Nami was a high class experience, not that I was expecting anything less. The entrance and interior of the restaurant are beautiful, moody, and intimate. We were there on opening weekend, so the staff to diner ratio was very high and very attentive. We were greeted and given business cards by the GM as well as the VP of food and beverage for Tavistock. The cocktails were lovely - I tried both the Lilac and Blush. Both were really nice! My fiancé got the Moss though which was the best. We ordered a few things to share. We started with the cucumber salad, hamachi Nami, and tuna crudo. These were all very good, but were blown away by the lobster donuts which were incredible and also super unique in flavor. For a hot item we ordered the pork katsu. It was super crispy and was very good, however didn't have quite as much flavor as I would have liked and the slaw on the side didn't add much to the dish. Finally, for dessert we ordered the golden rocher which was incredible. Like an ice cream version of a ferrero rocher but better! All in all, this was a very expensive meal but we had a great experience and really enjoyed what we tried. With everything we ordered plus 2 drinks each it was not super filling, so just keep in mind if you are really hungry. We look forward to coming back again and trying the omakase experience sometime! read more

Came here to see what the spot is about. The food was ok. Had an order of ribeye and lamb chops. The ribeye was to chewy and seemed a little less hooked then the medium temperature that was recommended. When it came to the lamb chops, only 2 of the 4 really had adequate meat on them which was also disappointing. The potato salad was great and the asparagus was amazing. The drinks were great also. The service was great. The servers explained the menu in detail, and also when the meals came out, explain what spices and how it was prepared. The ambience top-tier it is what you would say a nice bougie restaurant. The lighting especially set the mood. All in all, I won't be so much in a hurry to run back or probably even recommend but it was a subpar experience read more

Amazing experience at Nami, always. Definitely a fine dining experience well worth the coin for special occasions. We love their cocktails as well as entrees, specifically the Lamb Chops which are to die for, probably the best we have ever eaten. The ambiance is moody, dark and dim - perfect for a date night. Some nights they have an in-house DJ adding to that ambiance. Service is always phenomenal and I cannot recommend Nami enough. We love this hidden gem. read more

Absolutely phenomenal experience. The service, atmosphere, food, and drinks are exceptional. Chris was our server and he was knowledgeable, and personable - we really enjoyed him. We ordered about half the menu for 4 of us, but my favorites were the king crab and king crab rice, lamb and Japanese potato salad, and the Nami nuggets with caviar. After 10pm they have a DJ and the vibes turn up, but still enjoyable enough to have conversation. We will definitely be back! read more

Nami exceeded all expectations! Our waiter, Katrina, gave us an amazing experience. She was extremely knowledgeable about menu items and we were so grateful for it. The aesthetic and ambiance was zen, but the food.. OMG! Every bite was an exquisite experience! We sampled the Octopus Stix, Nami Nuggets, Cucumber Salad, Corn, Tuna and Salmon Maki, Lamb Chops and Crispy Pork Katsu.. and they did not miss!! Make sure to leave room for dessert.. their selection covers everything from passion fruit, mango, to decadent chocolate treats. A fan of Ferrero Rocher? There is valet parking in front of the restaurant that is complimentary. The restaurant is attached to the Wave Hotel. If you don't want to valet park, you can park at the Wave Hotel parking lot and walk through the hotel to get to the restaurant. The ambiance was amazing! I loved the low lighting and noise level was not too bad. Perfect to catch up with friends. There is a person at the front to open the door and hostess were both super nice and welcoming. The restaurant itself is BEAUTIFUL. While we were waiting for some friends to arrive, we went to the bar area. They had Zero-proof mocktails and wine for those that don't drink alcohol which was amazing! Our server planned our meal to perfection. Katrina took care of us so well! She was well informed of the menu and the way courses were served. She recommended our group of 4 to order 2-3 dishes per person to share to get the whole experience. The edamame was seasoned very well and delicious. The cucumber salad was good but I'd skip that next time and try something else. We tried all of the Nami Makis and my favorite was the tuna and spicy hamachi. The Robata Salmon was very good and we paired it with the asparagus in a creamy sauce which was AMAZING. The Nami nuggets were also a hit for us with the dipping sauce. We ended the meal with the golden Rocher which did not disappoint and a caramel inside an edible wrapper. Overall we paid about $65 per person with drinks and felt highly satisfied with our meal. read more

