My husband and I stopped here on a whim after an IKEA run on Easter Sunday and what a delightful surprise! Ken took care of us and was very attentive and personable the entire time! I asked for a sweet tea and he asked if I'd like a black tea or a green tea. I ordered the green tea thinking it would be a hot tea. Instead, it was an iced sweet green tea, very light and almost floral; absolutely loved it! We started with the Shumai and green mussels. There were 6 Shumai in the order and they were of a generous size with ample filling and delicate dough. The dipping sauce was already on the bottom of the bowl, which I liked rather than trying to dip them in another container. The green mussels were also prepared differently as I've usually had them cooked whole with the sauce on top; however, these were cut up into small pieces and then mixed with the sauce and masago. They were a bit charred which I did like. All of the sushi was delicious but the stand outs were the oasis (love me a good lemon slice on sushi) as a fantastic rice- less option, and the Mimi roll as my out of comfort pick. I don't think I had ever had apple in sushi before but I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed it! The sweetness and the crunch really paired well with the asparagus and the spicy filling. Will for sure be back for this roll and the sweet green tea alone! I wonder if they sell it by the gallon All in all a great find and thank you to Ken for sharing such a beautiful blessing for us at the end! read more

Visitors to the area, Sushi Katana was a terrific find. It's tucked into an upscale strip mall with plenty of free off-street parking. We were there for the early bird special, buy two sushi rolls, get the third free. That's an incredible deal. This place serves top quality sushi, so the savings really stood out. My wife and I ordered six rolls (two of them came to review for the sushi free), and every roll was fresh, flavorful, and generously filled with fish. The presentation was beautiful. The sushi was served on two large wooden "fishing boats," loved the presentation. Service was equally impressive. Our server, Khiet, took excellent care of us and made the whole experience even better. We'll be back in the area soon, and Sushi Katana is already on our must-visit list for a sushi fix. read more

This is definitely my go to sushi spot in the Millenia area! It's only about five minutes from my house, and every roll I've ordered has been consistently on point. The decor is beautiful, small, and trendy, which makes it a really nice place to sit and enjoy your meal. The service is A1, everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. Sushi Katana has been my go to spot for Sushi. The quality of sushi here and care that goes into making it is evident. The ratio of filling to rice is perfect. The service is amazing. My favorite server there is Ken, so if you ask for him he will give amazing suggestions, even off the menu items. On weekdays you can get in on the buy two get one free rolls from 430pm to 630 pm. The miso soup is so comforting. The soup with udon noodles and shrimp tempura is a go to when you just want something nourishing and delicious. The tempura is light and crispy and comes with a sauce, but my top tip is to get the white sauce. My favorite rolls are the Katana roll, Volcano Roll and Mardi Gras Roll. The Bento Box are a great idea if you want to try many items at the same time. There are also some times discounts on Groupon! My last review on this restaurant was in 2016. Ten years of patronage! Searching for food and I was tired of everything around this popped up on Yelp.... I was shocked! At this place. Upon entering it was PACKED, I said to myself "okayyy, food must be GOOD"... we were seated fairly quick. The menu has a lot of options, even vegetarian ones. I ordered the avocado roll and the chicken katsu. The miso soup was included with my chicken katsu - the soup was yummy, flavorful, warm and perfect for a somewhat chilly night. The chicken katsu was delicious! The chicken was crispy, the fried rice was cooked perfectly! It was sooo good! My avocado roll was also delicious! Everything was great. Our waiter "KEN" was top notch! Consistent, very pleasant and friendly. My favorite part was that the staff constantly walked around refilling your cup. The family came to Orlando during Spring Break last year and it was our daughter's birthday while we were there. Of course she wanted a sushi dinner to celebrate. After much research on yelp, we decided on Sushi Katana. We made a reservation but were running 5-10 mins late. I reached out to the restaurant to notify them, no problem. So as we walked in, I discreetly mentioned to the hostess that it was my daughter's birthday so that I wouldn't have to do so with our server in front of my daughter. I wanted the dessert to be a surprise. The hostess looked at me blankly and said, "You can tell your server." Well, thanks for nothing. Inauspicious start. I gotta be honest, the customer service industry has tanked over the last 10 years. Thankfully, our server did not get that memo. He was fantastic but unfortunately I do not recall his name. He was very patient, accommodating and seemed to like his job. Very rare these days so it stood out. The atmosphere was casual and the sushi was good across the board. Although I was disappointed again when they were out of the Bluefin Otero sashimi. I always order some good sashimi with my sushi meals and was looking forward to trying it here but, alas, it was not meant to be. I really want to give this place 4 stars but I can't because of the lazy hostess and the missing menu item. But just because of the wonderful server we had, I'm really making this a 3.5. My husband and I were out running errands in that magical time frame during the holidays where you have no idea what day it is and we're starving! We had plans on going somewhere else but that place was super busy when I thought where can we get sushi nearby? We decided on Sushi Katana. Walked in to a nice space where the hostess immediately sat us. I really didn't plan on doing a review here to be honest, but the service from Ken was so outstanding that I had to! Ken greeted us an took our drink order, checked on us throughout and was an overall amazing server. What made the experience special was the sushi boat! He said whenever couples come on dates he gives them the sushi boat and I thought that was so sweet. He pointed to a table across the way and said see normally yours would've come out like there's over there on regular plates but they're just a bunch of guys and made us laugh. Throughout he asked us how our "cruise" was going. While we enjoyed our sushi. The rolls we got were the Chiquita with plaintain (I will choose a roll with plaintain everytime!), the lumber jack with the steak inside and a spicy salmon. We really enjoyed it and found the prices were pretty good too. The next time you're in the millennia area go check out Sushi Katana and ask for Ken as your server. Was looking for a spot to eat after some IKEA shopping and spotted this place on Apple Maps. After seeing the yelp reviews, decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. The restaurant was packed when we went in, no empty tables aside from one with a "reserved" label on it. After checking to see if there would be any available tables soon the hostess seated us in the reserved seats to dine. I like the lighting in the restaurant, but also it appeared very clean and well kept. Our waiter Ken came over shortly after and introduced himself politely, and took our drink orders. I had a sweet tea and she had a lemonade. For food we shared the chicken katsu with fried rice and I ordered an angel roll, she had an avocado roll. The food was GREAT my angel roll tasted fresh and flavorful, and chicken katsu was super crisp on the outside, but tender on the inside and had flavor. The fried rice was cooked well, but for me had a bit much of a smoky/burned tasted behind it, but it was still enjoyable. The service in this place was amazing though. My cup never got more than half empty before it was refilled. Sometimes without me even noticing. Ken was super polite and helpful through our time there and even thanked us for visiting. Came back a second time with my husband to celebrate me getting a promotion - We walked in and the place was packed, but we only waited about 5 mins for a chair. We were served by Ken who was amazing in EVERY way! He had such a great personality and made sure to greet all his tables with wishes for the Chinese New Year. Sushi Katana is my favorite hidden gem I've found in a while! The exterior of Sushi Katana is unassuming, nestled in a strip mall in Millenia, but what they're serving inside rivals or beats some of the most high end sushi restaurants in town. Our server Ken was absolutely fantastic. He was very attentive and gave some great recommendations on dishes to try. His first recommendation was the crispy tuna rice, which was phenomenal. All of the goodness of a spicy tuna roll in what he described as "s'more form." The portions of tuna were incredibly generous and this dish was so beautifully presented. We also ordered the Usuzukuri as a starter, which was hands-down our favorite dish of the night. The fish just melted in your mouth and the citrus sauce added the perfect brightness to each bite. Confession, I started dipping the crispy tuna rice in this sauce. It's that good! For rolls we ordered the rainbow roll and rising sun roll, both delicious, and were pleasantly surprised when Ken informed us that it was still happy hour (6pm on a weekday), so we got to order another roll for free! We opted for the bahama mama, which had the most refreshing touch of mango. I can't believe the value of the food and service at Sushi Katana and will definitely be back soon! read more

