Chef Daily Special presents - The J Roll (seasonal): Tuna & avocado, topped w/ torched salmon & truffle crema. It was deliciously savory. Basically a spin of the LV Makimono sushi roll. You can enjoy this portion for $25 but don't expect to be filled. Great place for an intimate dinner. It was not so busy before 6 then suddenly picked up and bartender provided attentive service.

WOW. Very delicious elevated food. The Karaage was unlike any I've had before, a curry ketchup sauce with insanely crunchy breading. The Toro Carpaccio was one of the best raw tuna prepared dishes I've ever had and I wanted to dip all the rest of the other pieces of nigiri and sushi we ordered in the truffle sauce. The service was great and very fast. The ambiance is moody upscale, dim lights and an intimate atmosphere. These were some of the best pieces of nigiri and sushi I've had. The wagyu flight was fun and got to cook the pieces of meat on a hot stone.

Kabooki sushi is without a doubt one of my favorite sushi spots in Orlando! The restaurant has such a cool vibe. The lighting is warm, the décor is modern, and the whole place feels alive. Definitely the kind of spot where you want to sit, sip, and stay awhile. The service is superb and the staff are very knowledgeable of the food and drinks served there. We sampled a little bit of everything, from the dishes to the cocktails, and loved it all. The garlic teriyaki edamame was the surprise favorite of the night -- seriously, don't skip it. If you're anywhere near Sand Lake and want good food and good drinks, Kabooki should be on your list.

Tiger Cream. $25. King salmon dry-aged 5 days, chizu, berry jam, yuzu creme fraiche, basil oil.

This was our second visit to a Kabooki Sushi and once again, it was great. I recommend this place for high-quality sushi and cocktails in a fairly swanky environment. This review is for the Sand Lake location, which opened in May 2019. It's located closer to the resorts and theme parks. Kabooki Sushi's original location, East Colonial, is located in Northeast Orlando and opened in April 2013. Below is a list of what my wife and I ordered at this location. We shared the Brussels Sprouts, Shishito Peppers, and Money Bags with others at the table (group dinner). Kabooki Cocktails * The Jessica Rabbit ($15) - Grey Goose Vodka, St-Germain, honeydew, lime, orgeat topped with soda * Kabooki Margarita ($14) - Corazon Tequila, yuzu, lime, agave Chef's Daily Choices - Cold Tastings * Toro Carpaccio ($30) - chutoro, dry-aged 8 days; truffle caviar, wasabi cream, truffle ponzu, pickled sambal * Tiger Cream ($25) - king salmon, dry-aged 5 days; chizu, berry jam, yuzu creme fraiche, basil oil Chef's Daily Choices - Nigiri * Bluefin Chutoro x2 ($9 per piece) - dry-aged 8 days, semi-fatty tuna * Bluefin Otoro x2 ($11 per piece) - dry-aged 8 days, fatty tuna belly Greens & Soup * Brussels Sprouts ($8) - peach balsamic, togarashi * Shishito Peppers ($9) - lion head pepper, umami soy, bonito flakes * Moriwase Nigiri ($55) - chef's assortment of "daily catches," including individual toppings and condiments, served with house-infused tamari and wasabi Hot Tastings * Money Bags ($18) - Duxelle dumplings, shiitake crema, truffle pate Makimono (Rolls) * Akami Unagi ($19) - spicy tuna, tempura kampyo topped with eel and avocado, kabayaki, furikake, kaiware * Double Tekka ($21) - spicy tuna, takuan, ohba, topped with tuna, house-infused tamari, kizami wasabi * Hokkaido ($19) - lump crab, tempura flakes, avocado, tobanjan aioli, topped with scallops, black garlic, orange chili sauce The food and drink were presented beautifully. The cocktails were well-made and delicious. Foodwise, I thought almost everything was excellent, especially the nigiri (top-notch). The only items I could've done without were the Brussels Sprouts and the Shishito Peppers. I thought the Brussels Sprouts were too salty, but my wife disagreed (she liked them). The Shishito Peppers weren't bad, just okay. I thoroughly enjoyed the Moriwase Nigiri. Here's what mine came with, served on a wooden sushi board: - Madai - dry-aged 3 days; sea bream from Ehime - Kanpachi - dry-aged 3 days; amberjack from Wakayama - Bluefin Akami - dry-aged 8 days; lean tuna - Hamachi Toro - yellowtail belly -- I didn't see this one on any of the menus - King Sake - king salmon -- I didn't see this on the menus either and I'm not sure if it's the same as their regular sake/salmon - Hokkaidako - giant octopus from Hokkaido - Shima Aji - dry-aged 4 days; striped jack from Kumamoto - Madai - dry-aged 3 days; sea bream from Ehime - Suzuki - black bass from Miyagi - Isaki - threeline grunt from Nagasaki I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants and Kabooki Sushi is the only one I can think of, off the top of my head, to list the number of days that their sushi has been dry-aged. Interesting. The Moriwase Nigiri came with a special toasted soy sauce infused with bonito, mirin, and another ingredient our server said that I couldn't hear clearly. It's a little more smoky and concentrated. I think this is what Kabooki described on their menu as tamari. You can think of it as a premium soy sauce. The crowd noise and music in the dining room was loud and sometimes made it a bit hard to converse at the table. Our server was Troy P and he did a good job. Thanks to the male Thai server who took our pictures outside. Reservations are recommended. This place is popular. Kabooki Sushi is on Resy. We had a Saturday night 7:30pm reservation for seven people. It was busy. The restaurant was flexible when we needed to add one to the reservation and push the time back, so that was nice. You can read my review of Kabooki Sushi's original East Colonial location, which we visited earlier this year (2025), here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/kabooki-sushi-orlando-7?hrid=DrJjrX714BtX8kvX1RG0oQ&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)