Made reservation on OpenTable, it is located in the wave hotel, you can valet infront of the hotel or drive to the back and there is also valet right outside of the restaurant. If you did go through the front entrance of the hotel (you can also self park at the parking garage for free, short walk). Go through the lobby, outside to your right, follow the koi fish on the floor! Beautiful doors open to the restaurant, the staff are so friendly! We were promptly seated and wow it's pretty inside! It's dark and atmosphere is really cool. Not a big place. Our waiter Tyler was fantastic! Always on top of it. You got really nice place setting with a towelette! Start off with some rice paper crackers and dip. We started with a couple of cocktails, blush (kind of like a lychee martini) and mandarin (similar to manhattan). Both pretty good. For apps we did the lobster donuts (soft and delicious), and the hamachi (fresh and melts in your mouth). For entree we went for the lamb chops (came with a side of potato salad), my hubby really enjoyed this, he loved it. I got the sea bass, it was perfect! We also shared a side of the mushroom rice, also good. Dessert we went for the golden rocher, my gosh, heaven! Amazing!!!! We paired our dessert with espresso. Perfect new year eve evening! A time was had at Nami! I had one of the best girls night out that I've had in awhile. From beginning to end, the experience was phenomenal. We started off waiting at the bar and ordered our first set of drinks (the Blush--highly recommended for its smooth delicious taste). The bartender was attentive, funny and kind and unbothered by our cheeriness, which I loved. The vibes were all there. Music wasn't so high that you couldn't hear the person next to you, the lights were dimmed, but there was still enough brightness that you could revel in a good selfie and the spaciousness felt just about right because you weren't on top of others having dinner. When we sat at our table the real fun began. Our waiter, Tyler, was phenomenal. Not only did he answer every single question we had (there were plenty) but he also gave us top notch recommendations that did NOT fail us. Everything we had was absolutely beyond amazing! Hats off to the chef because I've never had such mind blowing food and I'm a huge foodie! Tyler also indulged in all of our jokes and made some himself. Love a good waiter with a personality! The sushi was excellent, highly recommend the yellowtail, tuna and salmon. The Nami nuggets were incredibly flavorful! The Tuna Pizza was a DELIGHT. The salmon was soft and juicy and not a single piece was left on my plate. The ribeye had this exquisite taste and the sea bass was so tender. Oof! What a treat. We practically had half the menu and we do not regret a single thing! Dessert was also wonderful and there's something beautiful about still having room for a sweet treat. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Nami because it's worth the spend. The experience was top notch and I will be recommending it to all of my friends visiting Orlando! read more

Have seen this place a few times on tik tok so naturally that means it's time to check it out and it did not disappoint! Naturally the parking was confusing since it's inside a hotel but we parking in the parking lot across that was free. We started off with a drink very fruity but strong. Then got seated once our party arrived and we were told to basically do more appetizers than entrees so we got almost all the appetizers and just 2 entrees (4 people). It was a nice interpretation of sushi and the food was very different but delicious! More of a one time experience. The dessert was definitely leaving us wanting more! read more

Took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday. Our experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance of the restaurant set the perfect tone for a special evening. The lighting was inviting, the decor was elegant yet comfortable, and the background music complemented the serene setting. Our server, Katrina, was a gem. She was attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Katrina took the time to explain the details of various dishes, which helped us make informed choices. Her recommendations were spot on, and her enthusiasm about the dishes added to our excitement. The food itself was a highlight. Each dish was beautifully presented and burst with flavor, showcasing a high level of skill and quality ingredients. My favorite part was the Panna Cotta dessert because of the rose presentation. My boyfriend was raving about the A5 snow beef the whole night! Nami truly made our celebration memorable. Thanks to Katrina and the rest of the team for making my boyfriend's birthday dinner exceptional. We will definitely be returning and recommending Nami to all our friends! read more

