The friendly bloke who runs this stand apparently operates a few other ones around London including the halloumi and mezze stand on the end of Leather Lane Market. Whilst chatting with him as my wrap was being prepared, I discovered that Victus & Bibo used to be a juice and coffee stand in the mornings and a food prep area for other stands. Currently, they're sorting the inside of this stand to eventually be a breakfast stop for coffees, juices, and porridge, as well as continuing to serve lunch. In fact, rumour has it they've netted a World Barista Champion to serve up the java! As far as the actual grub goes, I was merrily satisfied with my 'lamb bread': ground meat, veg, sauces, with grilled halloumi for one quid extra. It's quite the affordably filling lunch at £4.50 that won't leave you feeling like you just consumed a gut bomb (I'm looking at you, Chilango).

When we visited they only had one option, the amazing halloumi salad (you could choose salad with spicy chicken+ halloumi...or just with halloumi.) As there was only one option, the line moved forward pretty quickly as the two ladies behind the counter quickly threw together amazing salads for all the hungry folks in the queue. I loved it. The salad itself is tasty, the humus is gorgeous, they give you a good splash of yogurt, and both the halloumi and the chicken were perfect.

The FRENCHIE - Me enjoying the burger despite the awful rain!

These guys may be a bit hard to track down, sometimes, but the duck confit burgers and duck fat…read morechips they're cranking out meticulously and to absolute perfection are without comparison anywhere in the UK, (in my humble opinion). It's about all they're serving, but trust me, it's enough. The duck confit burgers come with your choice of 3 different cheeses, bleu cheese, raclette, or goat's cheese. Personally, I'm not the biggest cheese fan, and always go for the raclette, as it's milder. What makes the burgers even better is the truffle mayo- and if you're lucky, truffle honey- that they're putting on them, which makes the flavors pop all the more. The chips also come with a huge dollop of truffle mayo on top. One setback I would say to the whole operation is the usual lack of seating wherever these guys are to be found. If you don't have friends with you, that means you need to either only order one thing to hold it with one hand and eat with the other, or make a friend fast, to help share the load. Still, it is one of THE best burgers- duck, or otherwise- I've ever had, so I'm not complaining... too much. At £8 a pop- or £10 including the chips- it may not be the cheapest- nor the healthiest- thing you can find on the streets, but it's definitely worth every pence.

I first experienced The Frenchie in November of 2013 at the Real Food Market on the Southbank. I…read morewas excited to visit the Real Food Market, as I had lived in Waterloo in the fall of 2012 and had eaten at least 2 meals there every weekend. The Frenchie was a new addition to the Real Food lineup and upon reading "Duck Confit Brioche Bun" I knew that my old favorites didn't stand a chance. Since then, I have bumped into The Frenchie stands in several markets across London. I've tried everything they have to offer (they're all so amazing). Here's my quick rundown. Duck fat fries with truffle mayo £4 (i think?) omgsogood. like too good. I get these as a walking around snack almost every time I see this stand. Perfect to munch on while you're making the difficult decision of what to eat. Duck confit brioche bun £6 duck confit cooked on a flat top with duck cracklin (omg) and your choice of cheese. In order of my preference: goat cheese with honey, blue cheese with honey, cheddar. The bun is griddled with duck fat and the sandwich is built with mustard, onion jam and rocket. It's divine. Also, if you have your phone out and show them you liking/following The Frenchie on social media they'll give you £1 off. Jussayin. Go here.

Best hog dog in London? You bet!…read more I have sampled a Big Apple hot dog on a couple of occasions and if different locations, but the most memorable was at Grillstock in Bristol. I was there for the weekend, so on the Saturday I treated myself to a 'Huge Pole' a succulent 8 inch beef & pork dog sausage seasoned with sage, mace and cayenne peppe, a real mouth fall, really delicious! Then on the Sunday we were back, my mate Dave was chatting away to the owner Abiye and the topic food challenges came up, then Abiye laid down the challenge, some guy had done a double 'Huge Pole' but someone needed to take it up a notch, yep, that guy was me. The Triple Pole: The deal was I had to fit a everything in my gob and have a bite, then I had to finish the beast and If I completed the challenge, the 'Triple Pole' would be on Abiye. Guess what? I demolished it with ease, and the main reason was the standard of those sausages, so tasty I manged three of the buggers and that's why Big Apple Hot Dogs is the best hot dog in London.

Hotdogs are street food and should be eaten on the street after having drunk more than you should have been allowed. Sauces and condiments should be added and spilled liberally on expensive trainers. It's the law. AND the hotdogs are very very good. If you're looking for the traditional hotdog- the Big Frank is the epitome. It's exactly what you want. If not, go for the the Big Dog. It's a polish sausage of impressive stature. Not down with pig? Get the 100% beef dogs. You know you want to. I have to stop here because I feel slightly uncomfortable. I keep wanting to describe things, but all I keep coming up with words like Huge and Succulent and in conjunction with various terms for sausage, it's a bit... um.. suggestive. So, in conclusion - Go find Big Apple Hot Dogs and feast on the hottest, juiciest, most meaty pork swords/tube steaks London has to offer.
