After having a burrito I usually have a (known among my friends) "burrito baby". Y'know, the post-work paunch that doesn't love work pants that keeps happening because YOU CAN'T GET ENOUGH BURRITOS?
Yeah.
Totally worth it.
Like Chris R (hey, Chris R!) I also love - not so secretly - Exmouth Market. And I love their weekday food stall set-up where you can get a quick fix of Indian plates, or thick-cut beef sandwiches or...ACTUALLYIDON'TKNOWBECAUSEIALWAYSGETBURRITOS.
Freebird Burritos are great. The staff is great (point 1), and they wrap their burritos like pros (point 2). Pork, beef, chicken and vegetarian burritos are options, as are fajitas and the "naked" burritos which basically shoves all the key burrito gear into a box without a tortilla. I'm not a big meat-eater, but the meat here is great...slow-cooked, no gristle, perfect bite-sizes, mega-tender.
I always get an extra side of guac (60p) because it's a rule that avocado makes everything better. In my ideal world I'd add some more kick to it but, hey, that's being extremely picky.
One burrito (6 pounds-ish, depending on your modifications) is more than enough for a hearty lunch. Which means I've never tested their chips or salsa or other things (but, note, they exist as options!).
Yelp note: my new "secret sauce" is half HOT sauce half mild pico-de-gallo-style sauce. End result? A delicious medium heat. Y'welcome. read more
