I love burritos but I've not really found a burrito I truly love in the UK. I was travelling through Victoria and thought I'd give Mi Casa a try as a burrito seemed like it'd be easy enough to eat on the train. OMG I'm so glad I did. First off their rice didn't have coriander in it and neither did they guacamole! Coriander/cilantro (I'm allergic) is the bane of my existence so it was so exciting to be able to have both rice and guacamole on my burrito. They also offer you a squeeze of lime, which was my favourite part of burritos at my favourite burrito place in the USA. The chicken was well cooked and not bland or overly spicy. The salsa did have cilantro so I can't speak to that but everything else was perfect. I'm actually hoping I travel through Victoria again soon!

I had the Garlic Butter Sizzling Prawns, see picture. Shrimp, vegetables, and cheese. It wasn't bad at all. Everything was well cooked and taste as it should. The staff were friendly and attentive, the place felt nice and inviting. The one big drawback is the price. I found that for what it is the price of everything was very high. One star deducted for that. Would I recommend it? Sure? Give it a go

I'm from Southern California so I know Mexican food. There is not a large Mexican population in London to provide the kind of authentic menus like you will find in London Indian restaurants. But after days of pub food, Indian and Italian we decided to give it a try. This is a nicely decorated little restaurant with a nice attentive staff. Was the food different from what we were used to? Yes, but it was very tasty. My wife had chicken tacos served on a large platter with separate portions to build your own taco. They had Mexican rice but no refried or black beans or lettuce for the tacos. The tacos were hard shell. I had fajitas and they were very good but served without a side of rice. The portions were very large. If you are in Pimlico, close to Victoria station, give it a try

As a half Mexican who apparently gets home sick easily while vacationing from Southern California…read more(a few hours drive from Mexico), this place was a welcome sight. Fast, relatively friendly, and very reasonably priced. I decided to splurge and get a shredded beef quesadilla and my ever disciplined husband got a burrito and told them to hold the meat. You can't really mess up a bean and rice burrito (well I guess you could but I'd hate to find out who would do such a thing). My quesadilla was large enough for me to split into two meals and a snack! They were almost too generous with the meat. But let's talk about the meat and why just four stars are awarded from me. It is not my opinion traditionally spiced. We each pondered after a bite. Was it a hint of curry? Cinnamon? It wasn't horrible, but it just wasn't right. My hunger was satisfied. But I was still eager to treat myself to the many options of the real thing once I got home.

And it's okay. The ingredients in the burrito I had were fresh and fairly tasty, but overall it was a bit dry too - perhaps some Guacamole at 70 pence extra would have made a difference. I don't think the burritos are up there with Chilango's or Tortilla and I think they may need to consider introducing some cheaper options (burritos start from £5.50) given the many tasty lunch alternatives available nearby (e.g. Tachbrook Street market) for noticeably less, but Taquito's is a very welcome addition nevertheless. I'll be back to try some more of their wares and may update my review then.

I quickly became a regular as frankly, there's nothing bad on the menu but some things are just really exceptional. For one, the chicken tinga is the best I've had - period. It's slow cooked with slices of chorizo and is so flavourful it's unbelievable. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water. The pulled pork is also really good and is right up there with my favourites anywhere - you can tell that they haven't just dumped the same spice mix on both - and although they don't advertise it, they're more than happy to give you a half and half if you want both. But their burritos are more than just that - they make their own guacamole and it's just brilliant, and something I don't normally praise at a Mexican place - the salad accompaniments are also really good. The cabbage slaw is a particular favourite and goes really well with the pork. Their hot sauces are also made in house and the chipotle one is just awesome. This area has an over abundance of Mexican burrito places now with three within a few minutes walk - but the fact that you will have to queue for at least five minutes to get served at Santana Grill is a testiment of the quality that they produce. If you're like me and don't want to try to eat a messy burrito at your desk then you can get it in a box too - and trust me, they don't skimp on the portions!! I've eaten at quite a few different Mexican places around London and I rate Santana Grill and Daddy Donkey as the two very best.

Good tacos with a nice atmosphere and decent margaritas…read more Came here with friends from work for a fast bite near our Brock-street office. We shared a big plate of taco ingredients and tortillas. It was all very good and the good news is that with the variety there was something everyone liked. The space was chill and upscale while also feeling trendy. The drinks were also nice, mostly margaritas. In the end, nothing really stood out enough for me to remember or come back for if I wasn't in the area, but it would probably make my easy list of places that won't disappoint near the office.

Unfortunately, Mestizo charges per person and the minimum and maximum is two for this item So I couldn't order for one without paying forty dollars , and I'd be damned to pay that much. Having this rule is ridiculous. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant forcing you to order something that can easily be portioned to one. I ordered a marinated chicken with rice and beans. The beans were out of this world. Such a unique flavor I definitely was not accustomed to in the states. The rice was unfortunately bland. The chicken was marinated in this red sauce and was tasty for the most part. However , when I made my way to the center it became dry and had a weird taste. If you're gonna order this dish, proceed with caution. The dessert really outshined and redeemed my visit somewhat. I ordered the tres leches cake. This dessert is basically like a Mexican version of sticky toffee pudding. There are many overlapping factors. One key difference is tres leches uses a milk and cinnamon base , so it kind of tastes like a horchata cake.