This is our first time visiting Sushi Katana. The restaurant is quaint, small and clean. We were seated right away by friendly staff. We came during happy hour (which is 4-6:30). Pay for 2 rolls get one free, $2 off appetizers an $5 wines. I orders the Luisi Flat which was delicious. I also ordered the Katana roll, shrimp tempura roll and the Millennium roll. All three were delicious. The waitstaff was very attentive, refilling our glasses continually and removing empty plates. It's been three years since I eaten here. I went on a Saturday evening. I thought there would be a wait, but I was seated immediately at the sushi bar. I told my server that I wanted to try the suggested lychee sake (10 dollars). It had the sweet lychee flavor, but a bit odd aftertaste. However, I still enjoyed the sake and it was pretty light and refreshing. For my entree, I chose the eel (23 dollars), which included soup or salad. I chose the later, which came very quickly. The veggies were fresh and the ginger dressing was perfect. I enjoyed every bite of it. The eel came later, and it was a generous amount that also came with seaweed and seafood salad. The eel was perfectly grilled and tender. The eel sauce made it enjoyable, and I wished they added a bit more so I could savor it with the rice. However, I enjoyed the rice more when adding the seaweed and seafood salads. I didn't need the pickled ginger or the wasabi. I was even full before I could finish all the rice. It was a such a great meal! My server was friendly and helpful when he could be. He was able to suggest the right flavor of sake, but he hasn't tried the eel when I wanted his recommendation on that. The staff at the sushi bar were busy working, so they didn't talk to me much. The atmosphere wasn't as lively as 3 years ago, but still sociable. The lights are dimmer and orange now, and looked more of a dining room than the cafeteria from the white florescent lighting before. Paying was directly from the table and they accepted Google pay. I am very happy that Sushi Katana is still doing well since the last time I came. They didn't even increase the price that much (maybe a dollar more?), which makes this place quite affordable. This is my spot for great sushi in a casual atmosphere in the Millenia area. read more
