A friend of mine that lives in the UK loves him a cheeky Nando's and insisted that we come here one night. A quick description would be a nice, fast casual chicken place. While I did like their food I was most impressed with how they handled food allergies. When we sat at our table they asked if any of us had food allergies. When I said that I did they insisted that I place my order "at the till". When I decided what I was interested in ordering they went over every single part of the order and looked for allergens that could be a problem for me. Some might think that was over the top but I loved it because it was a restaurant like this that took me out of commission for two days when I ate something unexpected. My first time visiting a Nandos and I loved it. Staff was so friendly and nice, location was clean as were the bathrooms. I received my food quickly and it was delicious. Not from this area and This was the first place recommended to grab food from late on a Monday night. We got there about 30 mins before closing, but the staff was still very attentive and gave a few recommendations. We got 10 wings - hot, garlic bread and sweet potato wedges. The wings were very fresh and juicy, sauce was a great pairing. Even though to me their "hot" was more so a mild but I love spicy food so be weary. Sweet potato wedges were just alright, the dipping sauce was a good pair with the wedges. The garlic bread was delicious, hot and tasted homemade. They have a variety of sauces to chose from or even add on later if you prefer to which we enjoyed. Would come here again. It was my first time in London and someone recommended this place. London isn't really known for their food. However, I think Nandos is a safe choice when you are looking for something quick and easy. This is a chicken chain restaurant. They have wraps, tacos, chicken plates with sides, fajitas pitas and chicken sandwiches. You order at the counter and go sit and wait for your order. SERVICE: 2 STARS The service was not what I expected. They weren't too friendly or nice. It was obviously my first time so I didn't know how the ordering process worked. Not a big deal though. FOOD: 2 STARS The chicken was OK and I think it was because I smothered it in so much sauce. Ever since I started this low-carb diet, I find myself gravitating towards Nando's and their grilled chicken. Since I'm not eating bread or starches, it's been meat, meat, meat and Nando's does it well. They have a pretty solid formula for their restaurants - pick a table, order and pay at the till ("register" in American) and one of the staff will bring your food. While you're waiting, they have a sofa fountain where you can freely refill your drinks - a rarity in the UK where you usually pay for each glass. They also have bottled beers and wines, plus a few different juices (that aren't refillable). Plain, Medium and other varying levels of spice. The "medium" is plenty spicy for me or sometimes I like to add the Garlic and Herb to it. Grab a big stack of napkins if you're a carnivore like me. This was a nice enough example of a Nando's. Super friendly staff, tidy restaurant but perhaps a little let down by the food. Not that the food was bad, but my "hot" chicken wasn't really all that spicy. I really don't get how different Nando's can spice things so different - same order from Chiswick nearly blew my head off. The issue was easily rectified with some of the hot sauce available. Overall this would normally result in me giving out three stars, but the cleanliness of the restaurant and the politeness of the staff on a Saturday lunchtime brought it back up again. read more

Place gets BUSY during weekday lunches.... So come on the early side or be prepared to queue a bit! The line of often up to the point of the front door. This location has ample seating the in front area and in the back, as well (easier to seat groups in the back portion of the restaurant, I find). As for Nando's as a whole, love it. My personal favourite is the chicken burger, single, with cheese and pineapple no mayo and a side of corn. Tempting as it might be to write off this place as just another chain, I gotta say, I was reasonably impressed. Famished on my way home from a late meeting, I ducked in to grab some takeaway. I realize 5 stars for a chain restaurant/fast)ish) food place seems high, but I love Nando's. I just do. I think there is something to be said about consistency. When I have a PiriPiri craving, it can be fixed. When I am in dire need of a protein based lunch, grilled chicken is a good choice. The location just near Spitalfields is one of my favorite Nando's locations because it has a bit more pizazz than the other locations. It's filled with windows and ample seating. It has a massive red lit-up heart. From outside it looks like it is a much trendier place than a Nando's, but that's the area for you. They really keep up with the Joneses there. The other fantastic thing is that my vegetarian friends have a decent selection. In fact, my co-worker says it is one of her faves because the veggie menu is satisfying. Plus, she's also addicted to the PiriPiri chips. I'm just addicted to the medium chicken burger with pineapple or a 1/2 chicken -- I put a big, fat helping of Hot on the side for dipping. I really should keep some at home, but it's just so much better there. They also have a wonderful customer loyalty program. So it's quite easy to earn free food after just a couple of visits! It's good Portuguese chicken, but having gone to Portugal and lived in Montreal where there's a large Portuguese population, this place is just "all right". In Montreal, the chicken isn't overly salted, dripping in disgusting oil and comes with HUGE portions for only $10 CAD. Here in Nandos, as it is a commercial chain of said Portuguese chicken shops, the portions and sides are pathetic (think half a ricebowl full) the chicken is over salted, over grilled (charred chicken is not yummy), and it's only saving grace is that service is fast, and the chicken (once you take the salty skin off), is properly and juicily cooked. I am not a fan of this place because I always end up regretting the food there, but then again... I'm comparing it to the real thing. read more

SEriously as good as it gets. The wait is long to get in but definitely worth the wait. I ordered the half chicken with fries and coleslaw and omgosh it was delicious! Perfect mix. It is kind of pricey here but nonetheless it is worth it!!! You MUST get the chicken!! (nothin else on the menu) I think I tried their chicken pita last time and it was watevers. When you go here.. you just have to know what to get. Then it's perfect and you won't regret it! This location though is hugeee and it's great for parties! We enjoyed our meal at Nandos. Yes, the rice side was very small, but the chicken, and the wings were quite good, if not earth shattering. We also enjoyed the side of olives. Similar experience to James A. Waitress was not very polite. Waited 20 minutes for my food when my colleague's arrived in less than2 minutes. Others arrived after me and ordered the same and received their meals first. Waitress didn't seem to care. When I queried where my food was I received a 'yes?' with the tone suggesting 'so what?!' After checking the website for opening times, I arrived at Nandos last night (16/01/13) at 22:05 knowing they were open until 22:30. I was told they were only doing takeaway and we couldn't take a seat. I pointed out that they don't close until half past 10, to which the reply was "Yes but we need to close early tonight".
