Excellent value and price. The jacket potato was lovely with coleslaw. The gin and lemonade was served in a large goblet glass. The pizza was quite tasty. It's huge! The venue is massive, set in The Old Ledger Building of Canary Wharf. As always there's loads of history with this building and Weatherspoons have decorated the walls full of info and pictures to show it off. I've been here loads of times, table for two or a family of 10, there's tables to suit. The food is great quality for the price and so easy to order straight to the table with the app! I rate a 4 star, it's great and so good on price for the area it's unreal, couldn't afford to drink what we did anywhere else read more

You know what, I am a fan of this Wetherspoons pub. My friends and I have spent many evenings here. Why I here you ask? Cheap alcohol, cheap food, pleasant staff, beer garden and just a general nice vibe and cliental. Today we popped in for a pre-cinema meal. With still trying to eat healthy I opted for the tandoori chicken skewers with salad and rice. The portion given was huge - two large, long skewers of chicken, a big chuck of rice and salad bowl with a side of mint yogurt. The food was average, chicken a bit too chewy and I struggles to get it off the stick and rice clearly out of a package but hey, it's a Wetherspoons, I'm not expecting amazing - good is good! This is probably one of nicest Wetherspoons I've been to, the building is the best part with plenty of character - and it's decorated to a higher standard than most Wetherspoons. When we were there it was quite empty so it was a great place to relax but I imagine it's rather more hectic when full of the after work crowd. You can find a couple of good craft beers these days, at crazy low prices, I'll keep this pub in mind when I'm meeting people at canary wharf in future. read more

Can't actually believe I am admitting that I went here on Yelp. I should check and see if my Elite badge has been stripped. This place is next to my office. It's a Wetherspoons, this is enough to ensure that I would never set foot in the door but my co-workers wanted a 'cheap and cheerful lunch'. Cheap and cheerful do not go hand in hand in my book. Oliver Twist, I am not. They have so many deals on here that it's impossible to know what to order. Everything comes with chips. They have Curry Wednesdays. It's all too much for me. So we ordered what we considered the daily special 'Roast pork sandwich £2.99'. I had flights of fantasy about Broadway's Market's decadent hog roast. I am a fool. We got two slices of wholemeal brown bread, unbuttered, and the grimest slices of prison pork I've ever seen. No apple sauce, no whisper of anything else. This might well be the worst sandwich I've ever eaten out. Well actually, I only ate the bread and the chips. I have a healthy respect for food poisoning. My colleague's burger look reasonably okay. The venue is lovely on the river, and they have a nice selection of ciders, but for your own sake, don't eat there. read more

This place RULES!!! I came in here every day when I was in town. First of all, they accommodate all food allergies. Even have separate menus for each allergy. I had my own Gluten Free menu to order off of. You order at the bar, and they bring to your predetermined table. (no tabs allowed here you pay as you go) The food was fantastic for what they charge, and the enormous amount of beer, wine and cider they have is amazing. The vibe is super chill, they have two outside seating areas (one smoking and one side not) Its super unassuming but my favorite place to eat when I was in town. GF breakfast every morning for 5 euros-CANT beat that price anywhere. They also have an unlimited refills on coffee you just get a cup and use the machine they have. They even offer soy milk if you need non dairy. Loved the staff, especially the super tattooed younger fellow who works in the morning. He was super chill and very nice. Happy to find a Wetherspoons everywhere I go. Decent drink prices, but the food prices are better. We showed up 5 minutes late for breakfast, but the friendly barman suggested we get the brunch which is around the same price but has chips instead of a hash brown (sad!) so we went with that. The food came out quickly! I was mentally preparing myself for a 10 minute wait but the food was ready almost before we chose a seat. The usual football fans were there with their pints, and a few women out for their Sunday morning catch ups. Fabulous carpeting and interesting art work throughout. Check this place out soon! And ask how and when they managed to get the pigeon out of the rafters. ;) xx read more

Love this place. Ostensibly it's a 'Spoons but being in Canary Wharf has smartened it up a bit by osmosis. Excellent service, even when it's heaving you can get served within a few minutes and the taps are poured properly. Many other pubs in CW have beautiful staff that are terrible at their jobs. The opposite is true here! The food is as you expect. Cheap, cheerful - don't order anything too complicated to avoid disappointment. Excellent selection of beers, taps and whiskey. It's the only Wetherspoon near Canary Wharf and winner of the 2004 pub toilet of the year awards. What more can you ask for? Spacious interior, cheap booze, reasonably priced reasonable food. Typical Wetherspoon really. It has a better atmosphere than many of the more expensive places in the area, and the prices are better but it's a bit out of the way from the main Canary Wharf estate. read more