One of the highlights of our trio to Orlando. This was an AWESOME sushi spot. Service was also awesome! Our server was super attentive and always ensured our cups were refilled without having to ask. Ambiance was nice and felt very welcoming. The restaurant was fairly busy for a weekday. We loved every dish we ordered and look forward to trying it out again the next time we are in town...

This was my first time at Kabooki, and definitely see the hype! The restaurant has a high quality ambiance with moody lighting a that gives an upscale feel. I was mostly there for a little app and drink, and the bee my honey didn't disappoint! It was right up my alley with the floral and honey flavors and was balanced well. The garlic teriyaki edamame was hard to stop eating! The flavor really upleveled the edamame. I also got the gyoza, which had shrimp in it and had a really nice flavor profile! My friends enjoyed some sushi rolls, and everything was well liked. Service was good - I didn't feel like we were pushed to order more drinks or food, but we could have been checked on a couple more times. Overall, a good experience with high quality food!

Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall... was craving sushi and heard good reviews of this place. Ambiance wise feels like a club with loud music such that the servers had trouble hearing our orders... they seemed kind of slow for refilling water or giving us utensils like fork/spoon but it was pretty busy The nigiri itself including the sushi mariawase was disappointing since the slices were so small and the pieces themselves tasted average... CA and Japan has much better places. However, udon, ribs, sweet shrimp, and some of the rolls were decent enough. In particular, ribs were amazing!

    Cindy D.

Kabooki Sushi $40 Magical Dining is actually MAGICAL. TLDR: get the carpaccio and sticky ribs! Easy parking in the plaza, was greeted as soon as we walked in, sat down promptly. We had a very wobbly table and they fixed that immediately. Ambiance lighting is nice but definitely a bit dim to see the menus properly. We did ask for the MD menus after not receiving it with all the other menus. Server and host were very, very nice. Food and drinks for two people: Espresso martini, it's flippin bananas First course: wagyu carpaccio Main course: two makimono (ghost roll and booki booki), Berkwood St. Louis style sticky ribs 3 course: C4 and Tiramisu Even without MD, everyone needs to try the Kabooki carpaccio and sticky ribs. These two items are the most perfect dishes I have ever eaten in central Florida...so far. The balance, amount, and flavor profile is amazing. We could've eaten 4 plates of the carpaccio, with no entree and dessert and have been satisfied...then the sticky ribs got to the table. The BEST ribs I have ever had. Fall off the bone, you really don't even need to chew. Drinks were great! and strong The so-so: we were told there's an anniversary surprise at the end of the meal and never got it. The tiramisu was insanely bitter in some bites. Insanely bitter. I like matcha but something was off in it. Took the tiramisu to-go so felt like it was still a 5 star experience at the restaurant. Timing of the courses was a bit off. Got the second course before even halfway done with the first. Would def come back to Kabooki.

Found this place while in Orlando and everything was so good ! Definitely going back. The waitress was so nice and informative and I love the ambiance . Perfect for a date night.

Today's visit consisted of great food per usual. We arrived promptly at 5pm with no reservations...not a problem because the restaurant was not crowded yet. The vibe was quiet with the occasional sounds of small talk, silverware and plates. My son and I shared the Tonkotsu Ramen which was delicious, filling, rich in flavor and seasoned perfectly. I did add some Sriracha sauce to give it some heat though. Please note I think they only serve ramen on Sundays. We also ordered a Ghost roll and Garlic Teriyaki Edamame which is hands down the best edamame I've had in Orlando. The Sun Kissed Bliss drinks paired well with our food selections. Hit us for about $70. Not bad at all as the serving sizes and the quality of the food made it worth it.

