals served fresh and hot. Good food, good portion sizes and very freindly staff. Inside resrurant clean, the wash facilities are up stairs. Overall recommended for it vibrant style of food choices, comforable setting pleasant atmosphere, during lunch time. read more

Very good place, I went there with friends on Sunday evening to have some beers, nice atmosphere, good music and good food, me and my friend ordered burger from the lunch menu call "Burrito" kind of tortilla filled with meat,red onion,red peppers, jalapenos and sauce, served with portion of chips. amazing delicious, and the service was really good!!! read more

I love this place. On walking in everything cries MEXICO!! Form the beer, food, and decor. I've been here lots and never walking away not feeling full after having a great mean.
