The food was really good with a large menu to select from (with an even longer cocktail menu) the atmosphere was relaxed & the staff were were friendly & upbeat. They gave us sombreros to wear whilst we were eating which was a nice addition to the meal (although they got slightly annoying towards the end of the meal when we kept butting heads) The beef was a bit too chewy in the fajitas & enchiladas but apart from that, food was good & the free tequila shot at the end of the meal went down a treat!

    Margaritas!! Mmm tasty

Awesome place! Fresh food good atmosphere. . We even put on Mexican hats! Very nice staff and margaritas andale weyyyy

An authentic Mexican experience in Notting Hill. The atmosphere is cantina. It's busy with professional staff. Mexican food is basic so how come other places in London just can't get it right? The service here is quick and the food is good. I recommend the grande nachos and the combo fajitas. It's worth saying that the food is pricey. £66 for 2 courses with drinks.

    Yummy chimichangas and margarita

Because the waiter acted so confused when my friend who was there before me wants a drink before I arrived. His movement was so slow i thought he's giving us attitude but I didn't want to raise it cus maybe that's how he operates. he stood there and wait for us to move the utensils away so he can pick up our plate is a bit weird but when he give us a long eye shut when we ask for new utensils, that's when I know he's really giving us sass. I know I sound mean but tbf I don't mind helping the wait staff out but if you just stand there and expect me to arrange the table, you would be a little surprised too, right? Tell me I'm not crazy. The food was alright. Tuna Tostada was almost £10 and it was so small you can barely taste it before you even finish the whole thing. Cochinita pibil (taco) - meat portion was relatively big but each dish only get two tacos so it barely fill me up. Steak taco - steaks are dry but the cheese on top added points to it Carnitas taco - alright. Can't go wrong really. Anyway, I'd really enjoy it if the staff wasn't rude because the outdoor seating with the sun always keeps me in a good mood but it's a shame that the wait staff was not giving.

A trip back from Cardiff and my first stop was to venture to Poncho 8 for a free burrito! It's nicely located near the canal, so it's a pleasant little walk from the station. The little fast food restaurant has a few seats, but it is more of a grab and go place. The menu isn't extensive but easily covers the full burrito range and also offers a healthy, low calorie salad option too, which is good for the health conscious out there. The free check in offer with Yelp doesn't actually outline what free thing you'll receive, and when we showed it to the staff they weren't too sure what it was but told us we could have whatever we wanted, which was great! I chose a delicious burrito mix of pulled pork and spicy beef, topped with lots of creamy advocado, chilli sauce, beans, rice, lime juice, cheese, sour cream, the full works! We sat holding our heavily filled wraps and tucked in, accompanied by help-yourself mint water. A lovely refreshing drink to wash drink such heavy food! We gobbled up our food and left feeling happy and full. I'd most certainly pay for a burrito from Poncho 8. The ingredients were tasty and fresh and very satisfying. Yelpers, definitely cash in on the free check in offer! Thanks Yelp and Poncho 8.

The double meat (succulent pork and barbacoa steak) was well seasoned and magically crammed into the tardis-inspired tortilla. Secondly, because it was my first time checking in there, they gave it to me FOR FREE!! A free burrito. Just let that sink in for a while. So the burrito was as tasty as those from Tortilla so it deserved 4 stars, plus the bonus star for it being free! Did I mention I got a free burrito? Amazing.

I'm from Southern California so I know Mexican food. There is not a large Mexican population in London to provide the kind of authentic menus like you will find in London Indian restaurants. But after days of pub food, Indian and Italian we decided to give it a try. This is a nicely decorated little restaurant with a nice attentive staff. Was the food different from what we were used to? Yes, but it was very tasty. My wife had chicken tacos served on a large platter with separate portions to build your own taco. They had Mexican rice but no refried or black beans or lettuce for the tacos. The tacos were hard shell. I had fajitas and they were very good but served without a side of rice. The portions were very large. If you are in Pimlico, close to Victoria station, give it a try

If he thought this place was good, then maybe it was worth a shot. Yes, this is the best Mexican food in London. It's actually great! We started with the best thing ever, queso fundido. It's basically melted cheese in a dish. It's a really good idea. And if it weren't enough, they can put pulled pork on top! An even better idea. It's absolutely delicious. I can't even describe how melty and salty and delicious it is. You don't even need tortillas. Next the tacos. I went for Al Pastor (the manager claimed they were the best in London; he's probably right). They're small, but you get a plate of 3. I'd love to go back with a big group to try a bunch of different varieties. I'd never had lamb, but they do a cool dish that is the Mexican equivalent of a lamb stew. It was tender with a flavourful sauce -- and their big dish was easy to share with two people. The menu is gigantic, with tons of dishes to choose from. They do a tasting menu on Sundays, and once a month you can go to a Wednesday dinner with a special chef and menu of "posh" dishes inspired by Mexican flavours. I hear they have salsa on Fridays but haven't been. Definitely book ahead of time if you're going to be there during the weekend. Gluten free notes: Most Mexican food is naturally gluten-free except for flour tortillas. Make sure you get corn tortillas instead, and make sure they're 100% corn (masa harina) with no (wheat) flour.

One night we weren't so please with the food and asked if the chef had changed - it hadn't and Fernando came over and chatted with us for at least 10 minutes about the restaurant and how the menu has changed. He appreciates constructive criticism and changes the menu ac coring to what people want. It's a great place, and highly recommended. My boyfriend and I stopped in here looking for a quick bite before seeing Penn and Teller at the Apollo. It looked kitsch but in a funny way, like an old Disney cartoon before they became self-aware. We decided to take it for a spin. This place is definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but seeing one single waitress who struggled with English and looked completely confounded when I had tried ordering in Spanish (didn't even know the correct pronunciations of the dishes) at 6 pm in the evening was a little depressing. I ordered the sopa azteca and tacos (pretty hard to go wrong there). My esteemed companion ordered potatoes and grilled salmon. The sopa azteca was ok (read: edible), and honestly I was so hypnotically enthralled by my ice cold Corona that I wasn't too bothered by that. The potatoes were soggy, though the salsa was very fresh and good. The tacos were.. sad. Limp and not very spicy, with iceberg lettuce and those kind of tomato slices you sometimes see in restaurants but have never found in your own kitchen that are more white than red. I don't know how else to describe it but "sad," which is so far from the vibrancy I have come to expect from Mexican food. The salmon was passable, not "blackened" as the menu described. Much to our frustration, however, was that it came floating on a high tide of more of these mushy potato chunks that were identical to the starter that had been ordered. So, basically my boyfriend's dinner consisted of lots and lots of really mediocre potato chunks, and a reasonable hunk of salmon. It was something a server should have noted in the order, since the menu didn't even mention the potatoes in the salmon dish. Things took a turn for the worse when we needed to go and make the show, and the server was overwhelmed by most of the other patrons with the same intention. It seemed that her solution to this problem was to stand in the bar and not acknowledge anyone she was supposed to be serving. It got to the point where we finally got up (with two other parties also attempting to leave), and just stood in line for her to run our cards. Normally, such a circumstance would have left me mortified - I really hate being that sort of guest, and I will often choose not to even go to a restaurant unless I think there is time for something leisurely. Nevertheless, this server was being ridiculous, the £40 needed to change hands, and we needed to get the heck out of that dive. All in all, I really wouldn't go back for anything except perhaps another ice cold Corona. It was a pretty sad food experience.