To be honest I started to give this Wetherspoons three stars, but upon reflection I'm giving them four for the reasons I'll describe. First, this is a Wetherspoons... if you hate Wetherspoons then they're not going to change your mind here, it is what it is. As with many people I tend to shy away from most Wetherspoons and certainly don't seek them out if I'm in a new city, etc., I would much rather spend my time searching for a random no name local over any chain pub. That said, this particular Wetherspoons has come to my rescue quite a few times now so they're getting an extra star from me. As mentioned in some of my other reviews, I live in this area which often means if I want a lazy drink on the weekend without getting on the tube a) I find myself around here after the cinema, etc., and b) I'm not "dressed to go out"... in the summer I may very well have shorts on, dare to think. The first time we wended up at this Wetherspoons however it was the only place still open in the area so there wasn't really a choice... we went in, had a couple of beers and a chat, and generally agreed it wasn't the torturous experience we thought it might have been. Armed with the knowledge of the above, we found ourselves here a second time after having been turned away from others pubs in the area for having the previously mentioned shorts on after "x" hour... they wouldn't even let me sit outside of one of the pubs that we've watched football in before, as in this place is a proper pub, not a fancy bar... still, the bouncer said no one with shorts was allowed anywhere on the premises so I couldn't even sit on the outside benches... grrr! Never a problem during the day mind you, but at night there's often different rules. Alas, this review isn't for them however. So, of we go down to the Ledger Building uncertain as to our fortunes, but being a Wetherspoons shorts were of course not a problem... they smiled at us, let us in, and again we found ourselves unexpectedly having a few beers and a chat here... following a few similar experiences we've just conceded and often go here if we think there's any reason we're not cool enough on a particular night to get into one of the other pubs on the quay. The place itself is quite spacious and pretty interesting for a Wetherspoons... as mentioned by some the bathrooms are also unique, and definitely a cut about your normal pub toilets. They do a decent rotation of pseudo craft beers, and have extra cheap Baltika (a Russian beer that I like) so as you would imagine you can do an evening here quite cheap if you wanted to. (The first time we ordered we thought they hadn't charged us for something to be honest!) The crowd is often a Wetherspoons crowd, but hey... you're in a Wetherspoons, so can't complain about that can you! Hens and occasional ruckus aside we've still always managed to hold on to that "hanging out" vibe so it hasn't been enough to run me away or convince me to not wear shorts when it's warm outside on an evening in hopes of getting into one of the other pubs. I will say I haven't eaten here, but from what I've seen it's standard Wetherspoons fare... cheap, not above average, dining... but kudos for the calories on the menu. I also would't recommend this as a weekend destination if you wanted that "London" atmosphere... it gets busy, but not centre of London busy... for me that's a saving grace, but for others it may be a negative if you're looking for a party vibe. (Despite my four star rating I also wouldn't make a straight run for here if you're a tourist or visitor in the area.) So, in the end it is what it is and they carry the banner as well as any Wetherspoons can, but they are getting that extra star for always being so nice to me at the door therefore not stripping me of a post cinema pint on the walk home that is such a nice to have. read more

Lovin this place! Though it looks like its a chain, we had a great time enjoying the food and drinks. We went Friday night before a movie night and found ourselves pleasantly surprised at the food options! The food came out quicker than expected and was really good. I had the skinny chicken burger, which was really good and hubby had the regular burger which he enjoyed. Only thing I didnt like was the fries...really dry. next time ill get the salad. Atmosphere was fun -- looked like mostly folks who were looking to let off some steam on a Friday night before going back home. And with 11 pound bottles of wine, who wouldnt give that a go? will definitely be back. for brunch/drinks/whatever! read more