First things first: the service at Nami is by far the best I've ever had at any restaurant in my life. I'm not just talking about our server, Calvert, who was a delight. I'm talking about every single employee we interacted with, including the valet! We were greeted and seated promptly. Calvert and the staff took such great care of us during our meal. He explained items to us, gave recommendations and also made it a fun experience. The food was delicious. The only thing I wouldn't order again was the mushroom donabe. The mushrooms were great, but the rice bites you get without them are just very bland. The manager came by twice during our meal and even came prepared to ask how a certain dish was (that we had finished and was no longer on the table). Clearly she checked the computer before she came by, and that was a nice touch! Usually it's just "how is everyone?". Much more personal this way. She also told us all about the chefs table experience and brought us a QR code card to take with us. When we left, our server validated our parking (or so we thought). Turns out, he handed the other half of the ticket to the host stand and they took it to valet. When we walked outside, our car was already pulled up and the valet opened the door for me while she made change for my husband. Overall, an amazing experience and the service alone will get me back in the door. The food is an added bonus! read more

This was an unexpected, amazing dinner. The food was fantastic. I was in Orlando on business. I was not excited about the food scene in Orlando, but I was pleasantly surprised by Nami. The place was packed, so we ate at the bar. The service was top-notch. Do not skip the lobster donuts or the beetroot Maki. I also really enjoyed the BBQ eel, mushroom donabe, and the crispy pork katsu. The drinks were balanced and delicious. I had a great experience here. read more

TL;DR: Great food, excellent service, a bit on the pricey side, beautiful and intimate interior, superb cocktails. Disclosure: our experience here was on opening weekend, so I don't know if the service was extra attentive, or if that's the norm. For our first visit we opted for the standard dining experience, though we plan to return to try the Omakase at some point. We have been to The Wave many times to eat at Bacán, which has become one of our favorite nicer dinner spots. Naturally, we were excited to try Nami just around the corner. Nami (Japanese for "Wave") is slightly hidden away with its entrance along the far side of The Wave Hotel. They offer complimentary parking, but the free parking garage is also very close by. As you approach the entry there is a large wall with "Nami" in lights and cherry blossoms overhanging the top with up lighting from below. Once you enter the front door, you're met with soft lighting and beautiful decor along the walls that give the impression of being in a foreign country with the outlines of trees showing through paper windows. The dining experience begins with warm towel "coins" (with steaming water poured on them to make them expand, to wipe off your hands. While we were here, the service was absolutely excellent. Countless staff members stopped by to check in and ensure that everything was going smoothly, and asking which items we liked the most. It's worth noting that there is a charge for still water (as it is bottled), much as it is in Europe. The staff was also very helpful in answering our questions and providing suggestions. The cocktails here were superb. The Moss was probably one of my favorite cocktails that I've ever had. It was extremely refreshing. The other 3 cocktails that we tried between the two of us were also very good. Most importantly: the food was very good. The lobster donuts were a very unique combination of sweet and savory that I've never had in the context of lobster before. The Spicy Hamachi Nami (rolls) had excellent and complex flavors. The Tuna Crudo also had really good flavor (we really struggled to get more of the sauce to stay on the pieces, but can only do so much with chop sticks). The cucumber salad was an interesting blend of sweet and savory as well (though I had expected this dish to be more salad-like than it ended up being). I will say that we were not blown away by the Crispy Pork Katsu-- it was good, but simply didn't wow us as much as we had hoped based on the prior courses. The Golden Rocher was incredible. I'm not really a dessert person, but this dish was very good, and with an excellent presentation in the golden orb filled with hazelnut and chocolate sauce on a bed of ice cream and crispy hazelnut and chocolate chunks. Once you crack open the golden orb, the blend here tasted just like a Ferro Rocher (as its name suggests). Though Nami is a bit on the pricey side (I'd say even slightly more than Bacán), we definitely plan to come back here in the future, at the very least to try the Omakase! read more

My wife and I have been here twice now and it's just an awesome restaurant. We've dined at many Michelin starred restaurants before and believe the quality of food at Nami, combined with the service, puts them in that Michelin starred category for sure. The ambiance is perfect - dark but not too dark and pretty with trees and some unique wood on the ceiling resembling a wave. For those who like to take pictures for the gram, this place checks the box. For me, it's about the food and service. Since we did a tasting menu the first time (which they no longer offer for some reason), we knew what to get for the most part. Their edamame are hands down the best we've ever had. The sauce is sooo addicting. Their oysters are hands down the best oysters we've ever had. The flavor they create is perfect. We also got the avocado and crab salad, which was great. And then we split the Chilean sea bass and added two sides - mushrooms (with rice) and eggplant. The sides were amazing and the fish was cooked perfectly. It's also not incredibly overpriced. I think Nami has become my new favorite restaurant in the Orlando area (in the category of ones you can actually go to every so often... as Soseki is probably my real favorite but it's so expensive that you can only go on really special occasions). TLDR - go to Nami. Easy 5 stars. And they really should be adding a 6th star with Michelin soon in my opinion. read more

