I'm a California native who's been eating crappy Mexican food on the east coast for too long. I came to London not expecting to find much culture outside of bangers and mash, and this was the perfect taste of home. Their guacamole was fresh, the chicken was nicely seasoned, and their salsas were mouth-watering. Did I mention that I came 10 minutes before they closed, but they were still welcoming and their food was still perfectly fresh? I asked for the steak but they had put it away already, and while they kindly offered to bring it back out, I declined. The chicken was just fine as was everything else. Thanks Chilango for that quick bite of home (and for a reasonable price might I add)!

Mi Casa Burritos try to sweeten the deal by including guacamole in that, but it's more of a smear than a dollop. So my Mi Casa Burritos experience didn't get off to the best of starts. But then I took a bite. Not too bad. The ingredients were moist and plentiful, which was a good start. And by the end, I was feeling pretty full. I still think it's pricey, both as a burrito and as a lunch option in an area where there's masses of competition. Nevertheless, its arrival (along with Taquito's) in Victoria is hugely welcome in bringing Mexican food to the area. Here's hopin' they drop their prices/add cheaper options to the mix.

I don't think the burritos are up there with Chilango's or Tortilla and I think they may need to consider introducing some cheaper options (burritos start from £5.50) given the many tasty lunch alternatives available nearby (e.g. Tachbrook Street market) for noticeably less, but Taquito's is a very welcome addition nevertheless.