Ordered: Lychee Princess cocktail (~$15): Cathead Honeysuckle Vodka, Aperol, Giffard Lychee, Lemon Tempura (~$15): seasonal vegetables and tempura sauce Toro Carpaccio (~$30): chutoro dry-aged 8 days, truffle caviar, wasabi cream, truffle ponzu, pickled sambal Hamachi Carpaccio (~$22): Japanese yellowtail, yuzu tobiko, ponzu, kaffir lime oil, yuzu kosho, serrano peppers Nigiri Moriawase (~$55): chef's assorted of daily catches, including individual toppings and condiments, served with house infused tamari & wasabi The J Roll (~$21): bubu arare tuna, avocado, serrano, topped with torched salmon, truffle cream and sweet chili Hawaii XO Roll (~$18): yellowtail, avocado, tobanjan aioli, crispy shallots, topped with white fish, lemon confit, kaiware, pink salt Rock Shrimp (~$16): with tobanjan aioli, chives, yuzu tartar Nabe w Short Rib (~$35): furikake rice, bonito flakes, shiitake garlic chips, egg yolk, soy dashi with short rib Matcha Tiramisu (~$14): ladyfinger biscuits soaked in matcha, matcha mascarpone cheese, matcha powder C4 (~$12): chocolate lava cake with dulce de leche. vanilla ice cream, chocolate ganache sauce Aya's take: Kabooki Sushi needs no introduction considering it's on the Michelin Good Cooking list. The ambiance is chic, sexy, and dark. It's a perfect spot for a girls night or even a date. I started with the Lychee Princess which was light, not overly sweet, and nice to sip on with our dinner. As far as appetizers, the Toro Carpaccio was outstanding! The chutoro was fresh & buttery, the truffle ponzu & truffle caviar was insanely rich, and the wasabi cream had a subtle kick. All the other food items were well-made with the standouts being The J Roll and Rock Shrimp. If you're looking for something more classic then get the Nigiri Moriawase. The quality of the fish is fantastic and the assortment you get is perfect for a solo or shared experience. We ended with 2 desserts which were decent with the C4 being the clear winner here. It was soft, decadent, and well-balanced with the vanilla ice cream. The Matcha Tiramisu was a bit of a let down as the flavor of matcha was lacking. I can clearly see the matcha powder but the taste was lacking. Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner experience! If you're in the Orlando area, make a reservation and your way over here!

Kabooki Sushi has a great ambiance with a lively feel. The music playing in the background really gives it the vibe of a real night out. The food was delicious and well done across the board. It's definitely a great spot for a night out--but not an out out kind of night. Service was excellent.

Shishito peppers the natural sauce made by the peppers & soy is amazing

I've ordered kabuki sushi many times. During the Covid years, this was one of my go to, to go restaurants. As soon as I could go in person I did and I have taken many friends since then. If you go on a Sunday, you are in for a treat. There is a Ramen special. You have to ask about to get the menu. It is some of the best Ramen you will ever have. The service is always outstanding. The ambience is low light not noisy. It's a good place to catch up with friends and have a conversation and share some amazing food. This sushi is so good. I dare you to eat it without soy sauce or wasabi. The shishito peppers are so good that they will go quickly. A5 steak on a hot rock, exactly as amazing as you would expect! Make sure to book your reservation on the website, and don't miss out on this local gem!

The place maybe had two other tables but they got a few more as the evening went by. Our server was Adele, she was great. We started with the tuna and shared that across the table- nice wonton crips, a lot of good sized tuna and some stringy carrots that made it a little difficult to scoop. I had a cocktail (Dover shores- some gin with passion fruit, was good) and the ladies had wine. Emily's wine wasn't good; sounded like it was spoiled? She said it tasted like vinegar. So I asked Adele to just swap it out with something else, and she did. The new glass of wine was much better. We all went with the magical dining menu. They had the short rib and I had the noodles w shrimp. All the dishes were good. For the apps we had the she crab soup- too sweet for me, the salad- standard fare, and the pork belly which was the standout item. Good portion and crispy! Desserts were not typical- some version of a key lime pie which came like ice cream in a cone, some version of a cheesecake which they said had a strange texture and not too sweet. Despite the comments, they ate their whole desserts and I took mine home for the hubs, since I didn't care for any of them. I had the parramore cocktail instead- very good. They have revamped the whole menu. I think they will be ok. Parking is $15 for 3 hours of valet. There is a garage across Orange for $16 as long as you want. Dress is business casual or better for dinner.

They have a little sign by the street to help you find it/advertising, as it's in the hallway of the plaza. It's on the ground level so we didn't have to take any stairs or elevator. Upon entry, there was no one to greet us. We headed to the register where they had a bunch of menus and pictures. While we were looking, the lady came out from the back with food items for someone who was already seated. Everything looked good. There was a guy waiting for his order to go, another guy waiting to eat by himself, and another lady also waiting to eat by herself. There was some interview going on between two guys- sounded like it was about the restaurant as I heard them talking about kimchi fried rice. It sounded so good, I ordered that with shrimp. Mom had the bento box lunch. We asked for two cups for water, which she said she would bring to us. We sat for awhile, and saw the others and the to go person get their food. The water cups did not come until after she brought us our food. Maybe that's the way they do it? Anyhow- our food was out in a reasonable time and everything was delicious. I tried some of mom's beef bento box- she got the bulgogi beef and we were both a little shocked that it was ground beef and not thin slices, but the flavor was spot on. My mom did not finish her lunch and I had a small portion of rice left. When I asked for one to go box- the lady almost seemed upset that I didn't want two! She asked me what about my leftovers? To which I said my mom was taking everything in one box. lol. We don't like to waste and I wasn't going to toss mine but it seemed silly to get another box for the little bit of rice I had. So we put it all in one. We paid at the register and took our box. There are many more items on the menu I'd like to try. My mom was pretty impressed with the place. It's nothing to look at, really, but the food is good and she will probably bring her friends here for lunch.