Tavistock has really outdone themselves with this restaurant! Nami is a brand new Japanese restaurant located at the Lake Nona Wave Hotel. If you decide to valet they have their own separate area just past the parking garage! As you walk up the entrance you are greeted by cherry blossoms hanging from the top of the wall. Inside you will find a very cozy, and sophisticated bar and restaurant where the staff and patrons speak in hushed voices, so they all enjoy their experiences fully. They didn't have any reservations posted yet online but we decided to take our chances and show up right when they opened. We were seated right away at the bar by the host who pulled out and pushed in our chairs! I have to say though that Greg and Danny at the bar really made the experience special for us. They knew that menu inside and out, and had stellar recommendations for us, which is crazy for a place that just opened! For our drinks we had the Moss, Blush, and Mandarin. If I had to pick one of these, I'd say the Mandarin was my absolute favorite, but all of the drinks were amazing! They have zero proof cocktails as well if you're not drinking that night or you abstain. Moving on to the food. THE FOOD IS 10/10. The food items here for the most part are meant to be treated as shareable dishes. We had the edamame & hamachi crudo as our shared starters which were of course amazing. I'd say that it's the best edamame I've ever had, and she hamachi tasted so fresh and well balanced that I could honestly live off it. For our entrees we had the robata salmon & the lamb chops. The lamb chops are served medium per their recommendations which isn't really the norm but trust them. It was melt in your mouth delicious, and the salmon came apart so beautifully. Finally for our desert we wanted to try something different than our norm and got the Dojima Roll which comes served with a mango/passion fruit sorbet. I am a fan of more tangy and tart desserts than something chocolate or custard like, so this was pure heaven for me. The overall experience that I had here makes the drive out here so worth it! I can absolutely see myself becoming a regular here, and I look forward to trying their omakase menu when that starts up! read more

My rating is more like a 3.5/5. Really beautiful restaurant for special occasions or a date :) service was great! Our server was very helpful and gave great recommendations! The food was a little hit or miss for me. The absolute stand out was the octopus! Absolutely delicious. I've never had octopus that was crispy on the outside but melt-in-your-mouth soft on the inside. I highly recommend it! The blush cocktail was very refreshing. I loved how I could really taste the sakura. The size of the lobster donut is laughably small, bordering absurd. For $9 each I don't really think it's worth it, considering that it's is so small you can't really savor it. Tuna pizza was good, but also small. Tuna crudo was good? I didn't love the sauce because there's a bit of a bitter edge. Maybe wasabi or horseradish in it? I was expecting more from the salmon and Chilean sea bass but the flavors did not stand out. The quality of the fish was fantastic, but the flavors were lacking. Mushroom donabe was good, but tasted like a typical good mushroom risotto. The panna cotta is absolutely worth it. The taste is very good and the presentation is very cool :) they dip a rose in frozen nitrogen and you clap on it to disperse pieces of rose petals on the dessert. The key lime ice cream was a gift from our wonderful server :) read more

