My Colombian girlfriend and I have been searching for local Colombian/Mexican/South American food in south east London. The menu has many delicious typical dishes such as Arepas, Empanadas, Buñuelos, Pandebonos, and much more. We had a long chat with the owner, a very kind and warm Colombian woman. Everything is made on the day and tastes very homemade and fresh. We are so happy to have discovered this place, it's right down the road from us. We really recommend the food, especially the empanada de carne y papa for just 1,50£ (beef and potatoes), and the arepas con queso y carne (beef and cheese). Would I recommend it? Definitely. The plantain, butternut squash, and mushroom tacos were all very unique, flavorful, and beautiful, and the sweet potato burrito was delicious and very filling. The seasoning was all on point, the right mix of savory, smoky, and spicy. The caramel pecan brownie was also very decadent and the perfect way to end the meal! The service felt a little off the night we visited only because there was a mix-up in who was supposed to be serving our table, but once our order was in the food came quickly and the bill was easy to pay. I also found it great that they have specific vegan and vegetarian menus, which makes ordering for people with these dietary requirements very straightforward. We dined on a weekend evening when Canary Wharf is much less busy, so although we had a reservation we probably didn't need one.

I have to say, the pancakes were a bit on the dry side though. Also, the eggs were sunny side up but didn't actually seem fried at all, as they were super soft without any crispiness. In addition, they didn't even add the slightest amount of seasoning on there - at least a few pepper flakes would have been nice (although there was pepper on the table, but still). The homestyle fries were well-cooked with a good crispiness though. The restaurant has a lower level with some seating as well as a larger upper level. It has a sort of old-timey kind of vibe, with wood panels along the walls and ceiling and a little performance stage in the back. It is conveniently located right next to the Canary Wharf tube station. My waitress was average friendliness and was only moderately attentive, as she never checked up on me during my meal. I didn't get any baked beans (yes because this was breakfast), but my bacon was tasty as were my two Americanos (aka coffees). If I had for some reason wanted pre-noon beans...I'm sure they would have been lovely, along with all the other varied menu choices I didn't have room to sample. Service was fast and efficient, and they endured my lingering into late-morning. By the time I left it had stopped raining. Will wonders never cease.