Everytime i go in here, i appear to end up drunk..lol. i don't know if thats because i enjoy the wine too much? or maybe i go here with my dad who also enjoys the wine! Seriously though, i do usually end up very drunk on leaving here, (and yes it is the wine's fault) but i thinks that its because its such a good price that i just feel the need to buy more. I've been going here for a number of years now and I used to LOVE it at first, but as I've got older, the bar just looks like it's in need of modernising. It's still far better than any other Spoons I've seen but it could be better for the clientelle around. Whilst this is a Wetherspoons/Lloyds Bar chain, it is the nicest one I've been to. The building is Grade 1 listed and there are lots of old maps and photographs of the area when it was a dirty, working dock...very different from the shiny glass skyscrapers of today. Food is as you would expect (cheap and average) and there are lots of guest ales for sale at the expected low prices. Perhaps the most unexpected thing to mention are the toilets, which have won an award from the British Toilet Association as the 'Best Loos in the United Kingdom!'. Ha ha! Pretentious Wetherspoons pub which is ok if you want a quite night out. If you want a fun night out at the weekend then I suggest you avoid this place. I've been quite a few times because friends have chosen to meet there but we never really stay long because it gets boring very quickly. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bar staff are generally good. However, the door staff can be quite rude at times which can be quite unwelcoming. read more

The Ledger Building is how Canary Wharf does Weatherspoon pubs. Much classer looking, better standard of clientelle but thankfull the same cheap prices. I've been here a number of times and eaten and drunk here. The food is servered in the restaurant side of the building so feels a bit more like going to a value restaurant then eating in a pub. If you need somewhere for food and drink on a budget then this is worth a visit. Make sure you take ID in the evening as they do scan IDs on entry and will refuse entry without. read more

Despite being a Wetherspoons, this is actually a fairly serviceable pub. The actual building is characterful and there are interesting period photos on the walls. I found the staff friendly and helpful. The selection of soft drinks was impoverished but that's normal. Solid. read more

The Ledger Building is really close to the financial district, so you get a lot of after-work types. The space is huge (and they share a weird/cool bathroom downstairs with the restaurant next door). The beer selection was great, and they have special prices on a ton of beers so it was super cheap. A bunch of TVs to watch the game, and the bartenders are super friendly. read more

Part of the Wetherspoons chain this place is really great value for money but not only that it's a beautiful place to relax after a meal. The roofs are high and the decor is bright and welcoming making the place feel really spacious and welcoming. We spent quite a few hours here and never once felt like we were in the way or taking up space. Oh and the bathrooms are HUGE you could have a party in there! read more

If i could give "0" stars i would, but unfortunately that's not an option. I have never had such harrowing experience in 5 years since i moved in this coutry. I came today for a leaving party of two colleagues of mine in "The ledger building" pub in west india quay,London. Upon entering ( we were a group of more than 30 people) the bouncers shouted at us aggressively, asking us to start queueing up for ID checks. In all honesty we were just greeting one another in the spacious outdoor section of the venue, after our bags were checked, away from the cobblestone pathway that leads to the entrance, we weren't bothering anyone an i cannot stress it enough, we literally just walked in. We weren't in anyone's way or anything, but just trying to ackwoledge everyone before stepping in for long awaited drinks. After few of us had our IDs scanned we patiently waited on the side of the corridor for everyone to be scanned and one of the bouncer got aggravated at us again and told us to move somewhere else. Most of my friends got there earlier and were already having drinks and food and resumed the positions on their tables, few of us, around probably 4-5 girls were waiting for the rest to join in. We scooted a little bit further upon being told off, but it wasn't enough, we then moved on the other side of the corridor but still something clearly bothered him and in a shockingly rude manner literally shooed us away from there. I told my colleagues in my native language " This is so F******g annoying, being bounced back and forth" when a waiter ( with short blue hair) a fellow countrymen, brushing the carpet nearby, approchead me and started insulting me, pointing his finger right under my face, saying i was being extremely rude and they were doing only their job. I didn't even know who he was, what was he trying to say or that he was even speaking to me! So i shifted my attention to him throught the chattering and the loud noises only to realize that an employee of a place i JUST stepped into, felt comfortable enough in insulting me, unapologetically and in a way i wouldn't even speak to an animal for something that firstly, i wasn't even directed at him, secondly,i was jockingly talking to my colleagues expressing our mild frustration. I asked him to mind is own business and the second after he reported me that to that same bouncer and i got KICKED OUT OF THE PLACE. I GOT KICKED OUT simply because i was expressing my opinion to friends. The bouncer dragged, DRAGGED ME, outside until i kept asking to speak with the manager. This has never happened in my whole life, such an horrific experience. We were being absolutely quiet and pacific, we were ready to celebrate a lovely eveing amongst friends, the tones were never raised and we were keeping to ourelves. We didn't even get order a drink because they decided to scold me for speaking my mind and suddendly i wasn't welcome in the bulding any longer. Upon speaking to the manager, after telling him my side of the story, he kept talking over me,and all he told me was " He is my member of staff, and altought i didn't know what he said,since i don't speak the language" i'm willing to believe him instead of you" and told me all whole of my friends that i wasn't llowed in the building any longer and they if they wanted to tag with me they'll have to find somewhere else to go. We gladly did, in the nearby All bar one across the bridge. Still, i've never in my life experienced or even witnessed something of that sort. I'm in utter shock. read more