Came here with my sister to celebrate my 21st & it was definitely an experience ! Everything was very attractive, from the drinks to the plating to the restaurant itself. It was a little smaller than I was expecting but the low lighting + beautiful interior helped it to feel intimate instead of undersized. I'm definitely glad that I made my reservation for a weeknight though , as I would imagine it can get pretty tight on the weekends The tofu dip starter was super yummy + light, my sister & I both really liked it. Our drinks were very pretty and mine tasted strong, but you def won't feel a buzz unless you're ordering a few. My sister is underage & got the Scarlet mocktail which almost tasted like a strawberry lemonade. It's nice that Nami has mocktails to choose from as well :) For our entrees: I love eel so when our server listed the BBQ Unagi dish as one of her favs , I knew that that's what I'd get- it was just okay. Nothing unique about it if you're someone who eats eel somewhat regularly. Howeverrr , I picked out the crudo sesame crust tuna for my sister with a side of their steamed rice & that was amazing ! Super fresh & different from how you would typically have tuna (the sauce was so good!). My sister liked the rice a lot too and said it was a little sweet. Both entrees were surprisingly filling. We got the Golden Rocher to share + they brought me out a complimentary bday dessert (house-made raspberry ice cream) ! Both were very good but I actually preferred my bday dessert to the Golden Rocher , as the GR is fairly rich. But overall , we were both pretty satisfied with what we got! The bathrooms are all unisex , single-use stalls which I really liked. Each bathroom has a different mural in it too which is fun :D We liked the tiger bathroom The only thing I didn't really like was how often we were approached at the table- 10 minutes couldn't go by without somebody working there coming up to us to chat or ask questions, & that happened for pretty much the whole duration of the meal so you can't really talk to your table partner much beyond casual small talk.. but I'll still give them credit , bc everyone was very friendly & professional ! You can tell they take the dining experience seriously. read more

The service was incredible! There were probably 5-6 people who came to our table at different times without it feel crowded and I cannot say enough how amazing everyone was with the service. The ambiance looks like something out of a John Wick or Kill Bill movie (this is meant as a compliment) And the food was great. Sure it's pricey, but the effort put into the look of the food is matched by the effort put into the taste. The best things we had were the Lobster Donuts, the Nami Nuggets (ask for the Japanese bbq sauce) the lamb chops, sea bass and the mushroom rice dish. The only thing lacking for me was the small corn (not something I'd order anyway so it might have been me) the halibut (just because the sea bass was AMAZING) and the cheaper Wagyu was decent meat but not as good as I expected. Also, I thought the panna cotta presentation was super cool with the frozen rose but apparently some people hate that. I'd happily go back and get most of what we got again and try some new stuff but you need to go with the right people who vibe with the kind if menu as it's a specific vibe (again I mean this as a compliment). read more

This restaurant is beautiful and the service is top notch. There is also complimentary valet, which came in handy since it was raining during our visit. We visited for Nami Nights which more of a late night type of concept I believe. The dining options are more like late night snacks starting with popcorn. We then ordered the Nami Nuggets, Fish and Chips, and the Mushroom Truffle Croquettes. The chicken nuggets were good and so were the croquettes. However, I didn't taste the fish and chips because I can't eat Molluscs and there was Octopus included. It would have been nice to know (if added to the description on the menu). Would I visit again? What a spectacular evening at the Chef's Counter at Nami located in The Wave Hotel. Chef Jason is an incredible chef who has taken fine dining and elevated it with a unique twist in the way he prepares, and presents his food. The flavors were delightful and so well balanced and each dish was unique in its own way. The chefs table comprises of 18 course and 1-4 bites per course. The cuisine is Japanese cushion with hints of French. It was really interesting to hear Chef's journey throughout his career. Impressive and I personally value that he has such a diverse background. The ambiance was beautiful. The restaurant is smart and sophisticated while also being modern and chic. The chefs table is located toward the back and it was nice to still be able to hear the restaurant but also have it quiet enough where we were located so we could hear the explanation of each meal perfectly. The service was top notch, they did not miss a beat. The bar manager did a wine sampling for my husband to pair with the courses and he even made me a virgin nom Collin's because I am pregnant. Thank you fellow yelpers for introducing me to this spot. I want for my birthday yah! This place is classy and luxe for grown people. The waiter was on point, the food was good and the drinks were good, except mine. Lol. I had a Cedar Hibiki, I wasn't impressed. But my company had the mandarin and the blush and they enjoyed them so much they had 2 each. It wasn't their fault that I didn't enjoy it, I just should've paid attention to what was inside the drink. Our waiter gave us the canapé (really good)for the table. We ordered the tuna pizza (really good), the lobster donuts (okay), the hamachi (really really good), the octopus (okay), the NAMI nuggets (delicious), the bacon (okay), the robata salmon (delicious), the corn(tasty and delightful )the ribeye (good), lamb chops (that was mine and I wish I told them no sesame seeds, but it was okay. the koshihikari rice, and the haku mix (shots) to cheers. These were disappointing. I saw it in pictures and what came was totally different. When I asked, I was told that the ones in the pics were for a special event.