This bar is a Wetherspoon's and it's obvious. It's a nice place but being part of a chain shows and it lacks any kind of charm or really anything unique. During the weeknights it will be packed with the working stiffs from the banks and finance centres at Canary Wharf. Unless you happen to be one of these people, work with these people or like to be around large intoxicated groups of them, it's best to stay away during those times. Having said that, I really enjoy this bar on the weekends for the selection and prices. This bar has real ales on tap and they number close to, if not achieve, double digits. If you're like me and prefer ale to cold, bland lagers, than this is quite a draw. The taps frequently rotate with guest ales so I generally find something new to try. Food is okay, it's a chain pub and you get what you would expect. My wife and I usually go here before going to the cinema. I wouldn't spend a lot of time here, but I do enjoy popping in for a pint of real ale. read more

A recent refit has improved this pub greatly from the previous dire interior that did the beautiful building a disservice. Food is cheap and you get what you pay for. I stumbled across this haven while killing time before going to Cineworld just around the corner. I wandered from the DLR station looking at menu's along the way. Quite a list to choose from, Italian, Spanish, Lebanese / Indian. Some were a bit pricey. Last along the avenue was the Ledger Building which is in fact a JDW pub. The ambiance is excellent. You get hit with a blast of heat when you cross the threshold which is very welcoming after strolling along the open area outside. There are several rooms as you make your way to the bar. They have TV in the bar but volume is low. Pick a seat close to the box if you want to hear the news. On the way in there is a large notice advertising their 'Club' Nights. Tuesday night when I went, is Steak night. There is also a notice offering a discount for Movie goers on presentation of ticket or email confirmation of booking. I noted the table number and went to give my order for my wife and I. I had the 14oz Aberdeen Angus rump steak and my wife had the Peri Peri Chicken. I wasn't offered the Steak Club price for the Aberdeen Steak. And despite the fact that they offer a pint of beer free, when I asked for a pint of Lemonade and Lime- yeah I know, I can't keep away from the 'hard stuff' I was charged extra for it. As a side I also ordered 6 onion rings. Quality of the steak was excellent (mine was medium rare) it was served with chips, peas, tomato (half) and a single flat mushroom. I also ordered peppercorn sauce for an extra £1.15. First thing we noticed was that there was no pepper at any of the tables around ours. Maybe if I had gone further I would have found some. Ketchup was also in short supply but we did get some from another table. My wife is Oriental and likes her food spicy, which is why she ordered the Peri Peri Chicken. But spicy it was not. Flavour was lacking and was perhaps a little overcooked as the meat was very dry. Definitely needed the Peri Peri sauce. My steak was delicious - perfectly cooked. The onion rings smelled heavily of old / overheated oil and lacked flavour. Peppercorn sauce was a little bland but nonetheless acted as a gravy anyway. Only disappointing aspect was not being offered the Steak Club price. Toilets are immaculate, bring your diner with you when you go. You could eat it off the floor in there. (Well, maybe not). Overall recommendation is go there for an excellent evening. ask about discounted meals - prices will not be offered. read more

So went for a meal here with some friends and have to say was totally disappointed... I understand you get what you pay for but i didnt even get that. My food I ordered was completely wrong and when I mentioned it to the manager he told me oh well we don't have what you asked for. I wasn't told when ordering and he didn't even check to see if they had it in stock. Was left with food I couldn't eat. Gets pretty busy midweek evenings with all the wharfers it feels much more relaxed and much queiter at the weekends. Good pub, good staff! Always friendly, clean and tidy. You can take measure of a pub by it's toilets and they've got this sussed. If only they were a little closer to Canary Wharf (rather than tucked away on the corner of the docks) it would be a middle of the night (rather than start/occasionally end of the trail) place to drink! read more
